The holdup is it's not mandatory it's voluntary. Screw this law you don't need a Real ID driver's license just use a passport card (select it when ordering your passport) or just your passport. No one needs this stinking real ID. California enforces the real ID as if you were a criminal, and if you refuse to get it they start to stereotype you at the DMV. I pick the normal driver's license without the real ID and then caught the DMV employee behind the desk rummaging papers and changing my application so it looks like I wouldn't notice while I'm standing behind the plexiglass. Get out of here California DMV. My facial recognition will stay off your servers.
