@@TechVibeReviews1 You are talking about Odin in his older days, after he sacrificed his eye for wisdom. in his youth Odin was a savage war hungry bastard. But Thor is still quite young for a Asgardian, and clearly has the potential to become much more powerful than Odin. But remember, from the comics, we know that Odin once Knocked out Galactus with one punch. And that was old Odin.
I think Odin was really saying that Thor currently wields the same amount of power that Odin held after his (Odin's) many years of battle experience. What remains is untapped power that Thor will harness in time making him even more powerful that Odin himself. If Thor had Odin's knowledge and battle experience, Thanos would have hid from Thor just as he was hiding from Odin. Thanos only made his move for the stones after Odin died knowing that Odin would have wiped the floor with him.

Of course... Marvel's foreshadowing is insanely spot on. And since he said "You're stronger" and i doubt we've seen him "stronger" yet. Remember Odin banished Hella for most of if not just about all of Thor's life that would indicate we have to see feats on par with that one in order to see him as "stronger"
I think if in thor love and thunder thor face gorr the God butcher he might became or start his journey towards becoming rune king thor so if he's got the odin force plus that of rune king thor power he would be pretty much above odin's level by a lot meaning he can kill celestial. And I strongly believe that since mcu made scarlet witch so powerful they wouldn't leave the mcu unbalanced so rune king thor might be happening in the mcu plus the celestials are introduced so we have yet to see.
I believe Thor's power is at an extraordinary level. Remember, when Thor talks with the Odin's spirit, Odin says that Thor is more powerful than him in the present tense. Then we see Thor exercise his power to manipulate thunder to strike down Hela in all her hubris. I'm sure that the members of The Marvelous Wave know this but in the Marvel comic book story arcs, which are light years ahead of the MCU, have Thor losing just not one, but both eyes to increase his sight and power exponentially. Thank you for another awesome video!
@@naeemislam1105 Hello! Remember, strength and power are synonyms. Sure Odin wants to motivate his son for the sake of good but he is also telling the truth. Thor's power increases over time as he continues to grow as a god but also spiritually.
But what about Hela? Is she more powerful than Odin too? I asked this because she easily overpowered Thor and that led to the decision to unleash Surtur to destroy Asgard.
Thor eventually becomes a Herald of Galactus. So not only was he as powerful and eventually more powerful than Odin (although less experienced with said Odin/Thor force), he then had the power cosmic to wield.
He will realize and awaken his full potential, there is a reason the play that part in the story line. Comic Thor is already stronger than Odin and I have no doubt they put in the condition of bean out of his state of mind to weaken him in Endgame. But now he has to face Gor...
The Odinforce in Ragnorak was confusing. When Odin passed on, the force became Hela's as she was his first born. This is why Thor and Loki had to give Serta the power of the eternal flame in order to defeat her. Once she was defeated by Serta, the Odinforce became Thor's. He couldn't tap into it until he got his hands on Stormbreaker, which is why his power blew up. Then in Endgame he lost that edge a little bit due to his state of mind. I think in Love & Thunder he'll become a lot more powerful as the movie will probably have some sort of element of him figuring out his issues much like how Iron Man 3 was the same way for Tony Stark.
Also, according to events in the MCU, it would appear that Spiderman is likely the third strongest Avenger behind Thor and Hulk. Evidence: In Winter Soldier, Bucky throws a punch at Cap who catches it on his shield and barely withstands the blow even then. In Ultron, Spiderman EASILY catches Bucky's punch with ONE HAND, and comments on how cool it is that it's a mechanical arm. In Infinity War, Cull Obsidian completely hammers Ironman in his new nano armor with his hammer-weapon. Again, Spiderman easily stops Culls weapon while making casual conversation with Stark. He also smacks a GLOVED Thanos around, something that Thor couldn't do to a gloveless Thanos. MCU really messed up the power levels on the characters. Thor can lift 100 tons, a weakened Thor at least five tons. Yet, when Thanos is pressing Stormbreaker into his chest Thor can't even lift him off the ground.
The potential was always there but I don't think Thor himself even knows just how deep his own potential runs. If he can truly learn to tap into it, then he definitely has the potential to surpass his father. I just really hope they explore the Odinforce itself a lot more in the future.
