i’m 17 and i’ve never seen myself working a normal 9-5 job i’ve dreaded the thought but i’ve always loved makeup and hair and the idea of being able to make my own schedule and do something that i love is amazing i plan on going to cosmetology school once i graduate !! :)
Me too!!
In your exact shoes. Just turned 17 a week ago and graduating in two weeks. Going to cosmo school after I do
Did you end up doing it ?
As a beauty student this ridiculous workaholism in the beauty industry is insane. Don’t sacrifice your health for someone’s god damn hair
Lee Molloy it’s really so much more than that
Kaila Golmicz what do you mean?
It’s not just about someone’s “god damn hair”. Sometimes we neglect our health for our careers, or our passion, or because it’s our livelihood. When we neglect those things, it makes catching up much harder. especially self employed stylists. 100% of your life relies on you showing up everyday no matter what.
Kaila Golmicz yea I get that going to work is important but I mean people like my teachers who tell me if I take lunches during my work day I’ll never be successful or that I have to work 13 hour days or work 6-7 days a week. I’m just not okay with neglecting my health and mental health to do someone’s god damn hair
Lee Molloy I feel the same. I’m gonna do my best on each client I have but I’m not gonna sacrifice my mental health for money
I’ve been going back an forth the past few weeks trying to decided if leaving my 9-5, and going to cosmetology school was the best decision. I was literally watching Netflix when I got an alert about this video! Lol It couldn’t have come at a more perfect time 😊
Yes yes yes ! “You are going to look like a hot mess” we make THeM look good lol.
Everything u say is on point! - fellow hairstylist ❤️
Dealing with the public is THE hardest part of any job. I AM naturally outgoing BUT I am also an introvert. I am an old lady. I left Veterinary Science with 17 credits remaining ( mom died) I was a firefighter for several years and ended up working with my ex husband for many years. I was a waitress and honestly most days were 200-400 a DAY. It was a 5 am to 10 pm;) and back in the day( college, Florida. I made big bucks in college. I could NEVER work with the public now. I have no patience for assholes anymore. I truly see people as much more inclined to be assholes than in the 70s and 80s and 90s. I see how shitty folks who work with public are treated now. Lousy. Sad. I own a ranch and breed poultry and goats now. If I can’t put them in a cage, or wrangle them, 😂, I am not dealing with them. Wish all you youngsters the best, still like people , but sure as hell do NOT want to work with them.😂❤️❌⭕️
Teresa Tanasi I’m 31 and feel this way now!!! You are my spirit animal!!😍
This made me crack up lol but can definitely understand
I feel you. I was waitress and a nurse. The way customers, patients, families and managers treat you has a tremendous impact. Yes it help to stay positive and kind always taking the high road. However we’re only human and it does drain you and bring you down eventually. It’s difficult to always psyche yourself up or say affirmations. I wish people understood how important it is to treat others as you would want to be treated.
I feel the same way! It seems that the newest generation is the most entitled of all! Obviously there are good people out there but few and far between these days.....
@@sarahsmith8879 it not just the newest generation, it’s all across the board. I work with the public and grown ups who should know better definitely also behave badly.
what youre talking about in the beginning is also called emotional labor! very common in workplaces like yours where you mainly service women :)
I really appreciate how honest you are with your income, I feel like people online don't like to talk about money when usually that is what people want to know. I started my own business a couple of years ago and wasn't making enough to live on and a lot of people around me would tell me to get a 'real' job. Now that I can support myself with that same business it shows them that as long as you work hard it will pay off.
I love how healthy and glowing your makeup looks
Thank you!
Once you started talking about how gross clients can be, i knew it would definitely not be for me. I don't have the stomach for it lol!
Honestly!!! BE A 👩🏻🏫 PROFESSOR! You’re good at explaining and you speak the words.
I definitely agree with you on how physically demanding being a stylist is ! I’ve been doing hair for 6 years now & omg it has RUINED my wrists, I get the worse back pain, shoulder pain, I wear glasses now ... it’s intense. I had to stop working my whole pregnancy because the salon I was at fired me for being pregnant & I didn’t bother to work at another salon because it’s so strenuous of a job..not to mention the clients are so damn stressful (some not all) .... a lot of times (at least me anyways ) while I was preg I wanted to just stay quiet and do my job but you have to be so outgoing it literally takes all of your energy... ugh now I finally have my princess :) but I’m def starting to second guess if I want to continue my career or change it ... since where I was previously working was a big name salon and didn’t have flexibility with my schedule, I also wasn’t making a lot of money. No benefits.. honestly, aside from absolutely loving what I do if I find something else that I can make more money and it be less harsh on my wrists & not have to deal with crazy people I would probably do it ... although I feel how you do as far as I won’t have the fulfillment that I get from doing hair .
