So you don't use gorilla glue 😂
I'm glad to see that this company can still exist in this age of mass-produced tables.
My father built 4 tables based on the Brunswick medalist table. He refurbished his first one and then built 2 walnet tables and his final creation was made from Brazillian Rosewood. Thanks for documenting your construction. It brought me back to my childhood and fond memories of my gifted father. Amazing job. Thank you.
I have been a subscriber since the beginning and to see you grow as a craftsman has been truly remarkable. I love to have watched your growth over these 12 years from your small Manhattan shop to your amazing state of the art upstate New York dream workshop. Nobody deserves it more than you. keep up the great work and thank you for teaching us and entertaining us all these years.🙏🏼
Thank you! thank you! thank you! 😊
I can make your words my words, very well said...
Same here.
I can echo those sentiments, I could not have said it better. But you can talk all day about Diresta and his supershop. But its the creativity that sets him apart.
What an impressive and incredible build!
🥰🥰🥰❤️🙏🏼
And with walnut, to top it off! 😉
I think I need a rustic Diresta pool table in my house! Who needs a dining room anyway? 😄
Unfortunately I'd need a new house to fit that table in 😢
Pool player for 65+ years and still enthralled with the game. EVERY game is different. Always a challenge, AND... a never ending learning experience.
"Every game is different" I've never thought of it that way, but it's the absolute truth. 👍
Recently i've been getting a lot of Efrem Reyes videos in my feed.
50 now. started with 14. there where times 6 o 7 hours of playing (hustling) wasn t that unusual. now i have my pool room at home. almost every day for an hour or two i am playing and trying to keep the feel. it is nuts how fast you lose it. never was bored on a pool table. there is always a drill so difficult that you need days or weeks to make it.
Beautiful job Jimmy . You can literally build anything it’s amazing 🤩
Years ago you showed us a tip of glueing a strip of sand paper to a board. I have since used this tip almost daily in my modest shop.
In this video you again show a tip that I will probably use often: the large sanding disk glued to a sheet of plywood.
Thanks for both of these tips and the many others you have shown over the years, and for all the amazing content you have created.
To expand on that concept,
Fabric backed abrasive sheets that tool & die shops use (+$) glued to tempered plate glass will flatten and smooth gasket surfaces of engine parts.
🤜🤛
Very cool table Jimmy! Super fun video too! :)
Thanks brother!!
Laughed when I saw him use the “noisey one”. There’s nothing better for so many odd tasks!
Wow, it looks spectacular!! Awesome work. Absolutely love the metal banding
Damn this is a dream project. Coming from a family that once owned a pool hall in Romeo, Michigan and spent a lot of time learning lessons at the tables... this is beautiful! Well done!
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Wow, extremely impressive !! And I love the family business aspect of Blatt. Cheers
Sensational job. Took a lot of balls to take on a project like this , can’t imagine how you felt once you saw the finished product 😁
Can’t wait to see what you have cued up next 😄 Bravo !
HEHEHE Tripple Groan 🤣
Had to have taken at least 16 balls, right?? Incredible undertaking. Not a scratch on the table, would look perfect in any kitchen. No funny business, just straight pool. Jimmy’s quite the hustler
It took exactly 15 balls to make this! :D
@@zacpruntydon’t forget the workhorse Mr Cue Ball 😄
Congratulations on an amazing table. You must have felt such a sense of pride when it all came together.
I’ve been watching you for years. You’ve been a major inspiration for me in my makers journey. This billiard table is gorgeous. I love the rustic look. Watching you guys work you make it look so easy lol. Thank you for sharing this build. You’re awesome.
This is beautiful. I love the metal accents and wood treatment to refer to a barrel. Fantastic.
Gorgeous! I couldn’t believe the amount of work that went in to this project! Super rewarding for sure.
Well done. I have rebuilt rails on an old brunswick table. As long as you got the bumper height, and pocket angles cut correctly, it will play fine. Blatt is well known across the industry.
Wow, what a challenging undertaking! And you nailed it! It's a beautiful pool table! I never realized how many components go into one! The legs themselves are a work of art! It may have taken a while but SO worth it! Won't this be in the way in the way in the shop? Amazing how Blatt Billiards have survived 100 years in this business! Congrats on 100 years!
Looks good Jimmy. Fantastic craftsmanship, especially for your first table. Keep it up. 👍
Beautiful work and craftsmanship! God bless you and yours! Praying for you!
My first job in high school was with a pool table company. The bees wax and felt were always the most satisfying part. We had to use spray adhesive to attach the felt to the slate, since we didn’t have the poplar base, but man that would have been awesome. Thank you for the video!
Absolutely BEUTIFUL. I was raised with a pool table. I never got really great But I enjoy the game. This has to be one of the MOST Beautiful tables I've ever seen. Please Enjoy it.