I believe Thor has more raw strength than Odin had in his prime. But Thor doesn’t have the thirst for knowledge and power like his father had in his youth which puts him at a major disadvantage.
He didn’t use bifrost against thanos, he got manhandled in that fight, was one dimensional and always went for the head. He had a mental block becoming fat, lost strength, and couldn’t bring out his power to full potential
Oooo i really love these talks on Odin and Hella's power levels. In my opinion Odin couldn't physically beat Hella. When he said her powers will become "limitless" once she gets to Asgard he's referring to her physical strength and regenerative capabilities. I mean she looked completely unbothered by getting impaled from behind in that one fight scene and had no signs of slowing down after being hit with a huge lightning bolt. I would go soo far as to say she probably got up just as quick if not quicker than Thanos when fighting cap w/mjolnir... But Odin most likely played off of his knowledge of dark magic with the help of his Queen... Together they used a spell that was out of Hella's expertise... But physically, I think Hella was the strongest Villain we've seen soo far. With the exception of Surtur. Which i would love to see a backstory of how Odin either tricked or beat Surtur the first time. Probably costs him a ton of good warriors.
He just now has unlocked this well of power, but unlocking it and using it to its full potential are two different things. He is both close and far from his ultimate power cap
The thing is Thor doesn't truly inherit the Bor/Odin/Thor force until he finds that it is with in him. Currently he only has his own innate power to call upon, which he still has yet to fully tap into. Once he does he will probably find that his father passed the ?force on to him as he realizes the difference between the two. That said Marvel most likely will recon this into something stupid saying that Thor's awakening and power level after Odin's death was due to inheriting the Odin force and the loss of his eye was the signifying factor that such a thing happened.
I don't think Thor is close to be as powerful as Oden only going off the movies so far but I hope they have something happen in Love and Thunder that changes that. Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man were all 3 getting their butts kicked by Thanos in Endgame and I believe at the peak of his power he could of defeated Thanos by himself. I hope the new Thor movie has him realizing he has the Oden Force or at least something has changed and can tell he's much more powerful. If they do have it in this movie I hope they explain exactly what the Oden Force is and how he got it. I'd hate to have to come on UA-cam after the movie has been released for awhile and have to watch someone's video that explains it with better details.
In the comics Odin knew from day one that Thor is more power than him that’s why Odin gave Mjollnir to Thor so he can control his powers and also he was the movie Thor Odin had Stormbreaker ready because Odin was far full of Thor turning bad and destroying the 9 realms (that’s sort of how Thor knew about Stormbreaker) and Thor is more powerful than Odin we haven’t seen it but we will
I think he was talking about Thor's potential. In the comics thor surpasses Odin when he gains full access of the Odin force which becomes the Thor force when Thor gets it. I think thor doesn't have the Odin force yet but he will probably get it in the next movie.
Very clearly Thor was as powerful as ever at the end of Infinity War and was not at full strength in End Game so we will see where they go in Love and Thunder to see how great Thor has become
As far as we know Odin should be able to do everything in the movies he can in the comics. We also know the MCU is loosely based on the Ultimates universe and the characters are, for the most part, slightly stronger than their earth 616 counterparts. So logic would dictate that Odin in the MCU is incredibly, incredibly, powerful.

He already has stormbreaker, a weapon fit for a king! But Odin was too powerful, he was literally able to just speak to Mjolnir and enchant it so no one else could lift it, but if they do they have Thor’s power!! Basically Odin had the ability to bestow power to others so they too can summon lightning! Look at beta ray and cap!
If you want a measurement of Thor power look at Chris Hemsworth physical shapes if you look at Chris in ragnorok he looked like he was is great shape and condition but if you look at him in sneak peaks of Thor love and thunder you notice he's in better condition than previously so if we use that metric that means that Thor's Prime hasn't been seen yet.