I have been a hairstylist for 30 years. This is an accurate representation of the industry. On the plus side, after many years and you have had the same clients for a while, those hard clients are few and far between.
Amen sister lol. You have to REALLY be personable and happy. Bc clients don't wanna hear you complain. People don't understand the color formulas, the angles when cutting hair... They think it's an EASY job. Hell no its not!!!! And you're right. By the end of the day I was busted. Lol bleach burning my hands. Sweating trying to get color off. You know the struggle girl 😁. So Glad you are telling the truth! Lol. Wish I knew this years ago. I only do hair on the side now. But
Yes you're right, it's an amazing feeling to make someone feel confident.
I LIKE YOUR HONESTIY. MY SON IS A BARBER. IS WORKING HARD FOR HES GOALS.
Every thing you said is spot on. As a veteran of 42yrs of hairdressing, one thing I might add is: what you have to show for a long and hard career are varicose veins and a little money you have hopefully set aside for yourself. There is no paid retirement.
Oh my gosh I'm so happy found this video! You gave me so much real information. Thank you I just subscribed too!
Giiiiiirl I can relate 10000%!!! Thank you for sharing!!
i really wanna be a hairdresser cuz my aunt is one and it seems like something i’d like to do and i’m just scared that i won’t be able to have enough money to afford an apartment where i’m planning on moving so like is the money usually good? also ik that it’s not easy but i’m determined to do it
Awesome video I am starting school next week this video helped.
Thank u for being so clear!! Thank u so muchhh
In my opinion a Hairdresser and Hairstylist is different!!
I think. Maybe
Can you, as a hairdresser, tell me how do I politely tell my hairdresser that I don't want to engage in small talk. I just want to sit in the chair and have her do my hair the same way she has for the last four years. Don't want to be rude but would like to enjoy myself instead of pretending interest in a conversation I don't want.
Hahaha I totally get that! I don't know, I'm really bad at confrontation and I never force conversation with my clients, so I've never had that interaction with anyone - but you could just try being like "hey omg I've had such a rough week and I'm so looking forward to just relaxing and enjoying some silence" as soon as you sit down so she'll know that you don't want to talk before she starts so you don't have to cut her off mid conversation. Or you can pop in some headphones... even if you don't listen to anything, but just having them in your ears can kind of let her know that you're not interested in talking. Hope that helps!
Just sit in her chair and close your eyes. Like you are sleeping 😴
I’m seriously considering going to cosmetology school but how do I know that I’m passionate about it? I haven’t really worked with hair so how do I know before I go to school?
I'd say some indicstors would be
You like spending time around people
You like salon vibes
You like working with your hands
You're somehow artsy
U can listen to people
This doesn't guarentee passion but it's indicators in the right direction
I always wondered about going all the way in beauty school and getting my teacher's license so IF I acn't get a job in a salon;maybe I can start a school where there might not be one??
As a stylist I can relate 100% with this video..lol
Do you get anything problems with your employees regarding their character?
Well said
I like it I want to to. Be cosmetology
You are so beautiful darling 💕
Y’all I’ve never wanted to be a hairstylist a day in my life but sam sold me so well into it that I even thought for a second about dropping out of university to go to cosmetology school lol
Hahahaahha I love this!
Omg yesss!!! I'm literally like in the same boat right now but I'm not in a university, but debating on switching majors now 😑😂❤
@@stresslesswithbri yo update I actually became a hairstylist 😂
@@rachelrose3573 WHATTT!?? 😂 no way... I was not expecting that reply lol. Thats so awesome. Congrats! How do you like it?
@@stresslesswithbri well I enjoy it quite a bit, it's very fun and it's a way that I can work with my hands and use my creativity. The downside tho, and the reason why it won't end up being my career for life is it involves way too many repetitive movements... I have fuckin 80yo lady joints at 20 years old, sooo making this a forever thing would pretty much mean screwing up my wrist and shoulder joints 🤦🏼♀️ so yeahhh that's my 2 cents on the whole experience, overall it's been pretty positive 😁
Considering you have no health insurance or benefits, in reality, your making minimum wage sista'!!!
