I love these guitars. I mean, as an electric guitar player in a rock band who needs an acoustic for 5 or 6 songs in a set (all the extra gear, feedback issues etc. ), this is the perfect sollution. I hear people talking about the high price, but having to buy a fairly good acoustic guitar with a good pick-up system and a good acoustic amp, that's not going to cost you much less, but you still have all the issues that you don't have with an Acoustasonic.
Mario, You are absolutely right. The Jazzmaster is roughly the same value as my Larrivee OM3 (Grand Auditorium) with a K&K pure mini in it. I hoping to find my wife at a moment of weakness and convince her that I need one for the electric sounds! I think that the Jazzmaster sounds the best of the three Acoustasonic options.
It’s all about finding the right tool for the job. In the band I’ve been playing in for about 3 years. It’s all acoustic (guitars) and I do heavy strumming. I got tired of the bulky acoustic guitars pressing against my body. This is perfect and as a bonus I don’t have to plug it in at home when it’s just me as I normally do with the electric guitars. Love the thin neck and love how the volume knob is away from the strum section. I have the natural one. Why people complain about the price of this is beyond me. If it’s the perfect tool for the job, price is irrelevant. Simple.
Ok... of all the acoustisonics... this one's caught my eye! The larger body size just does it for me in an acoustic and have always wanted a Jazz Master body guitar... is this "the one" is the question! Thanks for the demo R. J... you weren't kidding when you said just wait ..you have some "things" coming!
If you hadn’t been playing what you were playing, and how you were playing it, I may not have continued listening to this demo. Nice tones on that guitar, which probably inspired this song. Nice, consistent rhythm. Nice work, sir! 👍
If you use Rouxinol R-30 strings (w/ a Wound B String) you'll get an interesting Jazz tone. These strings even include a Pick you can use to play them.
Wow, you seriously gave the best performance demo of the jazz master acoustasonic I've seen so far on UA-cam and I've watched several dozen! Was on the fence about buying till I heard you play! Amazing stuff! 🎸 👏👏
Worth every penny ! Just plain MAGIC every time I pick it up! A good expensive guitar has to give something back with this you get MAGIC for your money !
When embargoes lift on these videos, a lot of people complain that they're all the same. There are three I know will have their own character: Yours, Ola's and Paul Davids'. 11/10 did not disappoint would listen again!!!!!1one
Thanks RJ, you could make a kazoo sound great...and that guitar's not far from it. As kids we used to weave paper and stuff thru the strings to get muted/kazoo/rubberband/sitar/banjo sounds out of acoustic guitars. Fender found a way to make saving paper very expensive.
For some reason these latest fender acoustics (Tele too) remind me of the big chunk of deli meat that the person behind the counter uses to cut the slices from.
I still think that acoustic/electric hybrids like these Acoustasonics are gimmicky, but it sounds good. Looking at the website, these guitars come with Phosphor Bronze acoustic strings. RJ, have you tried the sound of electric strings on it?
Could you please tell me your set-up? Amp and pedals (e.g. Line 6 HX Effects Guitar Effects). I just bought this guitar and want your tone so bad! Thanks!
Looks beautiful but personally i don't like how it sounds. Some sounds are good some not so much and the price on that thing. You can get 2 or 3 mim fenders for that price 🙂 But your playing is outstanding as always. Fender should use it as their official demo for the guitar! Cheers RJ!
Este tío me vendió la Fender Acoustasonic Jazzmaster (no literalmente, pero este vídeo me convenció de comprarla), pero la mía no venía con manual de instrucciones para tocar así.
That's is a killer Sound and you play so beautiful in your own Blues style .I have the same guitar but I don't find the right strings .Which strings do you use on your guitar? Liebe Grüße aus Germany 😊❤
What would you call that lick between 8:30 - 8:37? As in: what scale, mode or key is that in? It sounds really cool and that lick in particular got my attention
Nothing wrong with these Fenders, but they're SO expensive. For anyone interested in similar features, seek out an American made Carvin/Kiesel Craig Chaquico model for a fraction of the cost. ✌️
I've watched tons of Acoustasonic demos. I totally hate these guitars on so many levels. That said, if I don't LOOK at the video, RJ really makes this thing sound great.
Why oh why wouldn’t Fender have put a beautiful veneer on it. Then I might consider getting one. That to me would justify the high price of these. We eat with our eyes first. There are a lot of great cars out there that nobody wants to drive because of the way they look. The way they look now for 2 grand is a hard pass. For a grand I would consider it. I’ll wait for these to be in the used market for waaaaay cheaper. This is incredible playing and RJ made me want to take a closer look at these just because the way he pulled incredible sounds out of it. RJ is the f@cking MAN!!!!!
As usual RJ's playing is mind-blowing. Everything he does is pure butter! As far as the guitar goes, it seems mediocre as an acoustic and worse as an electric. Can't imagine dropping $2G's for one.
Crap. More money out the door that I don't have..... i love all the accoustasonics but have NO WAY to afford them. Where's the Squier versions??? Fender, do it before someone else copies you. That's the reality as you know. Thanks to the hardest working musician we know. 🤪
Just sounds like quacky piezo sounds, with either eq presets or impulse responce file presets. either way it sounds just like a plugged in acoustic which is terrible as every sound engineer would tell you. get a decent solid acoustic and mic it up and i guarantee it won't sound nothing like this does.
You couldn’t do what you can do with the Acoustasonic or others like it, using a lovely mic’d up Martin or Gibson and not run into feedback issues etc. unless you ring out problem frequencies at every gig. Because every space is different. So unless you are a crack live sound engineer or have one at your gigs, it’s not a practical approach for amplified acoustic sound. That said it’s not perfect (electric sounds are all bridge sounds, with no warm neck sounds) but Fender definitely made a unique approach handling those issues.
Great playing... but, guitar sounds weird. I wouldn’t be surprised if you are the only one to include the “paid promotion” thing. That’s cool, man. Okay, byeeee