Thor's mother is neither Freya or Frigga, but Jörð/Gaia. Odin's bloodline is of the Giants, Thor's is half Giant - half Titan. On Asgard, Thor can summon lightening. On Midgard/Earth, Gaia enhances his power and he can create massive storms. Gaia also has one particular dislike: Her children being hurt. When Thor was killed by the Destroyer, the lightning bolt that hit him when Mjölnir returned to him was not anything he alone could achieve. It was because his mother was enhancing the power to the point of it being a Master-Bolt, which is why Thor looks so shocked when it hit! You wonder why Thor is so powerful? His inheritance was the power and soul of his great grandfather, Buri, the most powerful being in the universe in his lifetime. That power was inherited and enhanced by the soul of Bor, then the soul of Odin, until finally, it came to Thor, whose soul is also connected to the Mother-Titan, Gaia. Thor is connected twice over to the elder powers of the Greater Universe. At this point, it's questionable whether he can actually die?
At face value I had taken Oden saying Thor is more powerful than him as Oden referring to Thors mental and emotional strength. Thor has reached a level of understanding way earlier in life than Oden had. But I also thought it was possible that he meant Thor is more powerful in the way that he has potential he has yet to unlock. How he will come to have and learn to use the Ofenforce
In the comics it's known that Asgardians ONLY get stronger with age. Odin is the strongest because he is the oldest for one. They only get stronger over time, safe for some life altering injury, they are always in their prime.
I think Odin was saying that Thor has the potential to, and eventually will be, stronger than him and I think Oden also meant Thor is stronger in the sense that, by the time of Ragnorok, he doesn't want to conquer and war like Odin and Hela once did, but protect as Odin came to be
I already know they gonna have thor go savage in love in thunder he learned his lesson from thanos about going for the head so I don't think he will hold back

He lived for the fight, for the death of his enemies. At that point in time at the pinnacle of his physical strength, he was stronger than the Thor we see in the movies.
I've always been under the impression Asgardians got more powerful with age.
Somewhat like a Viltrumite
They do, thor at this stage is not even close in terms of feat and power compared to odin... We saw odin feats in the movies and we saw him hold mjonir and heimdall sword like they were nothing. And we also saw hela didn't even try to come back until odin was dead. The author of this video making a video without much knowledge
oh dang, classic loki too. wonder how powerful mcu thor is gonna get one day.
@@Cyrus-rodn45 Hela COULDN'T come back until Odin had died because of the spell he cast to contain her. You seem to be commenting without much knowledge.
@@MikeShabs odin was getting weaker and he couldn't contain her. When he died she came back. Guess u wanted to disprove me as not knowledgeable by basically saying the same thing in a different way 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Odin was much much, much much older and hence had much more experience added to his Odin force. Thor will get there!
I don't think he is more powerful than Odin yet! 🤷
In the MCU he is, Odin was already old and way weaker because of his old age. After Odin died Thor's power has blown up
I guess in his prime Odin would probably be stronger
Yeah the Russo Brothers said themselves he isn't at his full potential and he will be getting stronger in the next up coming movie in love and thunder
@@Ramonnnn Wayyyy stronger... for the moment
Thor not stronger than pops yet. He's getting close though. Love and Thunder I think we'll see Thor finally at his true power and surpass pops.
Nah ,not yet . U can easily tell by all Odin's done Thor has a long way to go. He had to be speaking on his potential...
Honestly, I believe that Thor will eventually match Odin and maybe even be stronger over time
Some of the achievements Thor has in the comics is truly insane making him equally insane in power. To anyone, check out “Thor the End father”.
The only differene between Odin force Thor and Odin is knowledge. Odin was wiser and studied potential enemies more.
I want to see loki get gungnir to channel his magic through and of course control the destroyer which probably survived.
While it was left on asgard the fact it was an apocalypse event he should be able to go get it as shown in the loki show.
destroyer destroyed by thor. that why hydull called thor destroyer. but hammer and shields what ever seem drop main branch time line like rain. ya maybe loki get that like said but think alternate reality destroyer. or use prim parties they go branch reality pick un broken one up. did have theory that red skull peace gungnir spear and destroyed destroyer thought end with hydra who new zolafies room cap and winter solder. so seem left of destroyer arms and legs makes sense tv face would make it into body both red skull and Arron zolofie try harness power gods witch asgurdians. make long story short loki take peace spear from red skull arms and legs listen him as know king or (queen) of asgurd as married to valrkie. who has real power rule asgurd but loki as son odion what give power Marrieage. witch loki agreed none of this. odin said let destroy asgurd again.
