I got 3 of these mustang II kits and 2 of the cougar kits. I built one of the mustang II and I told myself never again. But watching your video on this kit is a brilliant approach on this almost impossible kit. Thank you so much. I am going to try your technique on the mustang and the cougar kits. Thanks for the video.
This is a great tutorial series! I have two of these kits, hoping they're relatively headache free but from some of the comments I see this kit has some serious issues and this series is very helpful!
I owned that one, the coupe came in ruby red with some metal flocks as if metallic red, that coupe/convertible was the mastermind of Lee Iacocca VP of Ford then and a good designer too
When I was starting out a typical build time would be probably around 20hrs or so. I recently did a 10hr build, see link below. I think my typical build times now are around 80-90hrs. Some guys take several months, even years for their builds so it really is up to you and how much detail you want to put into it. Just start building and see where it goes. ua-cam.com/video/g-9JrsqEaEo/v-deo.html
The one thing I notice is current modellers never look at real cars, real cars have defects ALL over the place. They were designed and built to be driven not be museum pieces, so if a mistake happens and your fix isn't perfect it's fine, it's more realistic that way. I worked in dealerships and have seen factory "Orange Peel", small dings even uneven gaps around hoods and doors. It's fine stop nit picking and get everyone in the hobby to let loose their panic stricken anxieties about everything needing to be perfect. It's not and never was even on those Million dollar cars, there's always a covered mistake or some minor defect. Good video just be easier on yourself, no car in real life is Perfect nor should a model even if it is a commission.
I agree, all cars have flaws and your modeling experience is your modeling experience. You can make it what you want. Every car, or model I do has flaws. I was at an international competition and some of us began playing "who can spot the flaws" on some of the most competitive builds I have ever seen. You can push yourself if you want but there is a balance. You can drive yourself crazy trying to make your builds absolutely perfect in every way. It is your hobby, build to enjoy, otherwise, what's the point.

try a photo-etched saw blade for the door gap
I will try that. Thanks
I've got this same model. I've started it but it's not finished yet. I just don't have the free time I used to.
That does happen. Good luck with the build.
How long does it typically take to make/paint a car like this?
