You have a real selection of Bananarama here, starting with the original incarnation with Siobhan, who left to form Shakespears sister, then moving onto Jackie who replaced her for one album before leaving and having Keren and Sarah as a duo, who continue to the present day. They are camp as tits and have some real bangers. You should react to their peformance of Love in the First Degree at the Brits. It's a classic! These girls were riotous. The character of Patsy in Absolutely Fabulous was based on Bananarama. My friend once interviewed them and they were so drunk they kept falling off their chairs.
Yes I remember an interview with Jennifer Saunders years ago and she mentioned the time when herself with Dawn French and Kathy Burke worked together with Bananarama on the Comic Relief single 'Help'. They went out one night and later that night they always fell out of the taxi when the door was open and Jennifer said that was an interesting way to come out of a taxi so when she did Absolutely Fabulous sometime later she incorporated that into Eddy's character when she came out of taxi's drunk. She does it in the pilot episode and I think also 'Death' from series 2. Great show.
Fun Fact: The scenes of them wearing the silver gowns (in I Want You Back) acts as an homage to the Supremes - because at this time Bananarama had surpassed the Supremes in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most UK chart entries in history by an all-female group :)
Saw this and clicked immediately! Love that you're getting into Bananarama. I never understood why they weren't more popular in the US in the 80's - so many great songs. LITFD & I Want You Back are two of the best upbeat pop songs, cool to see you react to them. Check out some of their earlier upbeat songs like "Shy Boy" and "Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye" and some of their moodier tracks like the powerhouse "A Trick of the Night" or "Rough Justice" - They have some 90's gems too like "Preacher Man" "Long Train Running" and "Last Thing on my Mind"
You really need to watch their performance of Love In The First Degree at the 1987 Brit Awards. It takes the video and ramps up the gayness by about 1000%, which was actually ground breaking for national TV in the 80s.
Should you do another round of Bananarama videos (which I hope you will) you should definitely include "More Than Physical" since you love a good bass line, a catchy chorus and a sexy video. Oh, and their performance of "Love In The First Degree" at the 1988 Brit Awards is the campest thing you'll ever see.
I've been waiting for this one. I think Bananarama's music just keeps getting better and better. My recommendations are "Trick of The Night", "Long Train Running", "Preacher Man", "Trippin on Your Love", "Every Shade of Blue", "Love Don't Live Here", "More Than Physical", "Take Me To Your Heart", "Look on The Floor", "Move in My Direction", "Only Your Love", "Stuff Like That", "Looking For Someone".
I reckon they must be the biggest UK girl group of the 80s .... and according to Wiki hold a world record for the highest number of chart singles by an all female group ...they had 30 UK chart hits 1980 to 2009
Wow, you found the goldmine! There are so many fan favourites as mentioned here already. Please check out More Than Physical, I Can’t Help It, Preacher Man, Only Your Love, Movin’ On (THIS IS THE FAVOURITE), More More More, Last Thing on my Mind, Move In My Direction, Look On the Floor, Stuff Like That… You’re in for the treat. ;)
My girls certainly know their core audience - and what becomes a gay icon most. You must hit their song "Movin' On". It is a beautiful song and the video still makes me giddy. A class act with the girls in evening gowns and boys with feather boas. I suggest you keep smelling salts nearby. You also need to check out "Robert DeNiro's Waiting" from their early (Cruel Summer) days. Two of their classics are covers : a Spanish guitar version of "Long Train Running"(Doobie Bros.) and a trippy take on "Nathan Jones"(Supremes). Thanks Bryson. I'm pleased that you are able to enjoy these fun memories.
They were all part of the Stock Aitken Waterman production company, along with Rick Astley, Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue. So they had a similar look and feel, music and choreography wise, with the rest.
Except that Bananarama had already produced 2 successful albums and had multiple hits prior to getting involved with SAW. Their first producer was Paul Cook - that Paul Cook yes, better known for the Sex Pistols. After that and prior to SAW, they were involved with writers and producers Jolley & Swain. Versus the other artists who were essentially manufactured by SAW and weren't famous previously. Not regularly but on at least one occasion Paul Cook's actually been on stage with them as a drummer. Circa 1990. A pretty big contrast there musically....
Once again you made click on the like button without even watching the video. After watching it I’m happy you’re enjoyed it. Bananarama was really the campiest artist during their Stock Aitken and waterman era, but the best bit is that they have released a huge amount of hits before, during and after that phase.I’ve seen here a lot of comments and suggestions already, but one of my all time favourites was forgotten by the fans which is “Love, truth and honesty”. Camp and pop at its extreme. Enjoy the ride! It’ll be a fun one. 😂😂
Oh thank you so much for taking the time and binge watch some of Bananarama's vidz 👍🙏🤗 I love that you're obsessed with Love Comes 😛🦁 ... Yes, Love Comes is off their 2009 album called 'Viva' ✌

