I have just got a second hand one with XPS 8700 PC i7-4770 3.4GHz 16MB RAM 2TB HDD, windows 10 and a G Force GTX 750 Ti 2GB I want to do my you tube video recording and live streaming on UA-cam not gaming through OBS and my video editing will that handle it
with a GPU upgrade you will be able to play an amazing number of games on that system( with possibly having to upgrade the PSU to support them), Not on the highest settings, but still extremely playable. That being said, its not a good time to buy GPU's since they went thru the roof.
I have this pc, I was planning to upgrade my my factory gpu that had a gforce635 to a gforcegtx1050ti. But I rather just wait it out to build a new pc. Maybe when I graduate out of college
This older pc is my current pc, play games very good, works perfect on 3d aplications, with a WD ssd 2tb, rtx 2060 black and gpu evga 600w bronze runs fantastic. I still love it.

i managed to squeeze in a 1080ti AORUS in to this case I upgraded to K processor runs at 4.2 with a tower cpu fan can keep full load temps at about 60-70
i just took a xps 8700 and threw it in a better case 32gb ram msi 1050ti 4gb ssd lights fans massive cpu cooler. the problem with the build you reviewed is the video card forsure my 4gb msi puts in work and play just about every game ive tried on high graphics
Nice, I've just finally move for Windows 8 to 11 (don't throw rocks please! lol) and replace the PSU with 550W modular in my original case and fitted a 3060TI. I was extremely happy that for once, Dell drivers and BIOS/Windows/hardware dit not make lose my mind. And I'm not done: new 750 PSU coming and a 3070...hello dual GPU XPS8700 ...soon!
I have a 8100 i7 I am planning to add 32 gigs of ram A ssd and a 4gb cheap Gpu I just wanna edit 1080p video Hope it works I see alot of power supply on market place but if I got a bigger one how do I know it won't mess something up?
i’m building a pc for my brother and i and with graphics card prices going crazy right now i was thinking about taking the graphics card (and cpu as well) from this pc until the prices go back to normal since we’ve had this pc for forever and we never use it. would it be worth it or should i just wait until I can get a hold of a decently priced gpu?
Needed something low cost to run Windows for remote work. Dell does not support the XPS 8700 beyond Windows 10 and anything that supports 11 was more than I wanted to spend. Picked up a bare XPS 8700 (Case, MB, PS) off eBay. Installed i7-4790, 32GB RAM, 512GB mSATA, 4x 1TB HDD, EVGA 2GB NVIDIA GTX 960, and Sound Blaster X/Fi. Setup 4x HDD as a 2TB RAID0+1. Installed Windows 10 to mSATA as C:\ and RAID as C:\Users. There is an acceptable 14% bottleneck on the EVGA card. Works well with Clip Studio Paint 2.06. When job is done, will dump Windows and run Novell openSuse Linux.
Can any one help me my dell xps 8700 won't power on and when I plug in the power cable the pc won't make it to shooting sequence it only status turned on long enough for the fans to spin for maybe 1/2 a second then the whole thing powers down and the process repeats for as long as it's plugged in

@ctsd623 you really took the time out of your day to reply to an 8 month old question I first asked the question because I am extremely new to messing with/working on a pc so I appreciate you being a prick for no reason 😉
I'm not tech savvy whatsoever, but I have an xps 8700 i5, with 500gb ssd and 8gb of ram. Do u know how much that would be worth? Or where to sell it? I'm looking to just get a laptop that can handle college. Don't necessarily need a PC. I believe the graphics card is only like a gt 635
It really will depend on the area you're in and how much people are willing to pay. I'd say maybe $200-250. If you wanna sell it quick, then I'd sell it for a little less.
Do you think I could take the processor out of my dell xps 7100 and use it for the pc I’m building? I’m probably going to get a 1660 super gpu and 16gb ddr4 ram
I don't see why not. You'd just have to make sure everything is compatible with each other. I don't think Intel supported DDR4 until their 5000 series.
I have a xps 8900, 16gb of ram, i7 6700 4chz, and a 750 GeForce graphics card. I was thinking of upgrading the graphics to a 1070, will this be okay? Also how would case swapping work for this pc.
It should be ok to put a 1070 in there, just make sure the power supply can handle it. As for case swapping, if it's anything like the 8700, you should be able to put it into an ATX compatible case without issue.
Unless you upgraded the PSU, no! It can handle UP to a GTX 960, which I have in my XPS 8900 right now. Case swapping, just get an ATX case, should work good
This computer can not handle pc games is it not made for gaming it is REALLY bad computer only made for people who just check their email maybe Microsoft word or just using the internet
this moment:
you watch the video on a dell xps 8700 :)
Thanks for the video, My parents are passing this computer down to me and Im hoping to get some good gameplay on it. This really helped
Same haha. I just used an air compressor to clean the insides complexly and changed the thermal compound for the cpu
Same, my dad gave me his because he got a new laptop, it runs Roblox at 60 fps and valorant at 50 - 80 fps.
@r laze my dad gave me his, its really good and it runs valorant at 60 - 80 fps, I don't play any other games but it's really good for an old pc

try first: replace the battery on the motherboard (CR2032 the size of a thick quarter)

@@LevysCustoms Thank you!
I am thinking of getting this pc to run Revit 2021
Intel i7 CPU
2 TB hard drive
8 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 720
DVD/CD+R/W
Please advice.
It really depends on how well you want Revit to run. I'd at least suggest adding another 8GB of RAM to that configuration.

My hunch is that upgrading from 24GB RAM to 32GB RAM was somewhat pointless.. and certainly has no effect on gaming
are any of the parts upgrade-able
Yes, pretty much all of it. One thing to keep in mind is that the Dell motherboard inside doesn't support overclocking.
how do you play warzone i have this same kne but it says directx12 issue
Make sure all of your drivers are up-to-date. It ran without issues for me.