Uhhhh not in my state!!! Lol
This comment makes no sense 🤔 😂
Please consider not every decision in life is based on money. Job satisfaction matters too...
I'm sorry, but your haircut looks bad
Wow, that's odd... I don't recall asking you. Hmmm...
How rude I think her hair looks beautiful
Working for the public is the worst!! I always feel like I hate people and I want to punch everybody in the face lol but then I get those really pleasant costumers that make my day!
💯 couldn't agree more..as a stylist of 10 + years it's the ugly truth none talks about.. we intermittent fast without even trying.. there is so many days where I don't sit down until I get in my car at the end of the night 😂
I’m very extroverted and ever since I got in the industry I haven’t been hanging out with my friends as much on my days off and they are not quite understanding why I need more alone time now 😂😭
I totally get that! That's why it's nice having friends that are in the same industry lol
Thank you so much for this!! I’m 19 and really needed this rn 😭 currently deciding what path is best for me
I don’t want to be a hairstylist but honestly your content is good for everyone. Thank you so much!!
That means so much to me! Thank you!!
Salon suite owner who works 12 hour days without a break 🙋🏼♀️ girl i completely feel you on being ‘on’ all day
Wow. My grandma owns a salon but wont tell me any secrets I'd like to know about thia
I ❤️your videos!!!! I have been a licensed stylist for 26 years and I grew 100% with absolutely everything you said!!!!!! I started a UA-cam channel years ago and have about 100 videos but didn’t keep up with it!!! I was younger and had more energy.... when I started year ago I worked for Regis hairstylist for 11 years in a mall and built my clientele up with all the walk-ins......now I booth rent and work 4 days a week ..... I always say it’s feast or famine in this industry ❤️❤️❤️
So true!
I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist for 3 months now. I tried booth rent and bc I’m moving out of state next year. I’m more focused on income instead of growing clientele. Coloring, Extensions, Cuts, Up dos is what I wanna specialize in so I don’t get bored with hair. I just have to figure out which one I wanna master in first and then take that experience with me.
I found your videos this summer and thought long and hard on going back for cosmetology school (I'm 25 and already have a bachelor's in something I dont even like or use) and you helped me make the decision to go back. Enrolled a few months ago and I start january 14!🌟
Omg yay that's so exciting!!! :)
Yes please reply, you you like what you do now?
I’m a nurse in Pittsburgh and came across your channel and honestly love beauty but I’m not looking for another career or anything but I just wanna say a lot of this shit has the same stuff in common lmao love ur channel would sooooo go to u if I wasn’t so far away!! Haha
Aw thank you!!
Cassidy Hicks my mum is also a nurse and I’m a hairdresser and we used to always say how similar both professions were in the fact your dealing with people all day and in Australia nursing can be a very bitchy profession as can hairdressing be at times and dependent on who you work with.
So true I'm a stylist and my sister is a nurse and we always talk about how similar our careers are.
Omg I’m a nurse too and I was thinking the same thing while watching this video!!
Nurse here as well and I totally agree!
Girl! When I started cos school, I thought I was going to change the world. Man, I was like "I'm going to make women beautiful and change lives!"
That quickly changed after I graduated. I jumped salons and could not find my fit. I began to hate working on women. They were so demanding and unrealistic. There were so many days I wanted to throw in the towel. Plus I wasn't making money.
That all changed... I moved to a men's salon. I love men as clientele. They are so easy going and appreciative. Plus nine out of ten times, they tip really well.
I'm so happy I found my niche. Now I am working on moving to a new state to help open a new salon with my company and become a manager. Things changed so fast, I mean 7 months ago I was so unhappy, now that I started this new company I am thriving and co workers, manager and owner believes in my talents! I look forward to work everyday now.
That's so awesome!! :)
Same here. Hate hate working on women and love working on men. They’re so much nicer
That’s awesome!!
It's the demanding and unrealistic for me 😅
As a hairstylist I will say one of my favorite things is community! Being able to bounce off ideas and problem solve with co workers, being collaborative is really fun and inspiring! Learning new techniques and taking classes is also really motivating if you’ve been in a rut or burn out 🙌
Where can I find love classes to go to ? ❤️
@@adrianratliff3964 always research the person who is hosting it and reviews (:
I wanted to become a hairstylist at the beginning of this year so I got a job as a receptionist in a hair salon to dip my feet in the water. Just from being the receptionist it changed my mind about going to hair school. Everything you said is soooo on point!!
