- Plane spotting afternoon at Istanbul Atatürk airport on may 2nd, 2018. My first afternoon of plane spotting in Istanbul, and I was already able to capture some really nice stuff :) This video includes an Iran Airtour MD83, Azerbaijan 757, Turkish airlines widebodies, and many more! Apologies for some shaky footage, I wasn’t allowed to bring my tripod to this spotting place. Hopefully you’ll understand :) Enjoy watching! Amazing first few opening bits of footage mate. Love the Iranian MD at the start, the Azerbaijan 757 too. Loved the TK EuroLeague A321 livery. Would love to visit Istanbul soon, not long now till the new airport opens to replcae this one. Liked 😁👍
Thanks for watching Jonathan, appreciate it! Not the best airport for filming since you can't use a tripod but I loved the traffic there. Hopefully the new airport has a nice planespotting place:)
ahh good old atatürk airport. I did some plane spotting there myself 4 years ago and this spotting location is simply amazing (apart from that tripod issue). I doubt the new airport will offer such a nice location for spotters. I'm gonna miss this airport, so thanks for capturing these magnificent shots before its closure!

Great filming from beginning to end. It can be challenging to film handheld an entire take-off from that balcony. Well done! Evening scenery with all the lights and cars nearby is outstanding too! :)

I just can not understand why our airline AZAL paints planes in blue? Earlier, in Soviet times, when there was a single airline company "Aeroflot", all the planes were white with blue inscriptions. And everything looked solid.
What a great sound from the MD80. And isn't Azerbaijan one of the best liveries ever? And what a fabulous sound from those RB211s spooling up.
