You can use water gel crystals, the type used for gardening. Much much cheaper. Wilko is cheap for a tub of it.

Hi guys - thanks for the review - very helpful - just to let you know where you can get the absorbent sachets - I work in a lab and we 'vernagel' for absorbency for liquid waste from samples taken from patients before discard. I did a search and you can buy them on amazon and they will work the same as the sachet you get with the kit
Just use cat litter.
You can use cat litter instead of the gel.

Hi Guys, thanks for the review. Sorry about the injury! I’m sure have worked this out by now but if you just hold the seat and give it a shake, the toilet pops up nice and easy for you. Always worth checking the hinges have clicked into place though.... all the best, Andrew (CarpLife Products)

So it's unsafe unless you set it up in a way that goes against common sense. It's clearly dangerous as seen in the video. It would be better if it was designed properly so as it doesn't cause harm!