That was a really smart decision!!!
Please share, what specifically changed your mind?
I don’t work as a hair stylist but I totally know what you mean about being emotionally drained and having to fake being in a good mood, OMG I hate interacting with people when I’m not in the mood!
Right?!
I'm not a hair stylist either but yeah, I went to college and I work for a PR/marketing firm, even working at a regular desk job, you have to fake being in a good mood, pretty much 99 percent of jobs, even if you aren't dealing directly with the general public, if it isn't the public, it's dealing with other companies, your higher-ups, etc. ! It's tough.
I love how you are very honest and informative while giving us examples! I’m not into hair but some how love watching your videos ☺️
Thank you :)
I started watching your cosmetology videos a couple weeks before I began cosmetology school and you prepared me so much! It’s a lot more difficult than I thought but I’m well adjusted now and I love it so much. I went into school knowing I would probably be scraping by the first few years out in the field but I really can’t wait to start making people feel better in their skin and to know that all this theory is worth it in the end haha!! Thank you for being real btw
That makes me so happy to hear! Good luck! :)
I believe no jobs will have you kick your feet back and relax. cosmetology required so much passion and personality. If your mind keeps staying over the negative side. Then it’s really not for you.
Tip for choosing a school: DO BACKGROUND OF THE SCHOOLS IN YOUR AREA. find a school that's inclusive if you are a person of color. i know that students sign a ethics contract at school for students. but look into the school in depth. trust me. i know from experience. im currently in school and i now absolutely hate it. its mentally draining for your motivation.
Just finished my 1500 hours waiting to go to state board:) these videos are so helpful !
Awesome!!
I start cosmetology school in 3 weeks and this video (and your whole channel) definitely reminds me
of why i want to be in this industry! i know it’s gonna be challenging but so worth it. 💞💞
Congratulations. Have fun and soak up all the information you can. Don't give up.
Me too!❤
I’m dropping out of nursing school and I’m leaning heavily towards going to cosmetology school. I’m an over thinker and I’ve been weighing every pro and con since I’ve thought about cosmetology school but your video has made me want to go even more. I’m extremely excited
When you first start out as a stylist in a big city, you usually have to go through an insane assistant program to get into a good salon.. the one I was in was miserable. Long story short I don’t do hair anymore. Great video!
Thank you so much this helped me alot where I was working before right out of beauty school they gave me the schedule so i need it to work the days that they schedule me. I wish i can go on a salon where they allow me to choose my own schedule work the days i wanna work since I have 3 kids but I havent heard of that.😥 for me it will be great a 9 to 5 job because of kids hopefully i can find a salon that will allow me pick my own hours and leave if I have no clients.
Commission base is so difficult in a smaller town😭 it stinks but with consistency, education, having the skills, doing more for your clients will 100% get you to where you wanna be
Off topic but I just got a wig that looks just like your hair ! 🥶 nice video as always ! You should do like a quick new year resolution video 😊
I REALLY needed this advice 3 years ago . I went to Beauty school and realized mid way it just wasn’t for me at the end . I completed my 1600 hours of cosmetology October 2020 . I became so uninterested , it was so difficult for me to finish. It was such a drag , I didn’t even want to go to school most days . I wanted to become a hairstylist since I can remember , but man I was not expecting everything that I went through lol . Cosmetology school is not easy AT ALL. My journey was a hella roller coaster . I’m still debating whether or not to take the stateboard.
Can you please do a video on your favorite hair tools and favorite hair tool brands. Hot tools and cutting/coloring tools.
I share everything I use in this video! ua-cam.com/video/Rm8gSLbWXqs/v-deo.html
:)
I’m currently in esthetician school and been thinking of doing hair.. I’m glad I watched your video cuz I realized I’ll just stick with Esthetics. Cosmo seems more physically and mentally demanding
I was building my best healthy lifestyle while being in the Army. I was in situations where my life was at risk working my job. Everything was under control because I was fully capable of overcoming ang obstacles. It just takes more to find ways to get smarter and stronger on your own, so I see this industry as a bada$$ job to do the major things to become a bada$$ person 😉
I am obsessed with your makeup😍
Thank you!
