Lenny Mclean said Skyes trainer was shouting instructions non-stop and being annoying, Sykes turned to tell his trainer to "Shut the fuck up" and thought the ref had disqualified him for swearing.

@@warcrypublishing totally agree with Craig. I hope this channel really takes off because it deserves way more subs than just over 3k. Im getting all my mates to subscribe because theres something so fascinating about these type of men. Plus i like to support Jamie as he's from just down the road from where im from.
Without a doubt one of the hardest men in the UK. Love him or hate him he was a product of his environment and so was his kids...sad really because he had massive potential.
Agreed
The Apple never falls far from.the tree... apparently Paul's 2 sons are in and out of prison. .
Was he just a product of his environment though? Don't get me wrong, he clearly suffered abuse as a kid, but so do many people and they don't all become violent towards others. For some it just makes them shy away from people completely. I feel like it's a mixture of the personality your born with combined with the abuse.
@@jimjones8808 I was beaten n I mean belt kicked punched for nowt, gerrin out of bed after bedtime for a piss would mean belt had psychological abuse ect. Not violent bone in my body but I ended up reclusive with depression. Treat people rite. It's a lot to do genetics I think.

Thanks for watching!
Another excellent talk. Thank you.

Love your content mate! Equally fascinated by the man himself. Good watch this.
Thank you Oliver
I can see why you're so interested in Paul sykes absolutely fascinating character. I see massive emotionally unstable personality disorder, it stems from childhood and leads to many more problems along the road . This coupled with Sykes physical size made him scary. He could well have been a gentleman deep down inside but life alcohol and drugs" on top of his personality disorders brought him to a sad end. Look forward to the film 😊
Same as Tyson really
Are you inti the BHOYS?having a laugh with US all to much doom N gloom, love your stuff, the stuff with Attwood also very GOOD.Can't wait for the movie 🎬. Covid yer a 💩.🙉🙈🙊💯💥
The real tragedy about Paul Sykes story is the harm he did other people. Even both his children are in jail for life, and I watch that video of Paul Sykes bullying the hell out of them whilst drunk
Good video enjoyed it thoroughly you speak well keep em coming 👍

Being on the end of Sykes violence must have been a life-changing experience physically and emotionally.
I watched the documentary "Paul Sykes at large" back in the 80s (still got it recorded on VHS gathering dust) and was fascinated by him, can't wait for the film, hope they do Tyson fury film too before I pop off this mortal coil.

@Frank Cartwright hi, is it possible you could upload it on UA-cam, would like to see that.
My mate from castleford told me about Sykes’s chasing a boxers physio around chasing rooms and gettin knocked out by the boxer, is that true story then? What year was this?
My friends dad was the landlord at a pub in Wakefield called Moody's. He said he came in the pub and would spit in your pint and I doubt anyone questioned it. Nice free afternoon on the drink.
Heard that many times.

Always thought what Paul could have been if he wasn't a nutter and a alcoholic. He had the build of athlete and had talent to go with it.RIP Paul
100% he was made for fighting, just lacked dedication / self control
He was unnaturally strong even with an abused body, and also possessed a quick mind. It makes you wonder what a dedicated 25yo could have been with a good diet and conditioning.

This is a legendary story within my family. My uncle George Hoult was from Lupset, and a hard man, and thought of a legend himself in the late 60's onwarfs
He lost to Sykes as a kid in school. He was the total opposite to Sykes, not a thug. George went into the army, and won the army Heavyweight title. On home leave, he saw Sykes on a bus, and told him they had unfinished business and told him to get off the bus. Sykes refused, and said " dont want any trouble George"
Nice story
Uncle George was one very lucky man

I have a friend from wakefield who owned a bookshop he said Paul would call into his shop and talk about his books apparently he had loads of different writings going on.
Allegedly he did. Though none of them have actually surfaced, so it’s a tricky one.
Hope all is well Dion (Rob Brenton)
My mate Nigel also said he was friends with Paula solicitor who said that she was working with him on some of the stuff.
All you clowns commenting on here never even knew the fella, you all go off of the Sykes at Large T.V. program and talk like you know Paul. That program was staged for the cameras, Sykesy was nothing like that in real life. Yes he could be a handful, but at 16st and 6ft4 that is no surprise, but if he liked you you couldn't of had a more loyal friend. Laugh, Jesus I never stopped laughing all through my sentence with Paul in Strangeways. Also remember Manners was 26 years Paul's junior, and was also a pro boxer. Sykes was a shell of his former self, a totally spent force by the time Manners sucker punched him. Remember this, all those of you that never knew Paul, and I don't mean knew of him, but actually spent time with him, only bad mouth him because of what you heard and truth doesn't get in your way. All those who did know Paul and bad mouth him only do so because you were scared of him. Like this guy spouting out tales in this film clip, tales hes got secondhand from people who Paul most likely give a clip round the ear to. Screws and prison governors don't have a good word for anyone only their own kind, definitely not ex inmates. But most of all Paul is not here to defend himself, remember that. Talk is cheap, and opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one and they usually stink. You people live in your safe little worlds with your boring little bubble, what the fuck do you know about the real world? And who does "suffer fools gladly?" People like this guy talking, is fascinated because Paul was a man, and lets be honest, today men don't have a clue how to be men, walking around with hoovers and washing the dishes etc etc. I know who I'd want by my side going in to battle.
Wish I could copy and paste this on some Sykes related videos. Men of today have absolutely no idea how men were back in the day. People often forget people of sykesy age had parents who had been through wars and had very tough upbringing.
@@MrWoods0_0 Yes I agree. real men are definitely in short supply in this day and age.
Thanks

