Hi Joseph - pretty much, yes. I take far more care when I'm painting highly detailed and more expensive miniatures: e.g., metal *Hell Dorado* figures. These small plastic minis are really just glorified playing pieces; they really enhance the game when they're painted, but I don't think it's worth agonising over the paint jobs *too* much.
That looks really good, I've been thinking about painting our Descent figures and after seeing that it's really not that complicated I might give it a go. Thanks for sharing you ideas.
Thanks ateiviz, it's a pleasure.
These look great! Think I'll try painting my set up with GW contrast paints.
I use contrast paints all the time now too, they're great time savers.
congrats, very good job.
You did a really goog job with this minis, the fat guys looks great with the tattoos :^)
This is great, I'm going to copy all this, looks way better than just red and blue figures
LOL at "Next up is the sixty .....urggghhhh .... foot soldiers"
That's a dim distant memory thank goodness.
Haha, I'm following your video along. I've painted all the others and I'm just about the start the ........ 60 foot soldiers. Lol
@@tiffer45 My sympathies - good luck! Put on a good podcast. :)
nice work
Yeah mostly being viewed from a distance, but really how often through time have your friends picked them up to take a closer look?
Surprisingly rarely. 😆
Just wondering, how long did it take you to finish that whole set?
Also, will you be doing a tutorial on the expansions as well?
P.S. Even though you did it all in a rush it still looked fantastic!
It was ages ago now, and I didn’t record how long it took as it was fits and starts over a period of a month I guess. No plans to do the expansions as I’d just be repeating the same techniques really..
Amazing job! Did you paint the Roc warrior first and then assembled it
or the opposite? It seems very difficult to paint it after the assembly; I
mean there are a lot of areas difficult to reach.
Thanasis Petsas I think I did assemble it first, only because these were relatively rough jobs so I wasn't too worried about the detail in there. But normally in these cases I'd paint them separately. No need to make things harder for yourself!
The Esoteric Order of Gamers Thank you! Furthermore, did you prime with spray or using a brush. Did you cover the glass stick that connects the Roc warrior with the base?
Thanasis Petsas Always prime with a spray - the outrageously priced Citadel white is my preference, as the paint seems finer than the cheaper Army Painter spray. I left the glass stick unpainted (I primed the figure off the base).
One more question. What color did you use for the base color of Chaos Lord? Is it the Citadel Ratskin Flesh?
Thanasis Petsas Sorry mate, it was a long time ago now. Just pick a colour you like! :)
The Esoteric Order of Gamers No prob. Thanks!
I've got the Army Painter washes, but where do you get your colour washes? Or do you "make" them?
I used to paint a 40k army. So tedious. I enjoyed playing much more than painting. I -did- enjoy painting my Battlefleet Gothic stuff though.
Ben Turner Citadel make colour washes.
Are you painting these so quickly due to volume and because it's for a board game?
@Joseph Lynn (you don't have reply to your comments turned on) - yes, I spend less time on boardgame figures than tabletop miniature game minis as they're usually far less detailed and lower quality.
paint my minis!!
I've not enough time to paint my own! :)