I like Odin's question "Are you thor God of hammers😂😂😂it was one of the most inspirational quotes ever
Because he’s the chosen one!! ⚡️
Gods from Nordic mythology, become stronger the older they get, so wait 500 years, you will really see how strong Thor is.
2:53 Odin was NOT in his prime when he made that claim, he was getting ready to DIE. That would be a far cry from being in his Prime.
But Asgardians get more powerful as they age...
@@mattdowds8505 right that had an episode on the show where Thanos used the timestone on Thor and he got insanely strong
@@mattdowds8505 What part of he was about to DIE, aren't you getting?
Thank you for another awesome video!
no he doesn't say he is more powerful. He says hes stronger to motivate him. Use your brain
We need a Odin stand alone show. Of course Anthony Hopkins probably doesn't want to play Odin anymore. But the sometime can play a younger Odin.
I think he has one more awakening before he’s at the old All-Father’s level
Thor eventually becomes a Herald of Galactus. So not only was he as powerful and eventually more powerful than Odin (although less experienced with said Odin/Thor force), he then had the power cosmic to wield.
Reading that gave me cancer
That’s comic Thor not mcu thor but yea I’m liking Donny cates Thor’s
@@tjsdapimp reading is dangerous for some.
He is now just King Thor. But he is defenately strong
In raw potential power inside him, yes. Whether he realizes that power fully in his current state... heavily debatable.
He will realize and awaken his full potential, there is a reason the play that part in the story line.
Comic Thor is already stronger than Odin and I have no doubt they put in the condition of bean out of his state of mind to weaken him in Endgame. But now he has to face Gor...
now this question becomes way more interesting when we account that odin was likely a infinity stone collector at one point in his prime
Wasn't Hela alive when Oden died then wouldn't the Odin force go to her first, as the first born ?
Well, he said passed down to the kings
Man love your vids!
Also, according to events in the MCU, it would appear that Spiderman is likely the third strongest Avenger behind Thor and Hulk. Evidence:
In Winter Soldier, Bucky throws a punch at Cap who catches it on his shield and barely withstands the blow even then.
Could you do a video on how strong was Odin when he was in his prime?
You gotta wonder in Love and Thunder does Thor have rune magic like the Rune King Thor in the comics
I wonder if we get to see Thor’s magic belt that was mentioned in Homecoming…🤔
I think Thor might be more powerful, but in a prime v prime fight, Odin's experience may get him the win
Thor won't eclipse Odin until he finally realizes he is the king of asguard. Takes hi place on the throne.
FINALLY THIS TOPIC IS TALKED ABOUT!!
I really think we'll see an Old King Thor one day on screen and then he will truly be the strongest Avenger, even though I think he is already.
At that Level he is no longer the "stronger" avenger because he would be so OP it won't even be a question.
I think Hulk is strongest there is, but Thor is most powerful.
Give us an MCU Thor that has Odin Force with Rune King added = acted by Chris Hemsworth!
In the comics Odin knew from day one that Thor is more power than him that’s why Odin gave Mjollnir to Thor so he can control his powers and also he was the movie Thor Odin had Stormbreaker ready because Odin was far full of Thor turning bad and destroying the 9 realms (that’s sort of how Thor knew about Stormbreaker) and Thor is more powerful than Odin we haven’t seen it but we will
Runes Thor was a complete badass and god among gods. Thus, we ain't even seen the tip of the iceberg
One can never DO more than his MASTER.
Maybe when Thor gets some of that old man strength.
Good video so far.
I didn’t think it was close. Odin for sure. He was being a good dad and not wanting to see his son lose.
It is every parents goal and ambition to see their children become greater people than they were. Or at least it should be.
I kinda dissagree with this since if Odin are younger and use his full “Odin force” power he is nearly strong as the six infinity stones sooooooo
*flashback to Thor overpowerering infinity gauntlet thanos..* xD
Gungneer. Is the spear of Odin. GUNG-,NEAR. is how it is spoken
The son always becomes stronger than the father but the son is nothing without the father raising him up.
I think he was talking about Thor's potential. In the comics thor surpasses Odin when he gains full access of the Odin force which becomes the Thor force when Thor gets it. I think thor doesn't have the Odin force yet but he will probably get it in the next movie.
