Dax has never been lacking belief. Yes he WAS questioning God in his song “Dear God”, but the main message/goal of this song was to express pain that we as people are going through on daily basis, that there are a lot of evil and that we need Him in more “hands on” manner. Also he pointed both at the beginning and at the end of the song that he is believer. I highly recommend doing a reaction of this song. :)

Dear God was Dax questioning things …Dear God is being studied in many college theology courses across the globe and Child Of God was more of a statement and sharing his journey to this point. Dax is all about positivity and making a difference and does not care about getting views, but leading by example. Dax does not speak about religion but spirituality…Check out Dear God and Book of Revelation from Dax and you can see his growth and we are ALL a work in progress, not just Dax! You are assuming a lot without knowing anything about Dax and his journey… he does many styles, so he’s not categorized as a rapper. God lives inside all of us because we are his children, so we should look inside ourselves to see God

When Dax says, "in order to see God, at first, we must look within." I believe that is not technically wrong since you got to look at your own self and dive into your own thoughts and beliefs in order to want to reach out to God. Then we will truly get to see him for what he is.

it think you're partially right but i also think he is of the belief that the bible is a flawed piece of human literature and that to find him you have to look inside through prayer to find a personal relationship and he also probably of the relatively comen belief that we are a part of god as he is a part of us

It's an interesting idea about an actor portraying Jesus in a show where other actors are portraying worship. It seems to me that anyone who does have a problem with this would also have a problem with, say, Jim Caviezel portraying Jesus in "Passion of the Christ" or Diogo Morgado in "Son of God" or whoever voiced God in Cecil B Demille's "The Ten Commandments"? That's fine if someone does have an issue, but these movies are pretty widely appreciated and even beloved in the broader Christian community.
It seems to me that "carving an image" is not a violation of the 2nd Commandment if there's no idolatry. For some textual references around this, we can look at the crafting that was done contemporary to the giving of the 10 Commandments such as Cherubim on the mercy seat of the ark (Exodus 25), the golden lampstand which had almond blossoms cast into it (Exodus 25), and pomegranates on the priestly robes (Exodus 28). We can also look at the crafting done later on the first temple, which included palm trees, Cherubim, pomegranates, gourds, oxen, and lions (1 Kings 7).
All that said, I am also hesitant about the extent of our imagery in Christianity today. For example, one wonders if some venerate and worship the cross rather than the One who died on it, or the Bible rather than the One who spoke it. They're fine lines and I won't cause disunity over it, but definitely feeling that same caution as you Pastor Rob.
Keep up the great work, my brothers! Praying for you

@9minutes you talked about not making an image of God; prefacing “me personally” numerous times. Understand that the New Testament has made an image to represent God in Jesus Christ. The images of the crucifix, fish, and even Jesus, himself would be contradictory in themselves. I understand the commandments, but even when asked which of the commandments is the most vital, Jesus replies to love the Lord with whole heart, mind, and soul. And the next most important is to love others as yourself (Matthew 22, Mark 12) which is later reaffirmed by Paul in Galatians 6 as we are to carry each other’s burdens, in love. What Dax is talking about in his lyricism is promoting just that. What Dax promotes is love and compassion for all, just as Jesus called all to be. And if Dax promotes this, then what good is he to Samael; does not a house divided fall (Matthew 12)? He directly credits Christ to his life and salvation, if not in lyricism, then directly by the universally accepted image of Christ (cross, lamb, etc). Even if he was not, does Paul not write to the Romans, “Who are you to criticize another’s household slave? Before his own Lord he stands or falls. And he will stand. For the Lord is able to make him stand.”
‭‭‬ ‭14:4‬ ‭HCSB. These reaction videos are great, but show that we are all still off the mark. If any of this does not resonate, take a break and pray for discernment, if it still does not sit well, then that is the discernment that God has given you.
We were all created in Gods image. Doesn’t state the “Jew or the gentile was created in Gods image”; NIV even states “Then God said, ‘let US make mankind in OUR image, in OUR likeness…” Genesis 1:26. And a variation in at least 12 of the different versions of the text including HCSB, AMP, and even KJV. Seems like there is a lot more to discuss about the division within the church than a man trying to pull more people to the lord of hosts.

If I did not look within, I would have never re-evaluated leaving my faith when I was a child after bearing witness to fraud within the church and a false pastor. By looking within, not to be like God, but to evaluate ourselves, and silence our racing thoughts, so we can listen outward for God, do we find God and have a relationship with him. I have recently over the past year, been rebuilding my faith and am also a work in progress. God has really made his presence known over the past two years to me, which in time I could no longer ignore him and listen. Since I have let God back into my life, he has given me many blessings through several deep struggles in which I had to face and fight through. Can I blurt out any bible scripture at random? Absolutely not! That is not what makes one Christian. It is the relationship between yourself and God and listening to His guidance and attempting to live your life in a righteous way, not to mention character, that will bring more people to him. I have learned people do not listen to one who just preaches, they will shun them. They listen to those and join those who lead by example (walk the walk, not just talk to talk). I must make a statement about your judgment and making fun of DAX. Does it really matter if he is related to a "mainstream" rapper? If he were, should he be shunned for it, even though his message is of faith and in opposition of the so called relative? Shouldn't you focus on the message and God? Better yet, why not ask DAX for an interview discussing the meaning behind the "looking within" part instead of letting prejudice speak out in ignorance.

Pastor Rob It would mean a lot of you respond to this. I grew up catholic and one main thing I never understood was the false idol thing. In Catholicism they pray to Mary and have statues of saints as well as pray to saints. I no longer consider myself a Catholic for that reason and many others. I do still believe in God and Jesus but I do not believe in organized religion because I think human error has misinterpreted things like this example of Catholicism. Additionally I think dear God by dax seemed to be targeting organized modern day religion rather than a disbelief in God. What are your thoughts on this topic?

Dear God was not questioning God but he was questioning modern day religion. Book of revelations is awesome by dax as well. I hope you give it a second chance.

Repent of your sins and believe in the gospel so you can be saved nothing and no one else can save you the Bible predicted everything that’s happening rn it’s not enough to say you believe you have to live a life submissive to the will of God and following Jesus daily with your own cross Love you.

Sorry Pastor but only Protestants are using Sola Scriptura. Most Christians RC and Orthodox (The True Faith) aren't using the Scriptures alone. Secondly most RC and Orthodox view Protestants, Anglicans etc... as false Christians so please don't say stuffs like if you don't believe in Scriptures alone you're not Christian. Also sorry English is not my first language
