Too all the haters piss off. This tune is like all their best grooves in one tune. Catchy as hell.
For me, it's a track that I needed to give a chance to grow on me, kind of like when I forced myself to give the slow-burning first series of "Breaking Bad" a chance to develop, and then I eventually loved it.
My benchmark for a good album for any band/artist is liking a good handful of the songs on the album. Thus far, I've liked pretty much 60-70% of the track on all the latest Helmet albums of the past decade of so.
Paige Hamilton's creativity and ability to keep the formula fresh and engaging with each new album is truly impressive.
Before the last Helmet gig I attended in London a few years ago, I was wondering whether Paige would still sound as good as he did back in my uni days and a little beyond. It turns out I was fretting about nothing, he still had it and also curated an amazing set with some cool tracks including the awesome cover of "army of one" by Bjork.
I just hope he plays "Revenge Destroys Everything" at the gig I'm attending later this year.
Helmet, a beloved band of my younger days and a great influence for many other bands. Waiting for this new album.
Lots of classic Helmet song elements, including a signature Page solo, but the stand out is Page going full potty mouth like never before.

@@badboy46528 yeah the solo and various other familiar elements of a typical Helmet song, are all very well presented in this track. The cool thing about it all, is that Paige can still make all the above sound quite fresh and/or unique.

Strangely Betty is one of the most inconsistent Helmet record as whole.
The first 5th tracks are really iconic, then after that it becomes a bit of a mess.
@@mirak63 right? betty has a great first half but it all starts to blend in the second half. in terms of consistency, meantime was their strongest
I feel Meantime, though a 9/10 work imo, is TOO consistent in its later half. A bit “samey.” Idk, I still love both albums.

What a crazy choice for a single. I remember reading an interview a while back where Page said he hates doing the whole single deal so I think this is his big "fuck you" to that. The riffs are killer and Page has definitely been working on his upper register. Chorus is great. Definitely threw some left hooks upon first listen and it's growing on me every time I listen back.

Sometime once a band loses it, it's gone forever. At least i still have strap it on, meantime & Betty. Helmet has never been the same since.

I keep buying Helmet albums hoping the “next one” will be as epic as meantime/Betty/aftertaste…. -none approached those.

I genuinely don’t understand what happened. Meantime and Betty were masterpieces, and aftertaste was not as good but damn near close. After that it’s just like a completely different band. I know the had lineup changes but it just hasn’t had the same quality

Great song, can't wait to see them in Belfast in December. It will be my second HELMET gig after seeing them on their 30th anniversary tour in Dublin back in 2019.

extremely catchy! and i think this song has the most swearing(but still in tasteful context) of any helmet song prior, interesting for a band that has been recording for close to 4 decades!

Pretty good considering how many years removed from the classic Helmet era this is, I hear some of that but the "modern" production and the over polished chorus kinda ruins it for me, but I still think it's awesome that they're still making new music and it's far better than most new hard rock/metal lately
