- For our final stop in Door County and Wisconsin, we headed to Door County Creamery, a local goat farm, for a tour and to eat delicious goat milk cheese and gelato! We learned so much about goats, how they milk them, AND got to play with BABY GOATS! 😍

I think the first time we came across one of your videos was with you guys kayaking across Washington Lake in Seattle and staying in a small houseboat. We really love Washington State as our daughter lives in Port Orchard and we visit her regularly from Wisconsin. We caught up with you guys again when I saw the Olympic Peninsula & Mt Storm King video. It was outstanding! But what really got me was the Mt. Rainier video with the Grove of the Patriarchs and Silver Falls. Being of the older generation now we know where we want to go on our next visit to Port Orchard. I wouldn't have known about these places if it wasn't for you guys and your off the cuff exploring. And your Door County videos were great as well with Canaan lighthouse and Cave Point which everyone around here loves. But the Goat farm and the baby goats blew me away! And this is right in our own backyard and I never knew of this place. Keep traveling safe and exploring new out of the way places. That is what makes your videos so interesting and entertaining.
We love Washington! It was the BEST home for us for 3 years! We are so happy we can give y'all some places to explore, especially these cute goats. We hope y'all can visit them sometime!
A lot more of Wisconsin to discover. Brats, beers, supper clubs, brandy old fashions, state parks, lakes, rivers, streams. I could go on and on.
Yup! Hard to see it all, but we are happy with what we chose.

OMGosh…those goats and kids were SOOOOO cuuuute! I loved their different ears and how they came up so close to the camera! Their noises are just adorable…everything about them is adorable…Kathryn, the kid on your back was like wearing a goat backpack! 😂 Listening to you all laugh made my morning! Oh my goodness, that group of baby goats running at you was so adorable. I almost teared up just watching that sweet sight! I've always had a soft spot in my heart for lambs but the cuteness of the baby goats gives them a run for their money. What an amazing tour! And I love that Harvest Host location. The chance to stay on farms like that looks so appealing. We also loved it when you were at the alpaca farm. Those are the types of experiences we want to have as well.

SO much giggling! It was just as amazing as the alpacas, although with the alpacas we got to hang out for hours. We never wanted to leave the goats!

We did! We actually stayed at a hotel for a few nights (due to the heat and humidity) overlooking it too! Adam loved getting to see it!

It was soooo good! We were slightly nervous, as goat milk can be strong, but you'd hardly know! And his friend Dan who collects watches sent that to him a while back. It's his non hiking watch!
I completely enjoyed this episode. Mainly cause I can't have cow milk! I have never had goat gelato! And you are getting closer to where i used to summer in Northern Michigan! Hope you guys go back next year!
Oooo you gotta try goat milk gelato! It was SO good! I know goat milk can sometimes have a strong taste, but they said on the tour that they pasteurize it immediately, which reduces that strong taste whereas some places let the milk sit for a while, which makes it very goat-y.

This is SO cool! Where do you guys find all these local places to tour? We are planning a long trip from STL - Santa Fe - Durango -Colorado Springs & i'd LOVE to take my kids to see some local business & learn about the area!

Hey Ryan! Door County is so nice! We only stayed in the van when we visited there so we don’t have any experience at any accommodations. We camped at Peninsula State Park and it was nice!

You do a great job....but we're confused...why are you always rushing off to a new place....you set your schedule, so adjust it, stay and explore more!!!
We spent the first 4 months on the road this year traveling very slow, but the rest of the year is more of a quick, road trip style of exploring. There are many factors as to why we cannot stay places longer. For one, there is nowhere really to sleep for free in the Midwest and East, so our options are limited and we cannot just linger in one area for a while without spending a ton of money for campgrounds. Also, the heat and humidity in Wisconsin and Michigan was BRUTAL at times. We had to get a few hotels because it was just too hot to be in the van, so we didn't want to stay longer. We also would rather explore the cities in the Midwest not in the van, as cities are harder in the van for many reasons.
Lastly, we are going to New England for the fall (and have commitments booked, which we cannot change), which means we have to move quickly to get there. We will never be able to do it all, but we chose the activities, places, and route that hit up the spots that we wanted to visit the most, so we are happy with our plans. There's a lot behind the scenes that impacts our decisions and we will always choose what is best for us.
