The commentary is literally the worst things about these videos. Music and video footage and voice on point, all let down by a narrator who doesn't know how to get to the point.
I've always collected GMT's, before they came back into fashion and I was worried about them dying off. The Tudor is a no brainer because of the in house movement. I'd like to get both. Swap my beater Boldr for the Baltic and the Tudor for going out The Baltic is a good v good watch
I think one of the missing ones now on the crowded GMT panorama is the latest Glycine Combat GMT in bronze case and leather strap (with the chocolate dial as a winner in my opinion). Is an ETA 2993 movememt (or Sellita) so not a real GMT like the Tudor/Rolex (with the independent hour hand) but is ok if you need a 42mm and your wrist is big

I’m loving the look of the Baltic’s and that gmt with the aqua bezel is seriously calling to me. However even in just a few short minutes you can tell the finishing on the Tudor is a class or two above. That being said I wouldn’t say no to owning either.
Neither. Mido Ocean Star GMT. Priced close to Baltic , not in-house, yet great Swiss movement with 80h power reserve and diver/GMT in one. All the specs are there, plus on top of that no childish 'Pepsi' colors.
The Soprod movement I would argue is above a Powermatic. Thinner, more refined, similar to a 2892. And it's actually based on a Japanese design, which was also used by Seiko in their upper-most range of watches, Credor (of course, this was a higher grade version, but still).
@@smashexentertainment676 I sort of have it too with my Khaki Field Mechanical, well without the "matic" part. Not saying it's bad by any means, no problems whatsoever with it. It's a good day when Watchfinder releases a new video. The Baltic is pretty, but stretch a little and you've got the Tudor. And it does so much more than just being better looking if you ask me.
IMO the achilles heel of most sub $2k GMT watches is that the watch has to be entirely reset when you change timezones, defeating the main sell of the complication. I'm not sure if this Baltic has the same issue but it's likely the case
I don't know about you guys but my GMT Master II Black is better than theses two. 5/6 k better probably not. But it's better. I know because like you I own one.
Tudor haven't been made in the Rolex building for years, the in-house movement is made by another Swiss manufacturer under licence, the straps and bracelets are imported from places like Thailand as are the boxes and they are assembled on their own assembly line in a different building from Rolex. Having said all of that I still prefer the look of the Tudor over the Baltic!

Never liked the Tudor GMT, clunky and unfinished looking and odd with no crown guards but Tudor threw money at the press crowd for sure. Too big and bulky, and I have a wrist size over 7.5". Baltic however I've considered time and time again.
One thing Baltic doesn't list on their website is the size of their straps, which are very small. The Aquscaphe bracelet won't fit a 7.5 in. wrist, and the tropical straps barely do.
They updated the website about 30mins ago. GMT models are on there now, not just as a teaser. Official release-date is a week from now ... there's a countdown timer underneath the "notify me" box.
Beautifully filmed. The build quality looks great on both as far as yo can tell from the images, but the Baltic is too small for me personally. Would I always wish I’d bought the Tudor ?
It's a classic design from Tudor, I personally think it's a breath of fresh air from the mercedes/baton/arrow hands that you see all the time, and everywhere.
I hope someday soon, watch makers realise the importance of being able to operate the GMT function using the Bezel. It feels intuitive, I recently witnessed it on an IWC Timezones; unfortunately that watch is just too large to wear on my wrist. However, the functionality is amazing.
I've been mulling this dilemma now for a couple of years, probably from when this video first came up and finally found myself close to going for the Baltic...until just now. I just realized the error of having the bezel marked as 24. There is no 24th hour in a day. When telling time, you can say 23:59 and 00:01 but once the clock reaches "midnight", it instantly (or just about) resets to 0:00. I know it's rather petty but that's my story. Seriously, just about everything else about the watch I love.
I've never REALLY liked the snowflake hands (I always have to talk myself into not minding them) and I've always liked the symmetry of a 6 o'clock date window. So, yeah, the Baltic should do the trick - plus the design and overall proportions are even more true to it's vintage forebears. Yummy.
Anyone knows which country is best to buy new watch from? In consideration of price and taxes. Also same thing with second hand watches regarding price, taxes and originality.
I'd like for Baltic to switch to the new true GMT miyota movement. I definitely prefer the more subdued Baltic bezel variants... The Pepsi insert color choices isn't really working for me. You picked the only one I don't like the look of. Though true to vintage patina'd homage colors. The tutor GMT sizing doesn't sit right for me.... I prefer their standard BB58 fit.
The problem with value arguments is that you’ll always end up in a Seiko*, which aren’t bad. (*Or Oris, if you want either Swiss-made or mechanical GMT/Chronograph)
I got the zelos horizons 2 gmt. I love it except for the midnight blue bezel is hard to read in lume, and the GMT movement is a caller GMT rather than a True or Traveller's GMT. Also the screw link bracelet needs locktitie to resize. apart from that i love it.
