Man... this vid sure gives me nostalgia to my W40K days... Also, for anyone who sees this, you don't need to use Citadel Paints, in fact, I wouldn't recommend them at all as they are far too expensive for basic acrylic paints. Just get like, a no name brand and it'll do the job just fine.
I’m bored at home in quarantine so I’m taking apart my nerf gun just for fun to take the light out and wire the light into my GoPro camera. I’m exited for a D.I.Y camera light
5 years later and you're still #1! Would also love to see some alternatives to GW paints. They are very expensive and I prefer to save them for my models, applying that much to something hurts haha
Very Nice Job dude 😁👌! I also love how you mentioned that the orange Tip should always stay orange for when you paint the Nerf Gun in realistic colors 😃👍. I personally think it is also quite good to leave the Nerf-Logo visible😉.
Nice looking blaster, I'll be painting a couple of mine soon, I used to cut and bend a piece of wire coathanger and spraypaint over a newspaper-lined bathtub with the parts dangling from my makeshift jig, this way you get good coverage quicker and you can hold the components to be painted on the hangers so they don't stick to the floor/paper or whatever you cover the worksurface with. Great video though, and a really cool looking blaster in my favourite colours! Thanks for taking the time to make this tutorial.
Mag does pretty clean work specially the detailing and the lettering. If I ever painted my longshot would for sure use stencils to make life easier and to make the writing pop.
I painted my nerf gun using your first tutorial. It didn't come out nearly as nice as yours but I still think you did a great job. I did the same colors as you did in this tutorial(black and red) and I think yours looks amazing. I'll definitely use your tutorials again.
I've done repaint and paint touch ups. 320 grit is still pretty rough, fine would be closer to 1000 grit. Not sure how 320 looks as I've mostly used 200, 400, 600, and 1000.
I don't think I've ever seen close captions work so well. Such clear speech.

Back in 2010ish when I was 9, I didn't have any spray paint so I painted my Recon with a paint brush.
How well did it go?
It always looks like crap
I guess you should of done some “Recon” around the neighborhood for spray paint:)
Gotta make do with what you have!

Good job man. Your gun looks so cool. That helped me is well 👍
Kid i dont know how old you are, but this was a very well made video with clear instructions. Thanks for the help to get my nerf gun painted up.
Probably the best explanation and easy to understand video tutorial I’ve seen!
Whats the purpose in painting the inside of the blaster?
Thank you so much. This was my first nerf mod and the paint matched perfectly.
That really enjoy watching that. Can't wait until my workshop is finished to do that. What gun were you using.
Really good tutorial, if my mod crazed son hasn't watched this yet, he will this weekend!
why are people disliking this?....its literally a tutorial!
I want to paint my guns a Centurion red of sort, would I make that my base color or would I want to use something else?
You want the color you want the majority of the blaster to be to main color.
+MuffinToast 1 Thanks man! Im pretty new to this so thanks for helping me out!
Absolutely fantastic video. So informative & end result looked flawless. Top notch. 👌
I plan on using this tutorial for my Bigshock, I will update my comment when I finish (most likely)!

that nerf gun is so cool i would love a nerf gun like that!
it's actually two nerf guns that he literally cut and pasted together, but the base blaster is similarly cool
After you apply the vinyl dye spray , can I still put on another color using spray paint for plastic ?
