Memoir 44 is a bit too simple and luck based for my taste (at least without expansions). Battlelore seems to have more "game" in it right from the start. Also which theme is more appealing to you? (I like fantasy)
I would also like to see some scenarios that are prepped and ready to go out of the box. Just put the terrain and units down and go (like Memoir). Good for when you have less time or don't feel like doing the unit purchases. Plus they would hopefully be balanced scenarios and somewhat less generic in terms of how they feel in play.
....aaaaand Mr. Royal sells me yet another game. Dang Rick! You're breaking the bank here! :) Seriously though, this looks great. I play M44 with my two boys. The older of the two is definitely ready for something like this. Thanks for the overview!
Thanks for the vid..it looks great and though I'm tempted to get it, I need to first invest my time to The Battles of Westeros. And at least here you do not need to glue all the damn bases on.
We like this game a lot. Our only criticism would be that Fantasy Flight could have included a couple more dice, but that's not a major concern. They are releasing a dice pack which hopefully should get to the UK soon. We liked the variable set up and the Lore system as well as the weak units rule. Great run through as always!
The weak units rule is an optional rule in Battles of Westeros (also designed by Robert Kouba). I play with it all the time. Adds much greatest strategic depth. In general, Battlelore 2.0 borrows very heavily from Battles of Westeros, which is my favorite C&C game.
Very cool game, very unfortunate river shape. Looks like they are attempting to fertilize an egg. I never picked up Memoir 44 and now I am glad. This theme will go over much better. Guessing the base game doesn't have team play?
Interesting. Given the huge number of Memoir 44 expansions and players why not make a "muster your own force" addition set etc to that? The new mechanics seems very very good. Nice video as always.
Excellent orientation video. Watch this and you're ready to play.
Think I am about to order this game finally. Would love to see a runthrough series with you and your son!
Mate, I must commend you on a brilliant video. Clear & concise. You have sold me on the game. Thank you
In love with this game.
This was an awesome demonstration, amazing camera work and angles, lovely to watch, went by fast. Thanks!
thank you ! Hope you enjoy the rest of the channel. Ricky
Very clearly explained video!! Thank you!
Am subscribing to your channel based on this video!
I hope you enjoy the rest of the films. We're coming up to the 200th game to feature, so lots to explore . Thanks for watching. RR.
Memoir 44 vs Battlelore. Any suggestions and comments? I'm still on the fence about getting one of these.

Another great video Ricky - my thoughts are........this game, a Friday night, a good friend and a bottle of Laphroaig. Ordered!!

thanks for the demo! very helpful.
I love this game and I've only played it solo (playing both sides)
It's one of the few games I would play this way. Great choice by you !
How do you do that? You sincerely try to win on both sides?
@@Zaloomination Yeah. On each side's turn, just try to either score as many points as possible or set them up to score in future turns 🙂
I own Memoir '44 with many expansions, C&C:Ancients is on my wishlist. Battlelore looks fun, but I'm not fantasy guy.

Thanks Brian ! Yes, good call on the dice...

haha! they do.... ! SpermLore. I don't see team play, no.... just 2-players...
Interesting.

Danke für das coole Video. Wie immer sehr gut gemacht :)
Du bist willkommen; bitte :)
Looks like fun, shame it's out of print.
Where can I get those neat tokens (diamonds?) that you use to indicate an activated unit?
amazon... search for aquarium stones
Is it worth? (Multiple core sets) & you know how it works??
Are you going to post a game play video?
Perhaps.... i have lots to do first though ;)
Does each scenario relate to a bigger story, ie 'if good player wins turn to page 18, if not turn to 20 etc. Like Imperial Assault?
+chrisdove2104 not really, no
