That’s a 2 man job. He’s trying to weld to that tiny ring without damaging the heads, he gets in position and he tries to flip his hood down he won’t be in position anymore. You don’t want to be finding the ring with your arc lol.
@@damienveals7641 cant very well drag a 6011 across the head looking for the ring nope haha I can manage to bubble gum a woods cart together, but I'd definitely have the ring welded firmly to the head haha And yeah, I've been the guy flipping the shield and passing rods a few times lol
Ring-type groove with pressure ring gasket in the head gasket surface to mate with a high pressure gasket to withstand the higher pressure of a turbo compressor. They fail a lot due to people boosting pressure beyond the pressure range of the ring.Better to put the ring groove and ring in the piston sleeve Ring Flange , but that's way more expensive than this.

The ring is for sealing the compression from the piston, it's a race car thing, and they are welding that wire so they can pull the ring out so they can Deck the heads, make them flat again.
Ho guardato 4 volte per capire. Non sta saldando la testa, non sta saldando un foro di fissaggio, non sta saldando sedi valvole. Questa è una testa di un motore 4 cilindri in linea. Si vedono in ogniuno dei 4 cilindri i 2 grandi fori delle valvole e un foro piccolo per la accensione. Il saldatore collega un segmento di tigrod agli anelli metallici presenti su ogni cilindro al fine di estrarli. Non ho mai visto questo tipo di guarnizioni prima. Per la estrazione usa una pinza a scatto su cui è saldata una massa battente.
Some heads have problems of blowing head gaskets well at some point someone had a neat idea to prevent the gasket from slipping. Cut a groove in the head and put a wire in it so right around the cylinder that wire grips the head gasket super tight. He's removing that wire
I made my very first 20 sets of solid hemi heads by hand Junior year of high school over the summer we're talking 1976 beat the hell out of welding the chambers back in the Brodick's heads. Just imagine the fun boys and girls lets go drag racing l blown alcohol and top fuel racing at its best Have a nice day.
There is what is called O-Ringing. Apparently when you rebuild a head that has been o-ringed it is very difficult to get the O-rings out of the head and that is what this guy is doing. Welding a piece of metal to the o-ring so he has something to clamp onto it to pull it out/off.
Removing a cylinder to head seal. Made of steel to ensure compression. Kind of like a head gasket only these are made for real power, nitro, high pressure.