Clearly Bryson, you made a bunch of vids over Christmas and are holding out on us!!! If there's some more Depeche, you need to drop it!!! O some other British alternative (Smiths, New Order, etc). You just do!
You might almost enjoy Bananarama's songs "Robert De Niro Is Waiting" (1984), ""It Ain't What You Do (It's the Way That You Do It)" with Fun Boy Three (1982), "Tripping on Your Love" (1991) and "Look on the Floor (Hypnotic Tango)" (2005).
Great reaction please check out their tracks 'Preacher man' and 'Long train running ' I think you will love them the bass lines are fabulous and I know you like a good bass line 😀
Clicked this once I saw this bananarama some great songs if you do more bananarama can I recommend movin on , preacher man, trick of the night, look on the floor and stuff like that some among my favourites for the ladies
I'm missing the BEST songs from this fun trio: Robert DeNiro's waiting and It's a Cruel Summer! :) But thanks for doing these! One of my favorite bands in the 80's ☺
Gotta love the Nanas! There latest album was from 2019 called "In Stereo" and it's pretty darn good featuring a track called "Stuff Like That" I also think you will like anything off the 2005 album "Drama" and the 2009 "Viva" album - Thanks for your great reactions, you are always so honest...
I love the girls and even today they look gooood. 😀 The craziest fact about 80s Pop music is even when you heard it for the first time you think you know or heard it before. And another fact is it stays in your head forever. So catchy 😜
Trick of the Night & Rough Justice are my 2 personal faves and try these 2 as well by them Look On The Floor (Hypnotic Tango) & Move In My Direction - there is also a video of that one under the name of Bearnanarama with bears in it instead of Keren & Sara LOL
As others have suggested definitely check out Shakespears Sister. They were a duo one of which was Siobhan who formed the band after leaving Bananarama. Their song “Stay” is unlike anything else. Think Celine Dion meets Siouxsie and the Banshees 😁
Sibohan was married to Dave Stewart. They divorced in 1996. And Keren (the brunette) is/was in a relationship with Andrew Ridgley of Wham (they have a son together, broke up in 2017 & got back together in 2019).

Listen, I don't want to oversell Bananarama to you. BUT as a person with, I hope, decent musical taste, I adore them. And I hope you dive even deeper. I think these videos show that promo films were crucial to Bananarama's success. Three distinct individual personalities came through in every video they made, because no one was the "leader," and I think that was a perfect artistic and commercial choice. Their songs are basically hooks piled on top of hooks with a few nonsense lyrics to glue the structure together. Dallin and Woodward are a dynamite songwriting duo, and are criminally undervalued as such. Nothing in the world would prevent you from doing another four-video deep dive on Bananarama. Here are my suggestions: *Love Don't Live Here* (2010), *Stuff Like That* (2018), *Look On The Floor* (2005), and *Preacher Man* (1991).
I think you'd enjoy 'Move in My Direction' and 'I Can't Help It'. Also you would probably love another awesome '80s girl group, Exposé! 'Let Me Be The One' and 'Come Go With Me' are soooooooooooooooo OMG. 😍😍😍
Do I mega miss this era - Bananarama didn't even pretend to be all about highly produced slick dance routines that wasn't what they were but what they were off the scale of ability is singing great harmonies of just fun infectious tunes and where their equally fun personalities were all clear to see, with of course the British hit factory of SAW more than eager to provide for them.
Bananarama supporting Lalaneeneenoonaa on the charity single of Help is a bit of a joy. Try to watch the whole thing with the Paula Yates interview - it was all for Comic Relief in the 80s. Also, Look on the Floor is a current favourite of mine.
Love Bananarama! Side, note, Andrew Ridgeley (from Wham) is married to one of the women from Bananarama (sorry, can’t remember which one). I don’t think you’ve done Expose…you should (Let me be the one, When I looked at him, Seasons Change, Point of no Return)