Don't forget the time when that shark approached Paul in the sea and Paul belted the shark round the earhole and it swam off!
True story
Straights of Johor
I think 80 percent of what he said was made up , he was a total fantasist that and the raping young men in prison ruins him as a character for me.
Personally, I had no idea sharks at earholes.
@@theprophet9429 Nor me. I don't know why this story has such prominence. Most sharks are harmless to humans. But if Sykes had encountered a Great White or Tiger Shark he would have been killed unless help was at hand.
A mans only as good as the father before him.
True
if there is a film done on sykesy it would be good if they done it right i hope that lecture he gave his kids is in it. there alot you can do with a character like him, sad how in the end the drink done him and i bet those that beat him up, beat up a frail old man, and were givin the billy big bollocks, after it
Yes, the film would have started in 2020, but has been pushed back due to COVID
Could you argue that it was karma though? He spent his whole life bullying people and throwing his weight around, and in the end, he ended up being ridiculed and abused by kids. Some would say its karma. Definitely not pleasant but yeah.

You know the young lads that abused him towards the end have something special coming
Great friend, mad as a hatter in drink but a very well read guy. he was not a bully he fought the liberty takers and the wanabee gangsters. It was very sad when he was knocked about towards the end of his life in Wakefield, knocked about by young scrotes who then claimed to have "done" Paul Sykes. I met him in Blackpool cells when he was 23 yrs old, I was in for a poxy drink drive but Paul was in for far worse, we actually shared some custard creams , how daft is that !!! But we kept in touch everytime he came up to Blackpool, his name will live a long time but not for all the good reasons ,unfortunately.
Are you forgetting that he was a serial rapist, I was so pleased when I heard that he died the way that he did, I really do find it hard to understand people like you, how can you defend sex offender’s
His two sons are in prison for murder! Don't try telling us he wasn't an absolute bastard, most of us have seen his documentary and how he treated his kids, a vicious bully!
So if you weren't a fighter he'd of been alright with ya?
Poxy drink driving? Wanker.
Why's there a big secret with the actor who's going to play Sykes?
Because how the film company want it.
@@warcrypublishing Then it must be negative? From a marketing POV they MUST believe that no news is better than the truth?
Very interesting Jamie , great work mate .. Makes you think Paul Sykes couldn't of been 100% cruel and heartless , because after beating the American Dave Wilson in Paul's 2nd pro fight , and putting him in a coma , Paul Sykes became visibly upset when being interviewed about Dave Wilson's conditions and being all alone in a British hospital so far from home , shown in the documentary Paul Sykes at large .
He also looked after him till it was time to fly home , but don’t be fooled he was a nasty piece of work, Ha Ha!
@@warcrypublishing that was good of Paul Sykes as not many pro boxers would do that .... O without a doubt Sykes was a nasty peace of work haha again great work Jamie 👍
Sykes couldn't give a fuck....all an act,
Some have said that. Even a close friend said it
@@mg6844 Even less would keep throwing way after the bell. Let's get it right, ffs.
When you see bits when he’s in prison on the bed reading , he’s the living double of robert De Niro spitting image, take a look , I watched when it first came out then on UA-cam
Hmmm...
What's brave about him , really
Exactly, he was just bullying people he knew he had the size and strength to beat. If George Foreman was sat at a bar Sykes wouldn't have spat in his beer, because he knew one punch from Big George would have sent him to the promised land. Anyone can bully someone smaller and weaker, but they don't because it's the act of a coward.
@@vordman are you talking from experience ??
@@vordman foreman was on steroids you groidworshipper
Larry Holmes met Paul Sykes?? Wow, Larry was my fave boxer, this bloke gets more and more fascinating. Did you ever get an interview with Cathy his ex wife by the way? that would be interesting to listen to. All these acts of violence that Paul committed, it sounds like the people had it coming, that elderly guy telling the kids to get away from Paul and then goes all to call him an idiot, I mean the old guy should have just kept his gob shut, same as those kids for having a go at him for the cowboy hat. My dad always said, keep you nose out of things that dont concern you because you never know the whole story. He was right.
I wonder if Sykes suffered brain damage from all those punches to the head when he was child. His prefrontal cortex might have been damaged and that could explain his lack of impulse control. He simply couldn’t control his violent impulses. That’s a serious neurological problem.
Great points

Sykes could have been one of those journeyman boxers if he hadn't had a criminal mind. The ones given to the likes of Frank Bruno to knock out in a couple of rounds so as to improve their win/loss ratio. Not much dignity involved, but it would have put food on the table and he'd probably still be alive today.
Even the sharks were scared of him ffs.