Fantastic project! A project that I always wanted to build, but sadly, I never did. Now at age 75, it is well past my capabilities. Congratulations on the obviously very successful build!
Great project! Looks like a ton of work, too. Now you have another large flat surface in the workshop! Thumbs up and thanks for posting.
Ultimately
I know I used this word too much. I was pressed for time and did this VO at 3 am. I was very tired and didn’t realize I used it so much 😅 I did edit out many of them. 💪🏼💪🏼🔥🔥 I’ll retire this word for future videos 😊
@jimmydiresta So ultimately, it will be retired.
@@jimmydirestaUltimately, I don't mind. I was just giving you crap. Great build nonetheless!
@@jimmydiresta Seems to be the right about of Ultimately for the Ultimate pool table.
I counted 16 ... 😏
Awesome build! Some many skills combined in an unique piece! Thanks Jimmy!
That is a gorgeous looking pool table - love the aesthetic of it compared to the fancy carved ones and the rough bandsaw strips did work out really well. I could almost imagine this table having been made by a barrel maker or train coachworker in his spare time as old craftsmen used to do with offcuts - it really has that sort of "old steam rail" sort of vibe.
Jimmy you always amaze us with your skills in building, restoring, upgrading, etc.
I admire you very much, a big hug from Chihuahua, México.
Pleasure to watch for sure!! You never cease to amaze me. Fearless! Huge undertaking, but you are Jimmy Diresta!
Two things i love...woodworking and shooting pool! Ok three things...and a cool guy to do either with! You rock, Jimmy!
A beautiful table and an education in both billiard tables and efficient use of valuable wood.
Great job. Love the table. Awesome to see a Company like the pool table business still around. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Jimmy. This reminds me of the pool table you and your brother built on your old TV show, many years ago. This one is obviously superior in every way but I couldn't help thinking of that old one. This one seems to be built like a tank!
He has another show? Could you please tell me the name?
I was referring to a TV series that Jimmy and his brother John used to have.@@fdort3971
Amazing back history and even better the craftsmanship as usual! Genuine and honest entertainment for sure.
So uplifting, inspiring & motivating. Such beautiful green flatness, corralled by stunning hard wood veneers & strong steel all fettled with love. Such elegance, beauty & presence. Thank you for sharing!
What a brilliant build. That twisting rope to bring it into square is one of the reasons I love this channel, I would not have thought about that!!
Love the steel surround as well
Absolutely amazing beautiful craftsmanship! You make everything look so easy even though it’s not. I guess that is a true sign of a true master. I’m always looking for a new video to drop. Always entertaining and educational. Thanks for sharing your skills!
Truly fantastic project, fits your creative style with professional results.
Absolutely stunning! I love the rustic style that is a part of so many of your designs, and this one does not disappoint!
Wow,wow,wow
Absolutely gorgeous,timeless table
Priceless my friend 🧡
Thanks for sharing 👍
I loved this build! So many great little tricks throughout this video! Thank you!
Nice work! The rustic wood and metal design is classic DiResta.. Awesome build! Some many skills combined in an unique piece! Thanks Jimmy!.
Wow! Such a fantastic project, congratulations to all involved 👏
That really looks fantastic. Love the metal barrel wrapping.
Absolutely amazing Jimmy the table came out beautiful love the look of the wood and steel
Absolutely Fantastic! As always I picked up some ideas and short cuts. Thanks Jimmy!
Awesome build ! Pure craftsmanship.
What a beautiful piece! I learned a ton about the construction from this. Thanks, Jimmy!
Amazing. I had no clue about how these tables are assembled. Thanks a lot Jimmy, this is a masterpiece.
Absolutely FANTASTIC like all other builds!!
Wow, what a great build. It is 100% you Jimmy, enjoy many years of enjoyment with it
You absolutely killed it Jimmy! As an avid pool player I’ve been dying to see this video and the table turned out amazing. I’ve helped move and reassemble a pool table ages ago and it’s so fun to see all those components explained again in this movie. Keep up the good work bud!
Another great Diresta build! Thank you for sharing.
So awesome work. You are obviously super skilled and experienced with woodworking, and its also so cool seeing people who have this really special confidence and experience with pooltables in particular, like Jeff, just come in and do his thing. Bought a cheap used pooltable once, and getting those 3 stones right with no edge is a lot harder than it looks.
Anyone would be more than proud to have that table in their Den... What a conversation piece, in additional to entertainment that should last generations...
Amazing, always impressed by your creativity!
Beautiful work, I love the combo of wood and steel and the rivits for the points was an awesome idea.
Beautiful table and I think your awesome in what you do! Thanks Jimmy.
Ok. Not totally speechless. Love the steel with the wood. Classic!
Looks great. Thanks for sharing your work.