Welcome to 1 of the classiest trio's of a girlgroup who always looked amazing whilst still not looking half naked on whatever tv show/ top of the pops etc. they were on and had multiple hits of just pure music joy, this group really did make great music over multiple decades all through 80's and after. I mean they really did have an infectious sense of fun whilst performing whether their videos or in person the kind of thing that music these days so sorely lacks and sort of staying power and talent girlgroups today just don't get near to.
Welcome to the party!! I had a smile on my face watching your reaction. Been a fan since 1986 and More Than Physical music vidéo made me gay!! LOL... I had the chance to see them 3 times on stage. I'm the only drag queen who is doing Bananarama on stage seriously (performances vidéos on my channel) ... captivating their sense of fun... My drag attitude is based on theirs. And Your Lucky they just put up a new music vidéo in the last hour!! Masquerade... Cheers Then from Montréal Québec. xx
Love your reaction videos 👍 Bananarama have a new album out now July 2022 ‘Masquerade’ it’s a stylish synths dance music album led by Bananaramas signature grown up pop beat, Their 2018 album ‘love in stereo’ is also well worth a listen 🎧 I think you will enjoy both albums very much 🤩
Simple catchy tunes. Try: Only Your Love (Madonna's Express Yourself but made for a five pound note) Tripping on Your Love ( It was the 90s!) Nathan Jones ( the most amazing crap dancing ever put to film) Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye(Anthemic)
I've always had a bit of animosity towards the single I Want You Back, because it was when. Siobhan left the group and replaced her and for the life of me I can't think of the girls name. It'll come to me eventually lol. I don't want to cheat and look it up cuz I like to write these comments in the moment... But anyways I digress. I didn't like the way they re-recorded the song and the video without her, even though it was the Last singles with her on the recorded album version , and they rerecorded the single edit with Jacquie , I knew I remember her name lol. Nothing against her. I liked her on the next album definitely but just didn't like how this went down
these videos span like 30 years. they have been around since beginning of the 80s when they were a huge influence on Madonna who clearly copied much of their dress sense when she debuted.
I think you are the first to get it. You saw the drag queen element right of the bat.. Now seriously can you tell me which ones are boys? I'll trust your judgement
All 3 or 4. One of the originals went off to do some weird death rock gender goth. My first tip off was inability to sing or dance just dressup in drag. The music was very good on some of their hits.
The cool thing about "I Heard A Rumour" is that Bananarama still performs the video's choreography onstage for the song & has for decades.
Oh my gosh reminds me of summer of 1987 or 1988! Loooove
So does the whole audience!

Bananarama was the kind of ladies that made me think of a wholesome rencontre à 3 (if you know french, dont tell anyone,if not.....dont make me translate *giggles* ) Holy partycrackers, theyr genes are out of this world. They still look smashing today! No puns intended 😏But yes,i LOVE Bananarama!
You need to check out their new album "Masquerade" - just released
Bananarama are def' the greatest girl band ever
How about Rick Ashley "Cry For Help"
Please react to their song " Movin on " 1992,
The campest thing everI ! lol
You would love them doing Love In The First Degree live at the Brit awards 1988.You should check it out my friend.
Epic track mate x
Cheers Then from Montréal Québec. xx
Thank you so much for watching!! 😊❤️
Stock Aitken Waterman overload!
Best known for drinking London (or anywhere) dry! Super, cheap, delicious fun, that made a very calculated fortune.
Love your reaction videos 👍
Bananarama have a new album out now
July 2022 ‘Masquerade’
it’s a stylish synths dance music album led by Bananaramas signature grown up pop beat,
Their 2018 album ‘love in stereo’ is also well worth a listen 🎧 I think you will enjoy both albums very much 🤩
Thank you!
One of the girls married Andrew from Wham, these would get you up dancing as well ,produced by same company as Rick Astley and Kylie in the eighties
Is that Jussie Smollett dancing? He certainly fell on his feet. :P
Looove Bananarama
Simple catchy tunes.
Try:
Only Your Love (Madonna's Express Yourself but made for a five pound note)
Tripping on Your Love ( It was the 90s!)
Nathan Jones ( the most amazing crap dancing ever put to film)
Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye(Anthemic)
you should have done Love in the First Degree, and I can't Help it instead of the last two
You need to see & hear "Movin' On"
Please react to their song “It ain’t what you do it’s the way that you do it” with Fun Boy 3, music video. Enjoyed.
Dude, you reacted to Bananarama videos and left out Venus? 🤷🏽♀️😳 Oh my. You must go back review this vid. It’s definitely worth it!
I’ve already reacted to Venus 😊
Marilyn Manson could have scored a US top 10 with a cover of this. I'm glad he didn't bother.
You should definitely listen to Shakespears sister too
My favourite song of Bananarama is I Can't Help It.I think you might like the video too
Hope you check out Shakespears Sister with Siobhan Fahey from Bananarama
You didn't watch Venus, their biggest hit.

When I was a wee boy some of my first feelings of lust came from watching Bananarama videos. Also, I decided I really liked eating bananas.
I actually despise bananas, but I love Bananarama!
Check out Help with Lananeeneenoonoo 🤣
This is 80s and very cheesy pop happy bouncy care free music ..
Wait. You're gay? Just kidding...
😂😂😂
