You are so right about trash and that is very disappointing. Ancient Indians had a lot of respect for the ecosystem around them. I remember my grand parents and great grand parents being so minimalistic, treasuring even a small piece of twine, repurposing most of the things, keeping the homes, surroundings, temples clean. I am old now but I have swept and cleaned temples when I was young. We the 'independent' and 'educated' people of 'modern' India are to blame for this trash and mess and I hang my head in shame.

It's a national problem, except maybe in pockets of Kerala and NorthEast. We've been complaining for years but do not know what to do. Until we go full surveillance mode like China and impose hefty fines for littering, I'm sad that this'll continue.

  • @rmat007

In fact the trash is supposed to be cleared by the staff hired exactly for that purpose. They do that in the obvious, visible locations, but dont do the same elsewhere. Trash will pile p anywhere. I live in the wst and I do see trash in large cities there. The staff at these sites have to be sencitized to do a better job. When I visit India I do see this in the parks and tourist sites. Hope our brothers working there especially the supervisors at teh Archeogical survey Dept. take not and action.

Good excuse. Problem is post independence our education system lacks seriousness in educating our children about hygiene and basic civic sense. Unfortunately most of Indian parents equally responsible for not educating kids from childhood… l see this problem with parents of today’s age as well and has nothing to do with age and income parity.. look at any public theatre with expensive tickets which middle or upper middle afford.. people do have the habit to leave left overs under the seat or deliberately throw there

Basic sense of hygiene is seriously lacking amongst most Indians, including the supposedly educated. Travel by Air India and the luxury trains; the toilets are a mess within 30 minutes of departure!
It's great there are hired trash cleaners, but we, as the people, took pride in keeping our environment clean, and then the country would look a lot more beautiful 😊

So, when I was little cities and towns used to be much cleaner in India, Tokyo was super duper clean and organized. Now after 18 years the cities and towns in India are dirtier and it bothers me a lot. I keep complaining about it but my friends and family members and neighbours etc. don't seem to understand the problem. They say I'm criticizing because I'm a foreign return and things will change eventually in India as well. I don't think it's going to change anytime soon because the politicians and the bureaucracy are not concerned about the garbage problem at all. I think people will definitely learn but the sarkari babus( government employees) are corrupt and don't want to solve the problem.

I go to peoples houses and I am like what do I do with the garbage and they throw their garbage off the balcony and say like this or at fuctions people just throw the trash on the ground.

I just want to let you know some facts that you may have misunderstood. The circumambulations are performed by one’s devotion and desire, there is no rule as to how many one has to do. But it’s always an odd number. People will do 1 or 1001 or 108 which is a sacred number.
The builder of this beautiful Mandir belonged to the Solanki dynasty. The actual carvers are known as the Sompura clan, who are Bhramins and they specialize in this stone carving and are still doing this amazing work presently.
The Mahabharata and the Ramayana are sacred 0:03 scriptures known as ithiyas- historical scriptures. They are Not mythology. The scriptures known as Puranas are mythological. The Bhagwat Gita is a historical scripture, as it is part of the Mahabharata. Just fyi.

    How they build that temple?

    • @SD-ov7wq
      @SD-ov7wq День тому

      1. Someone wishes to build a temple for some reason. The reason may be the memory of father, mother, something good happened into the life of a person, for the use/benefit of society or to thank the god.
      2. That person gets accord of the king/ruler of the land. Then that person finds a suitable team of स्थपती - temple architects. experts select a site, suitable for
      .
      3. The temple architect helps to select a site and designs a temple according to the person’s wish and his/her personal planet charts- कुंडली. Sometime king/queen/city /place planet charts are used. These are used to determine the basic unit of measurement as well as some other architectural calculations. The longitude and latitude are taken into considerations. Some facts of science are also taken into consideration and these facts are given tangible form in designing and construction of temple. A temple may have a theme such as time keeping, astrology, energy, sex, reproduction, epic etc.
      4. Then the creator person and may be the ruler/king/queen and general public funds the project.
      5. The temple architect constructs the temple with his team of artisans.
The required materials are selected carefully.
The idols of particular god/gods are selected as per creator’s planet chart and carved out of stone with very minute details and with very precise measurements.
      6. After the completion of construction the pranpratishtha ceremony is done
AND THE TEMPLE COME INTO EXISTENCE.
Along with it for maintenance of temple, some land is donated to it. Maintenance include upkeep of temple, provision for lightening lamps, flowers for puja and decoration and some sort of salary to the temple staff working in various capacity such as pujari, instrument player, and others.
This is very short answer to your question.
Complete answer will take few books. Some are available and some are untraceable/lost.

I agree with you 100 %. This is our weakness. This is a purely indiscipline attitude. We show ourselves as a member of the oldest religion in the world but our actions don't match with that. Sorry for this mismatch.

as is understandable, you see things in a western perspective and equate cleanliness with patriotism which is interesting !
this surya temple is far more significant and even waste strewn around the gardens cannot take away the personal spiritual experience
the sustained loot of the british left us impoverished and we had to claw our way out !
keeping our surroundings clean came pretty low down on the priority list
hunger buggers up your priorities !
    no excuses here
