The Bissell Hard Floor Expert is a canister vacuum with a lot of power. It comes with a large number of accessories, including hose / wand, hard floor cleaning head, multi-surface cleaning head, crevice tool, and dustin brush.
The Bissell Hard Floor Expert comes with an 18' retractable cord and a 7' hose / wand, giving it a large cleaning radius once plugged in.
Maintenance costs are a bit high. In the video we originally reported it was between $44-88 / year, however, based on the most current prices we're seeing it's actually closer to $64-$128.

I've never heard of this channel before but after watching this video and how amazingly THOROUGH they are, I have subscribed. I've never actually seen a household appliance video that was so detailed and helpful. Keep producing more content !!!! :)
Thanks so much, Sophie! Glad to hear you like our videos :)
We release a new review every Friday at 10:00 am PST. So look for those! :D
Thank you for all of the information and details. Some of us that do a lot of cleaning, have carpet and hardwoods, are concerned about how much room it will take to store the item, and have pets, really do appreciate it! Very thorough!
I would say storage on the Hard Floor expert is okay. The canister itself isn't too big and the cord does wrap reasonably well around it. However, you will probably need a place to store the extension cleaning tube and cleaning heads.
I strongly prefer the Miele C1 canister. It's more expensive, but it's easier to store (internally stored cord, smaller footprint, etc.), you can see it here - amzn.to/2DMeJuK
i wanted to find out how this was on simple carpet surface. of course, i find out here after looking elsewhere and not finding an answer. once again, this kid has the best reviews on products. and, thanks to this, i am once again buying a product after watching his review :)
thanks!
You're too kind, Carl! Thanks so much. Glad to hear we're still building what you love :)
For anyone who just purchased one of these or one similar and can't get the dust bin/canister off it because the button won't release it. Push/force the button in the direction going away from the base/wheels. The button is shaped with a curve at one end and a flat side at the other, it needs to go in the direction of the curved end. It does not push down!!
I think you may have received a faulty unit. I just went out and tested this to verify...pushing the button down and lifting up released our bin.
My opinion: Those filters are washable. The manual says so. I looked at the manual on Bissell's website, and there are no recommendation for changing them, only instruction for cleaning them. Unless you are really mistreating them when you wash them, they should last a very long time. I have had a unit with the same type of filters (top and wheel) for over 5 years and I have never had to replace them. The top one is looking a little scruffy but it is still thick and operational. I would say replacing those filters during the lifetime of the unit would be exceptional, unless you are in the cleaning business and using it several times every day. If that is the case, this vacuum cleaner is not the one you are looking for. If you are changing them just to change them, because they are dirty or because they look a little scruffy, then you are wasting your money.
With that said, I have not tried this particular unit. But I feel confident that if the takeaway of your review is that it performs well, then I highly doubt filter replacement prices really factors into the decision.
Thanks for sharing. So you think ALL the filters are washable? How often do you use the vacuum cleaner? I'm planning to buy this model partly because of your comment above.
@@iancanuck4769 I would encourage you to read the amazon reviews at the link provided by the reviewer. While I have a unit that works exactly the same way and uses the same types of filters, I do not own this particular unit. So my comment should not be a too great factor. All I can say is that I've been using mine once a week for at least 7 years and I still have the original filters. The top filter gets dirty quickly; the wheel filter, on my unit, is NEVER dirty. I've seen people on amazon saying they wash their filters. I gently let mine soak in a bucket with dishwashing or fabric detergent and move it around in there for a bit. Rinse well and let air dry thoroughly. It important to wash it when visibly dirty because it impacts performance greatly.
Can you vacuum under a sofa if you turn the handle sideways? What clearance does it need? I have a mini Chewbacca in my home that sheds everywhere! I need something to reach under sofas. Thank you for your detailed review!
Yes, you can get under many sofas and other furniture. The cleaning head is only a few inches high. You really shouldn't need to turn the handle very much. Just sort of lay the handle closer to the floor and you should have clearance.
And thank you for your kind words!
It works just fine. I like it.
Great review! Was planning to buy Eureka, then I learned about this one by Bissell, which is slightly more expensive. But other than the price, we also need to look at the quality and company reputation. Found out that "Eureka" now owned by a Chinese company, so more than likely made in China. Two questions: can we just wash the filters (some comments say so)? How long is the cord?
Thank you!
