@@jeffrianbanton5138that's not what they meant. Charmed got a fairly shitty reboot around 2021, so "OG Charmed" they meant the series from the early 2000s, not the shitty reboot.
Every now and then i´m comming back to this absolute banger of a song. I then proceed to devour this song for the next few days. It is such a joy and it give me an emotional high everytime I listen to it. It is pure nostalgia combined with the power and energy.
Aside from the fact that Charmed is and will ever be my favorite series, I like this song by itself. This part of the lyrics is literally how I felt this year: "There's a club if you'd like to go You could meet someone who really loves you So you go and you stand on your own And you leave on your own And you go home and you cry And you want to die When you say it's gonna happen now When exactly do you mean? See I've already waited too long And all my hope is gone"
not often would I sign off on a cover of an original classic but this is one. the snare and perhaps the acoustic sound of the guitar really add not too mention Richard Butler is more than capable of holding up to Morrisey here
I vaguely remember this cover version from my youth. Listening to it now, the intro sounds like something Thomas Dolby would have done in the late 80s.
am i the only one depressed cos netflix doesn’t have the rights to this song and replaced the charmed opening credits with some douchey music? ugh nostalgia sucks (and yes, i adore the smiths version too, but this version was my childhood)
This wasn't Netflix's fault. They stopped using the music to "How Soon Is Now" during the show. Unfortunately there were copyright issues and instead of them pressing the issue they developed a new theme based on it which is why it sounds similar.
Spelling Entertainment refused to pay for copyright so the original songs to shows under Aaron Spelling are gone now. In reruns of Beverly Hills 90210 you will notice the absence of REM's Losing My Religion when Dylan and Brenda break up the first time when she thinks she's pregnant.
I was charmed - in 1996 - when I heard this - and remembered, and I stood on my own, and nobody gave a shit, and I left, and still nobody cared, and Morrissey's crinkled vegan carcass was shrivelled next to me, and I'd already waited too long, and, I recalled hearing the Smiths on "college" radio (6UVS in Perth WA) playing The Smith's "How Soon Is Now"..
The original is good, but I find Morrissey's vocals to be a bit dry during some parts. Maybe you'll like this version too: ua-cam.com/video/mY8eKQFyRJk/v-deo.html
They're both good versions, but imo, The Smith's hit the feels better. This is like a band that was like "Hey, this is a cool song. Let's make a heavier version. The same, just heavier." Well, yep...
Macarena es una prostituta? La cantaba cuando era niña sin entender nada (mi lengua materna es francés). Ahora que soy adulta veo una gran ambigüedad en dicha canción...🤔 Jaja

I'm here because the Psych Furs are dropping an new album. Heading to the record store at the end of the week. Anyway, the Smith's original is still better.
So a mediocre karaoke version. I love PF's, but this version is rushed and with no feeling. I know I'm in the minority, but I'm also probably one of the only Morrissey fans commenting too.

The essential 90s song!
An excellent version of The Smiths original essential 80s song.
lynne henegan--Amen...the singer of Love Spit Love sounds sooo much like Morrisey from The Smith’s!!!
@@lorib.4735 He's the singer for the 80's band Psychedelic Furs.
80's song, remade. Thank you, very much!

Only Richard Butler could do this song the proper justice it deserves.
I thought tatu did pretty good with it

The anthem of '90s young witches
For pure and original charmed and for Shannen
The Smith's Original will never be topped (80s baby rant) but this version is so reminiscent of my early teen years. Both versions are awesome btw!
Morrissey is a fucking tool. Look up Richard Butler’s bio. Moz can’t shine Rich’s shoes.
What happened to this kind of music?
It was covered from The Smith (1985). 80's music is on UA-cam.
2010 electro happened
Auto tuned r&b and 2000s era rap crap happened.. post punk era stuff like this is great! This is one of my favorite 80s songs.
I love Richard Butler and his smoldering, sexy voice.

BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL, and, yes, I have been SLAMMED for saying that ;-)
You’re not lying tho
nah you're on point. lets just say both are 10's in the 80's and 90's genres. A cover getting a perfect 10 is not easy

The Butler brothers at their finest. I’m sure you also love the Psychedelic Furs…

The way the song sounds, especially the beginning, somewhat reminds me of the song "Hippiechick" by SoHo
I have so many movies playing in my head
This was featured in the trailers of both *The Craft* and *Cruel Intentions*
I miss this song in the intro of Charmed... It sucks the rights were too expensive to keep it in...
Buy the box set on DVD. The intro song stays consistent throughout the series.
This song was totally butchered for the opening credits of Charmed anyway.
