- Trent Compton and his fishing buddy, Chief-o, take me fishing on some big bass lakes on his golf course and catch them on topwater, crank baits and worms! There are over 4,000 ponds and lakes in South Florida in the form of gravel pits, golf courses and housing developments! I'm always trying to get permission to fish them and it pays off with big Bass!

I wish these places would let guys like you show kids how to fish there. They're underpressured and a great place to get kids hooked on fishing. When I lived in Phoenix I loved seeing kids trespassing and fishing while I was golfing. I'd always drive up and see the monsters they caught and say keep it up and run like the wind when they come and come back lol. They're just kids. That's what I'd of done when I was 12 lol

Roland I love that we watched you make that plug and you’re still catching big fish on it.. I grew up fishing golf course ponds I actually caught a 11lber when I was 10 years old you signed the photo for me many years ago. Now I am receiving my captains license and will begin chartering soon for big snook and tarpon.. I would take you out any time Roland I am 3hrs north of you west coast.

What's the lesson? Tossing in baits to heavily populated, lightly fished golf course ponds. You can toss anything in there and get bit.
@@dlewisfl What I leared is that they will actually let you in to fish if you go ask them nicely. This actually worked for me this weekend. I always figured they would run you off.

I like to see a video series of "story time" of your experiences through the years. The first I would like to see is your top five most cool catches. The ones that you were just in awe as you watched it happen. My number one was about a month ago. I was in a friend's pond, and I was dragging a lizard. I drug it from one bank to the other to cover both banks and everything in between, when right at the bank I watched this little one pounder come out of nowhere. It came up and actually out of the water since I was only in about a foot. It took my bait, and immediately dove. While it doesn't seem to most like a cool catch, it was just awesome to watch it attack the way it did. He was so close that when I set the hook, I pulled him straight up on the bank in one pull without reeling.

Talking about ponds, one I haven't fished is in North Fort Myers behind Home Depot. Seen people there but no good place to park. The ponds along Palm Beach Road between Fort Myers and Alva area that post NO Fishing! I lived in Buccaneers Estates and there are several ponds there. Big bass and other fishes in them.

YOU DON'T SEE ALL THE CIRCLES IN ABOUT TWO FEET ON WATER? AND AS YOU CAN SEE THE WATER HAS DROPED AT LEAST 3 FT FROM WERE THE GRASS LINE IS. YOU CAN SEE BEDS IN OTHER LAKES THAT THEY VISITED THROUGHOUT THE VIDEO

The only problem with the 500 ponds around Naples and Ft Myers are the people who flip out of they see you fishing there. Golf courses and rich people dont want to see morlocks bass fishing. It's too pedestrian for the "pinkies out" crowd.
