- How to share files between a Hyper-V host and its virtual machines
-Open Hyper-V Manager
-Create a new internal virtual switch (e.g. "Internal Network Connection")
-Go to your Virtual Machine and create a new Network Adapter -choose "Internal Network Connection" as virtual switch
-Start the VM
-Assign both your host as well as guest an IP address as well as a Subnet mask (IP4, e.g. 10.10.10.5 (host) / 10.10.10.10 (guest) and 255.0.0.0)
-Open cmd both on host and guest and check via "ping" if host and guest can reach each other (if this does not work disable/enable the network adapter via the network settings in the control panel, restart...)
-If successfull create a folder in the VM (e.g. "VMShare"), right-click on it - Properties - Sharing - Advanced Sharing - checkmark "Share this folder" - Permissions - Allow "Full Control" -Apply
Now you can share as many files and folders as you want between the host and the VM guest, and you also have internet access inside the Virtual machines.
That's all
Thanks for watching,if you like this tutorial ,please like and share
What a rigmarole - I just wanted to drag and drop. I think I will change back to VMWare - much more straightforward.
Am trying but the network adapter part fails to connect. You suggest disabling, enabling the adapter, but again, it's not getting internet nor allowing me to ping all ways. I've tried disabling/enabling from both sides (VM & host).
You are amazing bro, thank you :)
thank you its really so easy but what if the vm were Linux ??? what is the command in linux insteed of map
tried the method and it works, I have created only 1 ShareFolder and set permission to allow Change&Read
THX bro you are the best
Thanks.
Thx m8
I have a nat network set up and I just created a shared folder on my desktop.
i automaticly get an APIPA adres?
Is there an easier way ?

Sooo much easier in VMWare. Why does anyone use this garbage?
