7:02 I imagine a bard could also be interested in using this metal as part of some intense art piece that really makes you FEEL something you won't get from other works.
This is honestly exactly what i needed ! Im about to start an icewind dale game and im super excited! (I however already made my character, a triton paladin)
My own Icewind Dale game ended up in Indefinite Hiatus near the end of last year due to scheduling issues, then a player argument (not at the table but due to irl issues), and us discovering this week that the player who left pur group due to work and school has us all blocked now, sadly. So while we may finish the game, it isn’t likely at this rate. BUT! I just got word tonight that in a couple weeks a store my family goes to will begin hosting Icewind Dale. Meaning rather than as a DM, I get to explore it as a Player. Meaning, CHARACTER TIME!!!!!
I'm going to be getting my own Rime game going soon, just after my current party finishes my heavily homebrew influenced Tomb of Annihilation campaign. I use Fantasy Grounds & Syrinscape to host my games, reach out if you're interested and we can chat.
@@Kalgori Hope you have fun with it! I’m currently enjoying my own game at that local store I mentioned (we have a session tomorrow night, and we hit level 4 during it)
I played in this as a tabaxi (snow leopard) Gloomstalker Ranger. He survived the campaign including getting dropped by a Roc! It was nice to have high dex.
I’ve made a horned white haired bugbear gloom stalker ranger in the Icewind Dale campaign that I’ve flavored as a yeti that is invisible while in the snow.
My icewindale character is a Swarm Keeper ranger who's swarm is a flurry of ice and snow that aids my Ranger Yohan on his quest to end the unyielding winter. (I started as a human but ended up getting the doppleganger secret which the DM has used to make my character go through some major trauma, which makes for good story and rp)
I’ll be honest, the photo of the dragon at 0:48 gave me ‘nam flashbacks 😂 we took all most a year out of game (several sessions) to defeat that dragon. It haunts us to this day. We’re almost finished this campaign and I’ve only lost 2 characters
Shield Dwarf Barbarian from Miribar. Soldier background, so he was forced to run after punching his commanding officer (the officer wanted him to commit a war crime). He escaped to Luskan and then fled north to his mother's ancestral home.
Keep in mind the campaign has a bunch of items that grant cold resistance. It’s nice to have from other features, but most characters will have other opportunities to pick it up.
Surprised no one mentioned the old crpg game Icewind Dale and use it as inspiration go make your character for Rotfm. Also i heard Icewind Dale's one of the last adventure modules that make use of those black obelisks. Perhaps an evil wizard might be involved, kudos if its Thayan XD.
I’m looking to make a swarm keeper ranger, does anybody have ideas as to make that lore- able? I know most insects don’t really exist during the cold months (all of them in this setting) but I was really wanting to do something similar to cicadas, Becouse their hiss sound used to scare me as a kid and now it’s a joke in our friend group that are playing this campaign

So jealous!! Good luck with your new game!!
This must have been your most fitting "cold" opening.
😂 brilliant!
This is one of the few pre-written campaigns I've been able to be a player in. It's a harsh, but great game!
SO much want to be in a frostmaiden game!

Epic moments are the best!

Now i imagine your bugbear offering travelers snowcones XD
Just might steal that! 😆

Ooh, that secret is so awesome!! Great flavor as well!

Mastermind Rogue - Once a prisoner in Rebel's End, Doppelganger, Charlatan, Skulker, sounds fun lol
PLAY IT
@@TheClericCorner OK jeez no need to shout
Love these videos even if not to make characters, just to see the creativity.
Heck yeah! Just for any cold focused game!
One of these for acquisitions inc!
Love these type videos!
Me too!! Got a few more to do!

True! Always wanted to know what they were planning with those
@@TheClericCorner Vecna shenanigans as far as im aware of, at least according to Jordphan.

A WINTER themed Swarmkeeper Ranger?
A spoiler warning before you revealed the 3 main plots and subsequently each city and sidequest would be nice. Is it not a video for players?
Icewind Dale came out a couple years ago. Why do character ideas for it now?
People have asked for it. And it's a legacy product
