The Scania next gen is one of my favorite trucks. 770 hp with a open pipe sounds fantastic 👍👌

Jup, i'm with you on that. I love both so much that i bought a volvo (delivery in april) even though i currently drive a 2007 Scania and i love it to bits
@@GumpPower I'm currently driving a 2008 4x2 Scania R420 Topline. It's a little old and the pneumatic couplings are a bit worn but it still passes inspection. 100 extra horses and another driving axle would have been nice, though, since going over the hills between Gothenburg and Jönköping is quite a challenge when you're loaded with 20 to 25 tons of paint and you're always on the verge of going over the axle pressure limit at 11.5 tons.
I just wish I could get a scania in North America

@Béla Bá It's basically the same engine, same stock exhaust, same fuel pumps, same turbo, etc. Everything is electronically limited so that's why you can take parts from a R580 and put them on a R730 without much trouble. That's also why you can chip your engine and make it more powerful. You just change the software in the computers to make the fuel pumps pump more fuel and the air mass meter to go slightly farther to let more air in as to not let out unburnt fuel (however, I know at least Volvo had something like that where unburnt fuel cycled back and was reused as to not waste anything. At least on one of the older Euro5 trucks I drove. It was a 6x2 2009 FH440 Globetrotter with container locks.

Why doesn't bring Scania this engine to the USA? An 770 HP V8 most be an American dream. I know that the Cummins diesel is holy out there but this V8 engine most be second best out there.
Not really worth bringing the 770 to the US. In the US the maximum truck weight is 80,000 pounds, that's 36 tonnes. You don't need a 770 for that, it won't sell. In Sweden and Finland they're allowed up to 60 tons.

You need to understand the torque first. Scania have 20% more of it than Volvo 750 for example.

They will never go full electric. As the range will never be as good as with liquid fuel. And if they would stop with diesel they would use hydrogen fuel instead as the range is much higher than having a heavy battery
