Can you use book adhesive on taping hoops

If you put a strip of 1cm wide filament tape around the rim of the hoop your taping will last for ages. I wonder also about the scotch tape...that can crack and flake. Have you considered using transparent electrical tape?

I took the tape from Pastorelli but you can take every self-adhesive tape