EVERYTHING IS SO TRUE such a tough job it’s unreal
Wow...I have been in this industry for 30 years and 15 of those years I taught cosmetology...and this is probably one on the most negative overviews I have heard about the industry... though a lot of what is being said is true with that being said Cos is an industry where u trade your time for funny, 6 figure stylist don't work as hard as you are saying in the video ..they have passive incomes...and beauty school will teach you nothing about the business...they just teach you how to stand behind a chair
I am going to a technical school so it’s free all u need to get is materials and I am 14
This video is so enlightening! Thanks for sharing your experience!!! 🎉
yes!!! another sam video.
you are so helpful for so many people:) thank you for your advice.
Sam, I've been watching your videos because I'm considering a career change. I want a job that allows me to make other people feel good, be on my feet, and learn new things every day. I have worked in restaurants and office environments and found that what is lacking is the creativity and human connection. I just want to say that I appreciate your vids. It's so hard to know what is best when it comes to a career change. But your insight is very helpful. Thank you!
Speaking as a 10yr Veteran of the Cosmo industry, everything you just said spoke to my soul. I was over here certifying you and hollering “preach” ! It’s a passion for sure! Because even when I hate it I get up and I end up loving my life and career ! When you feel so blessed you know you’re doing the right thing.
If you want to be making 6 figures you would want to be working in a celebrity salon and be offering very expensive services. I would say 1/2000 hairdressers is making a 6 figure Salary. That’s literally misleading!!
Not necessarily true. You don't have to be a celebrity stylist to make a high income. I follow a lot of people who charge high prices and are fully booked that work on "regular" clients. Especially if they're teaching classes... a lot of them are charging $500-$1000 per person or have online education that is bringing in extra income each month. Of course no one should go into this industry expecting a six figure income, (and I think I made that pretty clear) but it absolutely is attainable, especially if you're a smart business person.
This couldn't have come at a better time. I have yet to watch this whole video, but today I have really been considering getting into cosmetology. I was even watching some of your older videos about schooling/being a lash technician. This video I for sure have to watch. You always give some good advice!
Omg perfect! I hope it helps!! :)
I LOVE hair. It's so interesting to me! but I ended up just getting my bachelors degree in marketing due to the fact of being afraid of not making enough money off the bat.. I'm thinking of possibly going to cosmo school though but I constantly worry about if it's worth it, I'd have to take out a loan for it. I hear ya on having to fake a good mood at work though! ! people can really suck! I love your videos btw
I love the video and thank you i still want to do cosmetology down the road and i know how it feels to deal with the general public. Thank you for that its nice to hear how honest it is to be a cosmetologist really helpful
I worry about the school end. I am i my late thirties and came across a full set of books. I wonder how you can learn and MAINTAIN the knowledge for the exam in the end. Are there any other ones out there starting out later in their lives?
I live in Vegas I’m 2 months away from graduation for cosmo I’m so excited, anxious, nervous I just hope I can get s consistent clientele and get faster so I can make a lot of money
Aaliyah Couture make sure you go to a busy salon with a lot of walk ins.
Can you please update us on how it's going. My girlfriend starts in 3 weeks!
Thanks for sharing the pros and cons. I am thinking of a career change I have been in a desk job for 10 years and I don't want to do it any more, but I do get decent healthcare and retirement contributions by my employer. It's a tought call, do you think cos schools might be open to me seeing if I could job shadow for a a day or two just to see what it is like?
This was a very helpful video so thank you! I still want to do hair! Even though I’m an introvert who gets grossed out fairly easily- I’ve already been a waitress and a nurse, so I’m not scared! Most importantly though, I’ve never had a creative job. I’ve known my hairstylist for many years. I know it’s not as glamorous as people think, but she still enjoys because it’s the right field for her.
Hey Sam! I’ve been watching your videos for a while now but I never comment, just like lol I’ve been working at a salon for a few months now but I’m mostly as a receptionist (I do have my license though ). My boss was supposed to train me but she’s super busy and hasn’t had time to but she wants to put me on the floor full time but I don’t feel ready yet, I don’t have a lot of experience with color and cuts. I’m wondering how you gained your experience, did you assist before you were on your own? Did your boss teach you? Was it all through you taking extra classes? Any advice on this would really help! Thank you ☺️
Hi! I was able to bring in friends and family as models and practice on them. So I would watch some tutorials from Behind the Chair and then practice different techniques on my models (or mannequins). I'd ask your boss if you can do something similar just to get your feet wet and maybe just have your models pay for the cost of product. You won't ever feel 100% ready until you just go for it and learn from your mistakes, but working on someone you know definitely takes the pressure off. Good luck! :)
Sam Vay thank you for replying :) and yeah, I can definitely bring in models so I will work on finding them lol but thank you ☺️
I don’t think it’s for me my anxiety just wont allow it. I was forced into it because I go to a trade highschool and made the wrong choice. I regret it even though I aced all the tests I don’t too well on the practical stuff. I feel like I wasted four years of my life.
thank you for this video sam!!!!!
you described being an introvert PERFECTLY. that is literally me.