I always learn something watching your videos, even if the project is one that I'm unlikely to duplicate. This time, it was a couple of new to me clamping tricks. And of course, what a gorgeous piece you made - congratulations, and thanks for the inspiration!
Incredible...amazing build to see! Thanks Jimmy...awesome pool table!
Such a cool build! A great process and thank you for showing us all the details! Congratulations on the completion
Nice table. Have lots of fun with it.
Traditionally. the foot is the end that you break towards.
You may come to regret the pointiness of the outside corners.
I love playing pool, I learned a lot about pool tables from this video. Beautiful results!
This was awesome.. super entertaining and it was a pleasure to watch Jeff work.. so many specific trades that you don’t think about until it’s presented to you. Thanks for the knowledge and entertainment, congrats on the 12 years!
Go Cuse!
An amazing build and a great partnership! Beautiful table!
The names covered up, So.. Dewalt not paying you yet? Fantastic design and execution. Glad I finally clicked on this frequent youtube suggestion.
Amazing build, thank you for sharing it with us. I know videos of this length don't exactly please your uncle "Al" (gorithm) , but they certainly make me smile and you doing so Just is another example of your passion and dedication to your craft being your priority. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Hey Jimmy! I've been watching your channel for yonks now and it still surprises me with what you do.
Always inspiring and I admire your imagination to keep coming up with great ideas and sharing your knowledge.
Well done.
One Handed Maker - Australia
Love watching you build, Jimmy. Speechless!
Man, what an awesome Pool table! The rivets used instead of Mother of pearl is perfect.
Not the tightest mighters in the corner may be due to shrinkage, but that's extremely brave, trusting the Milwaukee cordless sliding miter saw. That thing is loose as a goose re repeatability.
Nice! It is really unusual to see a table with full length walnut sides! Looks really classy. The only problem is that having all the rails permanently joined means it's going to be a two man job to recover it. Small price to pay.
Love your builds. I had a table in our L.I. home. Love it. Great build.
What an absolutely amazing build!!!!!
Wow very precise and perfect.. that tables a keeper.
fascinating. I love seeing niche skills like this. Thanks Jimmy for the great video as always and the interview at the end. Totally enthralling!
Nice work! The rustic wood and metal design is classic DiResta.
Awesome Jimmy!! I’ve been looking forward to this build! 😀👊 Last year I bought a house that came with a pool table, but it needs work like new felt, and so a project like this is now on my todo list... As always, thanks for the inspiration! 🙏
That metal bank around the rail looks so solid, great rebounding surface. 😊
Incredible! Looks amazing!
That is an awesome table. Enjoyed watching the building project.
Wow man, such an amazing piece of art, really made my day! Also loved when Jeff said he's being doing from the womb... My father is a designer and I followed his path, I used to say that I've been designing things from the womb...
Wow that is absolutely gorgeous 😮
40min of pure pleasure. Thank you !
Jimmy is the reason I got into hobby wood working slowly building my wood working collection.
Awesome job Jimmy, excellent precision and uniformity
NEXT ON JIMMY DIRESTA...
Jimmy builds a concert grand piano and it's played by one of the masters
That is a beautiful work of art...I'd have to be talked into playing on that...
Fantastic job .looks awesome!
Love the metal banding. Very chic.
You built a BEAUTIFUL Billiards table! ❤❤❤
When I first saw the legs and sides being somewhat "plain", I thought why is the ultimate wood worker not making any fancy, ornate designs but seeing the end product, it is the Perfect table that describes Diresta, rustic and industrial looking. Badass table! Great job, really loved the video and all the work you do.
My brother and I pretty much grew up in bars and pool halls since I was 8. I've been in big tournaments and I can appreciate a nice pool table. I was given a custom table 75 Mi away, I had to disassemble it, drive it home and reassemble, using beeswax on a 3-piece slate similar to yours. I leveled it with a laser level. It was a fun project and thank you for this build and great content all these years. I've heard you over with Feder on fullblast and knife talk, you and the guys are all masters. I also make tables and miscellaneous, from mesquite wood here in Arizona, and that rustic look sells like crazy. The more rustic, the more money. You got a good idea on the design of that pool table you got there. Take a patent along when you sign the contract. Thank you for spreading your knowledge and ingenuity to the rest of us all these years. You have enlightened the world. Hell its a wonder you aint famous, Jimmy. Just my thoughts from a Guy in Tucson.
Thank you! 💪🏼💪🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This looks amazing! Love the details that you put into this.
Wow, your video is extremely detailed. Excellent work 👍 👏
Stunning build, as a child, my Mum and Dad bought a snooker table with a lid on it so we could use it as a dining table. I wish I had room for one.
Epic, and I like how you focused on highlighting the atypical billiard construction techniques
