Coming from a 40-year Rush fan, this was a solid performance. Y'all hung in there after the shaky beginning and did a commendable job. But my biggest kudos go to the singer. It is tough to cover Geddy. You did an excellent job. May your singing career go far. And big ups to the "crowd noise" gang. That put a smile on my face. Glad I clicked on this.
Agreed. One of the biggest challenges I have noticed with young bands is keeping time at the beginning of the song and about a quarter to half-way through they synchronize with the drummer and sound solid from that point forward.
I just discovered this School of Rock channel and I subscribed. These young musicians are a breath of fresh air. I'm so happy all the music I listened to at there age is still alive and well. Keep rocking guys you sound excellent! Long Live Rock!

Speaking from experience, this is a hard song to screw up. My college band performed an unrehearsed version of this song at the end of our second gig. Whereas before we were getting muted "yays" at the end of our songs, when the audience heard us play this song, they freakin lost their minds. In a blink, we became a RUSH tribute band. This caused a lot of friction in the band as several in the band wanted to do other things, but our large and very dedicated following wanted RUSH and nothing else.

So many memories I wish could have been captured on video, like that night with the unrehearsed song. The genius of beeker, our lead guitarist. Kristen, our keyboardist, who did amazing solos. And finally, Heidi, our bass guitarist, who was smokin hot, and I think, the reason for most of our following ( it wasn't just guys that looked at her and drooled).

We all do that, me as well. Could you be falling prey to that trap? Sparked by the envy felt at seeing such young people actually doing what you remember doing better? With such pride and appreciation?
@@whipsmartchris A group of 400 followed us from gig to gig. Twice, we performed in front of 600 and also twice in front 1,000 people. We made anywhere from 3k to 6k a night, depending on the venue.
@@whipsmartchris I should add that all of the venues served food and drink. The type of food and drink, determined what we were paid. For instance, a place that served snacks and drinks paid us 3k. Places that served full dinners paid more.