We still haven’t seen Thor’s full power and I’m telling u his going to be more powerful than scarlet witch
I don't think so
I wanna see a kinda Thor prequel where we can see Odin in his prime on screen in the MCU i think that would be insane
With the multiverse wars we may get to see them face off with each other
Very clearly Thor was as powerful as ever at the end of Infinity War and was not at full strength in End Game so we will see where they go in Love and Thunder to see how great Thor has become
I bet it sounds like thunder when Thor farts.
Oden Force transfers to Thor and becomes known as…. The Thorce !
Thor's power resides with his confidence in his abilities.
Now say it with me
Gung-nir gung nir
As far as we know Odin should be able to do everything in the movies he can in the comics. We also know the MCU is loosely based on the Ultimates universe and the characters are, for the most part, slightly stronger than their earth 616 counterparts.
So logic would dictate that Odin in the MCU is incredibly, incredibly, powerful.
You got that backwards. 616 characters are more powerful all the way across the board
@@Noah-sj5jm no. No I did not get that backwards. The MCU characters are modeled after the Ultimate universe characters, who are stronger than the main universe characters.
@@berzerkbankie1342 they’re not stronger than the main marvel universe characters. Go read secret wars. Main marvel universe slaps. Reed Richards is the only exception
Thats why thanos never came to collect the stones while Odin was still alive.
I will believe that he is this powerful when I see him killing Hela while she holds all of the Infinity Stones.
Loki isn't the only crafty character, Odin is supposed to be considered as an order of magnitude ahead. Odin's feet point in the opposite direction to his face, which is a perfect example of his misdirection. He is the ultimate strategic thinker, never underestimate the deities' deity!
Depends on the versions of Thor we get in the future. He may lose stormbreaker if Beta Ray Bill gets introduced inMCU
I hope we get to see the same thor we saw in thor ragnarok ones again in next movie
I’m not being funny but I really wanna see them tie in the whole ‘Gaia is thors real mother thing’ in atleast some way shape or form cause it would really give them license to give thor a massive power buff making sense of odin words “no, your stronger”
Him being both the child of an elder god and odin would make perfect sense of him having an insane potential enough to surpass his predecessors
For those that don’t know, the elder gods are primordial gods that once roamed earth, they’re more or less the source if alot of the mythological gods in marvel, one of which we’ve heard referenced is Cthon, the one where Scarlett witches chaos magic comes from
They need to make a movie about prime Odin
I think we're going to see some very cool stuff from Thor
This comment section did not age well... what a joke of a movie love and thunder was..

Now that Thor has the "Odin Force" will he need to regenerate as Odin did from time to time?
Odin has given knowledge to the first scorcerer supreme about magic he knew aggomotto
In the comics it's known that Asgardians ONLY get stronger with age. Odin is the strongest because he is the oldest for one. They only get stronger over time, safe for some life altering injury, they are always in their prime.
Thor is going to be shown to be suuupppeeerrrrr powerful bro... I hope!
The older they get the stronger they get until they die at there strongest. Lets not forget that
Imagine we see the Three Thor’s vs Gorr in the upcoming movie. 🔥🔥
I think Odin was saying that Thor has the potential to, and eventually will be, stronger than him and I think Oden also meant Thor is stronger in the sense that, by the time of Ragnorok, he doesn't want to conquer and war like Odin and Hela once did, but protect as Odin came to be
I already know they gonna have thor go savage in love in thunder he learned his lesson from thanos about going for the head so I don't think he will hold back
I saw something claiming Odin was 300,000 years old
The MCU will continue to nerf Thor ...they will probably make him less powerful than Jane Thor
Odin told Thor what he needed to hear as he was broken mentally. Odin dies and Thor goes on to get his ass royally kicked by Hela and then Thanos.in Endgame. Odin even as he approached his death was the only being strong enough to keep Hela banished.
Odin in ff8 was a super cutter of normal enemies and he did massive to medium damage to final bosses!
Not trying to be mean, or nit pick like a lot of folks do online, but respectfully trying to give constructive critisicm. The video length could have almost been cut in half because there was a LOT of repeating things.