We didn't try to wash the filters and I wouldn't recommend it. They are quite inexpensive, so just not work the risk, in my view.
Cord is 18'
Can you please do a review for the Bissell Zing bagless canister?😎🤙🏼
Got you covered right here - moderncastle.com/vacuum-cleaner-reviews/bissell-zing-canister-vacuum-review/
thank you. But how about pet hair?
thats my main concern
I just bought this vacuum, I've only tried the turbine head and it works very well. It's much quieter than other vacuums I've tried, making me think I don't have the suction on max (though it is powerful,) I clicked on this video to see if there's a setting for suction control.
Any chance you can do a review on the Oreck vacuum cleaners? These videos are very well done :)
Thanks for your kind words!
I'll see if I can do more Oreck reviews in the future.
In the mean time, you can see my contextual review on the Oreck Commercial XL here - moderncastle.com/vacuum-cleaner-reviews/oreck-commercial-xl-review/
I use this a lot to do house clean. How to washes the vacuum please? Use this to clean house have pets
Is possible to attach the small crevice tool and the small brush in the hose without the wand?
You can attach it so the handle (which can detach from the full extension wand). So yes, mostly.
U should do on pet hair pick up!
Very nice, you're cool!
Thanks!
do I have to buy the tools separately?
No. All of the tools showed in this video come with the vacuum.
Can the filters be cleaned instead of replaced?
No
The "s" is silent in debris
I've failed you, Dan. I'll make sure it's right next time!
What if you have multiple debris
Dan no Dan, no. He was referring to the plural in the sense of many types of debris a vacuum would find on your floor. Thanks for playing.
Is that filter in wheel a HEPA filter?
I don't believe it is
@@ModernCastle Thank you for the reply. I noticed that most(maybe all?) Bissell vacuums don't have HEPA filters. I wonder why...?
@@tsteele1944 I would guess it's a measure to help keep their costs lower.
BISSELL PowerForce Multi-Cyclonic Canister Vacuum wheels not spinning, how to unlock them
I'm not sure, sorry
Why you didn’t show the carpet low/high test results? You’re very good explaining things, but not showing the carpet part it seems not trustworthy.
You're right, we should have showed that more clearly.
This is one of our very first videos and it clearly could have been better. Our newer stuff does a much better show of showing exactly what we're discussing.
Thank you for responding so promptly.
@@gutcris2004 You're welcome
It seems like bissell is coping Dyson canister vacuums
Basically all clear canister vacuums are copies of Dyson they also call "cyclonic force" stated first by Dyson.
Well, almost every vacuum cleaner with cyclonic filtration is copying Dyson's first-generation cyclone. It's just Dyson's first and second gen multi-cyclonic design patent has expired and allowing other manufacturers to copy and redesign them. Only much newer designs introduced in 2011 upward like Dyson Radial Root, Two Tier Cyclone, and Cinetic patents have expiration dates of around 2035.
Does the head fall off easy like their lower budget model. It's a complete pain
Honestly, I cannot remember. It was a long time ago that we tested this.
Makes no sense, a hard floor vacuum that u say doesnt do well on hard floors but yet you rate it well?
I'm confused!
Did you watch the cleaning tests portion of the video? ua-cam.com/video/pPNExTzEQHo/v-deo.html
Despite the name, we tested the vacuum on multiple floor types, and while it wasn't amazing on hardwoods...most of the issue on hardwoods was large debris. So its fail point is fairly narrow.
Given our combined cleaning test data we still think it's a good vacuum, but I do think the name is a bit of a misnomer.
Should probably put the right vacuum cleaner on your thumbnail. Very misleading.
Our mistake. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
We certainly were not trying to mislead anyone.
We've changed the thumbnail.
debreesss
I thought it was a Dyson
Nope. This canister vacuum is made by Bissell.
Here's info on Dyson if that's what you're looking for - moderncastle.com/vacuum-cleaner-reviews/dyson-vacuum-reviews/
also, whilst you where busy measuring accurate length and height to a 12th of an inch, everyone watching is still waiting to hear how much it is or if you have recommended retailer that will save us money.
I don't generally talk about specific prices because they are always changing, and I don't want information to be incorrect after publishing.
As far as retailers go, Amazon is usually going to be your best bet - amzn.to/2CR2PA0

Depreeeessss , ass
omg just do the tests, stop talking as if your writing a dissertation.

Worst vaccum ever, it don't pick up nothing but dust/hair/fur/ spider webs and nothing else!! Even a crumb won't be picked up. And forget about vacumming the carpet! Get a different vaccum for carpets. It's also difficult to pull around while you use it! It also will yank the plug out the outlet! And the turning at the head part is difficult so when im using it i have to hassle a bit with it. The hose is not as flexible either, it's this heavy hose I'm trying to work around with it. This vacuum is too expensive to be this much of a hassle.
@@ModernCastle quality content isn't appreciated these days I guess. This is easily one of the best reviews of any item that I have seen on youtube, don't listen to that asshole man.