Great production as always, but it has come to my attention that lately there’s been a flux of Rolex‘s references. As an enthusiast myself, I can understand how the Rolex (and family) brand has been the benchmark of watches for the common mass and I’m not going to deny their quality, design and also brand equity, but with the current market over saturated with Rolexes be it from their pieces, replicas, homages and fakes; I find it a bit exhausting and overdone. Sure, from the start this channel has been featuring Rolexes rather frequently, but with the growth of this channel along with the community as well, I would’ve thought the hype for the brand and also their designs would’ve dialled down a bit and you bringing something new to the table for enthusiasts alike and also for the general mass. I’m aware that you’re running a business and Rolex is a major part of your business. But I’d like to see something different from your catalogue.
Sorry if it sounded a bit on the offence or made a mistake. I’m open for discourse and suggestions! I might add another piece for my collection, but enough GMT for now. A Planet Ocean GMT for a more casual occasions and a JLC Master Geography for work and formal functions.
Beautiful piece but this is €1200 on BoR, the new Lorier GMT is c€700 based on what I've seen on IG. Both use same movement, why is the Baltic so much more? Higher level of finishing?
1200Euros on BOR is corresponding to the VAT included price (if you live in EU) 700€ for Lorier is without, you should add 20-25% for europe. It's from 930euros for us without taxes. Also Lorier use plexy bezel and glass which are... very less expansive, and much more difficult to be used on a modern sportwatch. (Even vintage inspired) Our sapphire bezel + double domed glas cost more than a ETA2824.
From an aesthetic point of view, the Baltic wins hands down. The Swiss movement is also beautifully jeweled and decorated. The Tudor's problem is still the overly thick slab side case which is very off putting. Until Tudor makes a thinner 39mm GMT, I will never consider one. And lets be honest, the Tudor Black Bay series is a homage to the 1950's no crown guards Submariners and GMT's yet brands like Baltic and Steinhart are doing high quality and better renditions of these 1950's models at less than a fraction of the price.
I really like the Baltic, but the bracelet/strap options are putting me off. Never been a fan of beads of rice or rubber straps. I think there should be at least one option of a decent, well designed bracelet for a watch in that price range...
@@BALTICWatches I know, I already looked on the site because I do really like the watch itself, and I'm well aware it's very subjective, but in my opinion both the BOR and the tropic (rubber) give the watch a 'cheaper' look. The BOR kinda looks like the Rolex Jubilee on the GMT II, but it seems far less balanced in design. Then again, 'de gustibus et coloribus non est disputandum'... Maybe in the future a different bracelet will be available that is more to my liking.
Im really torn, I think the baltic is an amazing buy, im just struggling with the font. It feels like a number font that would be in a children's book. Sigh.
I own a Steinhart Vintage GMT and to me that watch is the epitome of just right. It has much more of the 6542 feel than the Baltic and it costs less. Even though I own more expensive stuff, it's the watch I wear most often.
@@paulfong90 Yes I might be on the wrong channel, I love the macro shots and the visual ambiance, but I absolutely can't stand the cheesy story telling. It's not my thing sorry, I'm more into the actual watch than the blabber that doesn't make sense.

It's an absolutely fascinating part of horological history that a lot of people don't even know exists.
After owning the original Aquascaphe, I've since purchased the Explorer I and the 39mm OP. Both are great watches that I enjoy but nothing wears as well on my wrist as the Baltic. It's phenomenal. Their beads of rice bracelet is incredibly comfortable.
@@JCDofNYC : I am fairly certain that will not be the case. I have a beads of rice bracelet on my Heuer Autavia and it is the most comfortable bracelet I have ever worn. I am going to go for the Baltic on the bracelet.
The Baltic has better sizing, but the Tudor is a traveller's GMT, whereas the Baltic is a business GMT. For me, the chunkiness of the Tudor is disqualifying. I'm simply not going to pay the extra $3k for something that is much bigger than the Baltic. And you just know that Tudor will come out with a smaller GMT within 5 years.

there actually is a 24th hour…. right after 23:00 is the 24th hour. Sure it’s counted as 0 o’clock, but it is still the 24th hour
@@RandomVideos-re9ux not if there's a zero hour.
Apples and Oranges. However, I like both!
Love the hands on the Baltic, beats the Mercedes
I've never REALLY liked the snowflake hands (I always have to talk myself into not minding them) and I've always liked the symmetry of a 6 o'clock date window. So, yeah, the Baltic should do the trick - plus the design and overall proportions are even more true to it's vintage forebears. Yummy.
Baltic is not a true GMT.
