And BTW you broke your own gun when you attempted to do something you were incapable of doing, like following instructions To answer the wire size use the largest gauge that will fit, this will help increase battery life, the smaller the wire the more resistance. it looked like he used 18 gauge. but if you can fit 16 gauge that's what I'd use. One addition I would do it buy some liquid rubber and coat the solder points. To determine the inside Diameter of the PVC just wrap a piece of string around the plastic rod and measure it to determine the circumference then divide that by 3.14 the result will be the diameter (C/3.14=D). My son bought the ECS-10 from Target today with a Christmas gift card. So Excited. He ripped it open and stuffed is some AA (1.5v) and added his "sniper" accessories. When he went to fire it, nothing happened. So we tested the batteries. All 1.62v. So I ripped the thing open and looked at the electrical wiring. Then found Drac's video and then mag212's. A couple of libations later, the the gun fires great. Thanks for the detailed video. Really an easy mod if you understand circuits.
Lol start with a stryfe or Rapid red or modules it's very easy (stryfe is easiest in my opinion) all u need to spend is like 25$ and then u can use it for multiple guns just get solder, soldering iron, wire cutters/strippers and some upgrade wire and if u want its really easy to run on a lipo and lipos are pretty cheap but taking care of them is harder and a little on the expensive side. Good luck and once u did a couple of stryfe or 1-3 semi auto guns it's pretty easy I just started a month ago and now I can mod a nemsis. :)

Your videos are awesome because you focus on every little detail and explain why you're doing what you're doing. I also like how you zoom in and show the details of how the parts are setup at each stage, Many instructionals just skip steps and all of a sudden there's a new motor or whatever and you have no idea how it got there. If I could echo one thing I saw in another comment, I hope, in future viedoes (realizing this is an older video), please make a list up front of materials we would need. We ended up getting 14 gauge solid strand for this, only because that was the smallest they had at Menard's. We spent about 2 hours trying to stuff this wire in places in wasn't supposed to be only to realize the trigger mechanism won't work with that behemoth stuff. We start rewiring tomorrow. Seriously, keep doing what you're doing. You're good at it and you're probably helping a lot of kids learn about electronics.
Wow! First of all the mod totally worked! Second, I tested the modded modules out and I got 156fps as the average for nerf elite darts(which are horrible compared to better third party darts)! That’s crazy! So thanks for the mod guide, it was a fun project to work on.

You do know those resistors on the board attached to the flywheel motors are to prevent power from back feeding into the battery potentially causing a lipo fire (if you're running lipos) when the rev trigger is released the motors continue to spin causing the flywheel motors to act as a generator feeding unnecessary and dangerous power back into you battery pack.... all your other mods are spot on though

my method of not losing track of the screws goes like this: I take out the screw from the front and put it on the floor or the table. then I take out the next screw and put it near the first screw, like it was when they were screwed in. I just take out the screws, and put them in similar shape, as they were screwed in.

This is a level 2 mod. Which means removing the resistors which gives the motor extra power and rewiring the system to make it more simplistic and also to remove stupid locks! A level 1 mod is just removing the resistors from the motor. A level 2 is level 1+rewiring. A level 3 mod is changing actual parts like the motors or the flywheel. A level 3+ or level 4 mod is a level 3 mod that requires dremeling or other forms of hacking/breaking the plastic/flywheel cage to get the non-vanilla parts to fit. Level 1 is really all you need to get started. Pretty basic mod. Slowly work your way up to level 4. It can to be too intimidating to start at level 4 or even level 2 at first.
level 2???? IDK... removing the locks on a mechanical blaster is a good idea to prevent it Jamming but I don't see it been an advantage on a flywheel blaster, all those switches do is prevent the motor from spinning up if there is no mag or the inspection door is open... IMO thats a good feature.. and as for the resistors.... im sceptical.. I could be wrong but I suspect its a simple soft start circuit that prevents the motor from sparking and/or having a massive current draw at start up.. yeah in a way its a performance increase but u have to think to why and engineer would do that, and I suspect its to make the motors last longer and the batteries last longer. IMO a mod like this is only really effective on setups above 6v and idelly lipos, ye old AA battery is not exactly a power house... if it was me.... id run 4x 3v li-ion AA's and have a 2-way switch that would switch between 6v and 12v

Mate if you go through the trouble of resoldering switches please get a microswitches and at least 18 awg wire because you have the tools to do so and microswitches are only 2-4 dollars each.
I totally pulled off one of the tabs on one of my motors because I'm smart. Is there something I can do about that? I've tried getting saulder in the tiny Crack but it's miniscule and too tedious and I don't want to harm/melt the motor plastic. Am I screwed?
Did you learn basic electronics? It goes directly back to the motor. The electricity from the batteries flows TO THE SWITCH DIRECTLY and then the switch returns the power when pressed to the motor. So only 1 wire touches the battery, the other goes to the motor.
Oh and I forgot to mention! After that, you can build your own gun from scratch, which is level 5. This guy made a 400 PSI gas powered narrow barreled dart blaster that shot the bullet at Mach 2, I shit you not! ua-cam.com/video/fS8_XRYae80/v-deo.html

I don’t have a soldering gun or solder, you should have said, you need a soldering gun and solder for this next part. Because of you my entire gun is in bits and the circuit board is broken
It would be nice if you could record the reassembly (a lot of people, and even me a bit, struggle with it. You could add a timestamp to on the screen for people that know how to assemble. That would be helpful.

Put a spring between the wall of the plastic and the plastic pushers that will make it so you can rev it with no mag in the gun

+Rusty Shackleford 16 awg is best for nerf in my experience, and about a 2/8 or 3/8 inch CPVC or PVC pipe should work fine

Martin Silva it goes from the motor, to the switch, to the battery. The second wire is just leading back to the battery holder.
