並走 ＜Side by side＞

When we ride a train and look out the window, we may see a train running on parallel tracks. So I have collected some scenes that we can see between Tokyo and Yokohama.
Please be aware that the information announcements you hear are from the train I am riding, not from the train that is currently running.

私たちが列車に乗って窓の外を見ていると、並行している線路を列車が走っているのを見ることがあります。そこで私は、私たちが東京と横浜の間で見ることができるシーンをいくつか集めてみました。

E259 has a nice coloring. This is a successor to the previous class 253's style, and is said to be inspired by the sun and sky.

Love it. People who haven't been to Japan don't realize how marvelous the train lines are. Any time I am there I look forward to some travels on the trains. I don't even care if it's a busy time of day and there is no place to sit. The adventure is fun because it is safe, efficient and well managed.

It's true that Japanese trains are very punctual, and station staff are used to speaking English these days, so it may be a country suitable for train travel. When you go to a rural area, it becomes difficult to communicate in English, but this is common all over the world. There are translation apps available, and prices are relatively low. After all, the yen is weak. 😢