Anyone knows which country is best to buy new watch from? In consideration of price and taxes.
Also same thing with second hand watches regarding price, taxes and originality.
Team Baltic - Domed sapphire crystal. Sapphire bezel. The dial is vintage but not not hopelessly derivative like a Steinhart or even a Squale.
The dial is following what we have done with the AQUASCAPHE classic diver.
@@BALTICWatches And what a delightful design to share across the product line. Not the first Baltic I've lusted over.
Just a shame the Baltic is too small for me, would take the Tudor everyday
What a refreshing channel this is as opposed to the Rolex fest we see everywhere else. You speak so much sense.
I just bought a zelos horizons GMT having not fallen for the Baltic GMT. It will be interesting to see how zelos holds up compared to my BB GMT.
I got the zelos horizons 2 gmt. I love it except for the midnight blue bezel is hard to read in lume, and the GMT movement is a caller GMT rather than a True or Traveller's GMT. Also the screw link bracelet needs locktitie to resize. apart from that i love it.
@@JinKee I noticed a few colour combinations make the bezel hard to read I have ordered the frost variant.
Great writing and narration as always. Inspiring.
The blue grey one looks so nice!
i really appreciated the humour in the video. kudos!
That Baltic is just beautiful!!!
Beautiful piece but this is €1200 on BoR, the new Lorier GMT is c€700 based on what I've seen on IG. Both use same movement, why is the Baltic so much more? Higher level of finishing?
Would like to know myself. I've found the Lorier finishing really good!
@@BALTICWatches thanks for response and good to know how the cost is arrived at. Really appreciate it.
@@BALTICWatches Thanks for that. I'm also curious to know what happens when us fools in the UK when we leave the EU. Just saying!
I really miss the two other background music tracks. Please bring them back
Just right would be owning the 2.
Isn't this supposed to be announced on 11/27?
I don't know what is the deal with these re - re - releases nowadays.
The end of the teasing was scheduled today. You will have a week to check the full GMT pages and orders will start 27th as scheduled. 😉
That Tudor GMT is my grail
About to watch the whole video but already prefer the Tudor as it will let me age the aluminium bezel myself 🤷🏼♂️
What do you think about blue Certina PH200M? It is sub 1000$ and could it be the best value for money?
This one comes on tropic strap as well. The BOR is optional.
@@mdesmet9111 Thanks for the insight. We are always working on something ;)
I closed my eyes, feel bamboozled
Im really torn, I think the baltic is an amazing buy, im just struggling with the font. It feels like a number font that would be in a children's book. Sigh.
What does "Officially Certified" on Tudor dial mean? Doesn't "Chronometer" mean that the movement is COSC certified?
Yes
great video
you had me at "tickled the bell"
I own a Steinhart Vintage GMT and to me that watch is the epitome of just right. It has much more of the 6542 feel than the Baltic and it costs less. Even though I own more expensive stuff, it's the watch I wear most often.
Considered the Rolex and the Tudor, and I went for a Grand Seiko GMT. No regrets, even if I spend all mine time in one timezone these days.
I went for the Tudor and I wish I had looked harder at the GS before I bought.
I'm having a hard time with chit-chat, get on with the review already
WF story-telling is what makes the videos so special. Perhaps you're on the wrong channel?
@@paulfong90 Yes I might be on the wrong channel, I love the macro shots and the visual ambiance, but I absolutely can't stand the cheesy story telling. It's not my thing sorry, I'm more into the actual watch than the blabber that doesn't make sense.
@@paulfong90 Usually doesn't take half the video though...
@@AlexandreCopper you, sir, have good taste. This is awful writing. Some of the worst I’ve ever had to endure... so much so that I simply couldn’t force myself to endure it for more than a couple of minutes. That people like this kind of “story-telling” bears witness to the fact that true storytelling is mostly dead, thanks to cheap newsstand bestsellers, silly Hollywood films and bite size communication platforms.
Baltic 100%!! Even over the Lorier Hyperion.
Anyone got any idea what the hell this guy is banging on about?
I think its a watch video, but maybe its was a marketing class all along...
Pretty sure it wasn't about fishing.
Hope that helps.
@@CymInUA Ah, cool ok thanks for the heads up.
Please turn up the master volume!!
Please do a video about vintage chronographs and how using generic movements from Venus, Valjoux, Landeron, and Lemania built the foundations of today's iconic chronographs like the Breitling Navitimer, Tissot PR516, and even the Omega cal. 321 that went to the moon.
Thanks ! 🥰
I was curious about the rice bead bracelet. I like the way it looks, but was concerned it might be a hair-puller, ala the jubilee on my Date Just.
I own one of the earliest aquascaphes for about 2 years now and I am really happy with it. I also made a review about that watch on my channel.