Great tips! thank you
I’ve always had hairstyling as a career option for myself but haven’t pursued it. I did makeup at a counter for a while and it was so fun but also very stressful at times. I’m 28 with a baby and feel like I’m too old for beauty school now😅
Hell no! You're never too old!!! I was 25 in beauty school and we had other women that were in their 40s. Some people have messaged me saying they're finally in school now in their 50s!
When I went to cosmetology school my classmates ranged in age from 17-60! Some of them were pregnant , some had a new born, you can do it!
Do you think this would be a good job for a single mother??
I'm a single mother and heres my take on it. Yes and no! Yes- because you can build your own schedule (if you do chair rent). No because it's super costly to start up especially out of cosmetology school. You have to work hard to get people to want to come to you, you have to have liability insurance just incase you hurt someone, no health benefits sometimes. You have to be able to MARKET yourself! Make people want you as their stylist. You have to give them an experience they crave. This industry is really difficult but if you have the determination to do it then yes it's so worth it! Here's the money aspect- you are not going to make 6 figures over night you have to work for it. It's all about practice. So my FINAL TAKE is no! I started this before I found out I was pregnant and then finished when I had my son. Now here i am.
It's pure hell most of the time.
BRAVOOOO
I want to do cosmetology so bad! I feel like cosmetology gets such a stigma about being "not good enough" Or "A waste of time or money" etc. I feel like that's why people question it so much. I really want to do it though. I just have to take the step and do It! Thanks for a very in depth look into what a day in the life is really like I know I can always count on you too keep it real! 🖤🖤🖤
Aw thank you! I think that stereotype exists because there are so many people who get into this career without knowing the reality of it. They think it's fun and easy or maybe they're just not sure about what they want to do at all, so they start doing hair and then they aren't passionate about it, so they end up staying stagnant and don't become "successful," and eventually quit. And then that gives the entire industry a bad image. As long as you have a realistic idea of what to expect and are willing to give it your all, you'll have an amazing career :)
@@styledbysamvay I think you hit the nail right on the head! I think that when things become more "difficult" people tend to give up and look for other options then the stereotypes set in which sucks but I guess that is what happens all over. I love that your so transparent with your viewers! I think you should teach one day if you ever wanted to. I think you'd be amazing! 💋
So glad I came across your video !!!! Thank you for being HONEST & Real, I appreciate it 🙏🏼🙏🏼💕 starting my classes soon and I can’t be more excited, thank you 🥰
love watching your channel girl! Hope to see more of your style of the week videos soon , love your style by the way!

This sounds a lot like being a nurse! Hahaha I’m an RN and a lot of what you said is so relatable 😂 I enjoy your videos, I’m 35 and thinking about going to cosmetology school because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do 😊
Hi Girl!! I would like to request a video of how to charge your services, I really struggle with it. Thanks for your videos your great 😊
i was considering this career but i realize now that i dont think this would be good for me. i had spine surgery and have chronic pain. the thought of standing/hunching over all day sounds like a nightmare. :(
I was thinking about it and I still am because of your brutal honesty. My bff is a hairdresser lost her career in the salon due to Covid but she keeps her license and still does hair for extra untaxed income. I think pointing out the fact of knowing how to network, get clients and keep them, but also having your own schedule and your own independence.
💯 couldn't agree more..as a stylist of 10 + years it's the ugly truth none talks about.. we intermittent fast without even trying.. there is so many days where I don't sit down until I get in my car at the end of the night 😂
This is the advice that I personally needed
Girl I’m a stylist too couldn’t agree/relate more!! One thing bout me is I’m gonna take my lunch😂
Bigger Cities = More expenses/Higher booth rental/less commission. Just because its a bigger city doesn't necessarily mean busy or a lot of money.
Realest stuff 💯💯💯 and very true couldn’t say it better. Also I’m glad for the reinsurance
💯
And I'm still in school. 200 hours left to go. 🙌
