    I was a bit cheeky and watched it last week to prepare this week's module of your Hoop Love Coach course.
    It is absolutely great and helped me a lot to get my first hoops ready for a couple of friends.
    I have to admit though that I love building the basic, "naked" hoop much more than the taping.
    But to finally have a shiny hoop compensates for the sticky, crumbling torture of taping. Thanks a lot!
    Great tips!!!

    Well, I decided to finally tape my first home made hoop yesterday. Chose a bright pink duck tape. Used the full width and it kept creeping together so my gapes got smaller, closer together no matter how many times I backed up and re-taped. But, it’s pink and a fine hot mess. It’ll do for now and makes me smile. Thanks for the video.

    Thank you so much for this tutorial, with all these tips and tricks ! I wish I had seen it before I started taping my hoops... It would have saved me so much time and I would'nt have wasted so much tape ! As usual, I love the way you explain things and break down all the steps, you're a great teacher ! Thanks again ;)

    Ooh I love your Chanel! Just discovered you tonight!! I also wanted to let people know that I found a hoop on wish.com which I normally think is a pretty crappy site and doesn’t have any quality items but it’s a LED hoop and it has a crappy tape job but it’s a cool who and it’s decent for only like $18! Like everything from that site it took a while to get to me but I just wanted to let you know that it’s not a piece of crap and if anyone is new and wants to try it’s a good place to get one

    I never taped a hoop but I KNOW HOWTO GET PERFECT SPACING!! Just measure the space you need and mark the hoop with dots first... it will be covered anyway, but that will space it evenly for the first color and then you’re set up for any other tapes you add!

    Hi Deanne! thank you for your video, How did you cut the duck tape in half? I have trouble getting it straight

    • @alleyhoops4703
      @alleyhoops4703 5 років тому

      I have the same question. I have cut the roll in half with a saws all but it causes a horrible ripped edge that has to be covered with another tape to clean up. Maybe an razor knife? Would love the see the answer.

    Hi there, I have a push button collapsable hoop which has two buttons on the hoop that I will pull apart. How do I go about taping it? Do I tape as you do in your video and then somehow cut the tape where the push button is?

    This video was extremely helpful and I love the color combos you chose. Now I just know I'm going to be super obsessed with wanting every tape color in existence haha! Question for you if you brought all of the ones you had at the end to a fair how much would you say you'd sell each one for? Thanks for making this video

    Last but not least. On that last hoop, it looked rather difficult to tape in the opposite direction. Are you able to just flip the hoop around facing the hoop the opposite direction and get the same results? I don't have a hoop with me right now but in my head it seemed like it would work if you turned what was the right side of the hoop to the left side to get the tape going in the opposite direction. Or the part of the hoop that's facing you, make it face away from you instead and then start taping. I say this because it just looked like it was easier to tape in one direction than the other. So I thought flipping the hoop around would also make it go in the opposite direction of the rest of the tapes. I could be wrong, but I'm hoping. Only because that last step looked a bit harder. Beautiful hoops

    • @DeanneLove
      @DeanneLove  7 років тому

      Oh yes give it a try, it might work. I always tend to tape it the way I showed but there are many variations. Let me know how it goes for you!

  • @sleepwalkerZZZ
    @sleepwalkerZZZ 7 років тому +1

    A couple of questions if I may. The pastel pink and the black and white one. Appears to have no gaffa tape. Does this make hooping next to impossible? I've only hooped with a cloth tape included in my hoops so I wasn't sure if that would work for me.

    • @DeanneLove

    I think you said that you have a video on making hoops to tape. Yes! I'm hoping. Also hoping you created a link for that too here. If not are you able to. Please. In other words could you create a link to your hoop making video. If you have one. If not, would you? Could you? Please.

    After i moved out, my parents left my led hoop outside and the battery burst inside, plus its covered in mud. Its not warped so im planning on wrapping it and using it as a day hoop since it was rather expensive 😅

    How do you get such smooth even gap? I watched the video, but did not understand( The secret is that you have taped thousands of hoops?)

    • @DeanneLove
      @DeanneLove  7 років тому +2

      First of all the set up, the angle that you start with you continue you with. Then by smoothing the tape and making sure there are so bubbles on creases using your finger and thumb as I showed. Also by watching each spiral and pulling the tape into that continuous angle. As I also mentioned some hoop makers mark out the the tape position all the way around the hoop but I find that too time consuming, you can keep the same spacing and angle with the tension you pull on the roll, watching it with your eyes and smoothing the tape with your hands. Def don't need to make thousands but maybe your first one or two won't look as neat. Have fun!

    My second question, I saw that you owned a beautiful black and white patterned hoop. It's one I saw in another video of yours. There was only one black and white pattern. No solid stripes or other colors or designs. If you didn't make it and you still have it, I was curious if you could look and tell me if that hoop was taped. And if so, how? Do you always use at least two rows? Or if it is only one design or color that you choose to use can you just overlap the tape going around the hoop only once? Or even if it's only one color or design of tape would you still need to apply in the candy cane fashion as done in the first hoop you created?

    • @DeanneLove
      @DeanneLove  7 років тому

      Oh yes it is an electrical tape two stripe hoop using black and white :)
