- I bought this '74 Imperial Lebaron last year for 3800 USD. It has little to no rust, mostly original paint and an unmolested interior. The chrome on the bumpers, mirrors and door handles is very nice; no pitting. The paint has some road rash and small dings but it's still presentable. The vinyl top has some sun damage, but no rust bubbles. Factory options on this Imperial include speed control, power door locks, tele/tilt steering wheel, rear window defogger, power driver seat, power trunk lid release and AM/FM stereo with 8-track player.
It does need a lot of mechanical work (engine oil leaks, suspension bushings, some electrical issues, brake work etc.) but a car like this should not end up in a salvage yard.
GREAT CAR! I (used) to own a '77 New Yorker Brougham (was "Imperial"!) This was WONDERFUL RIDE! My (ex) TRIED MANY TIMES BEFORE SHE FINALLY KILLED IT!
BEAUTIFUL!! There will never be cars like this again!I have a 79 New Yorker (R body) saved it..she runs great and so few left!
It's beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!good luck with It....have fun with this exeptional example and enjoy many miles in comfort............I own a 1977 Chrysler New Yorker...it's loaded ...almost the same, but without 4 disc brakes for example and some other details that where exclusive to Imperial.
Thanks. It's not legally on the road yet, but just sitting in it when it's parked is a relaxing experience.
@@MrZdvy Okay, you mean that it must be registered first when you are aloud to enter the road.Well if so, that is also the case in the netherlands where I live.
My chrysler is also registered as a classic, and that means cars from 40 years and older are free from roadtax. That we have and a price reduction on on insurance.
But then the rule is that I drive a maximum of 5000 km a year....well our country is small so that is not a problem. Mostly I drive it to go to american car meetings.

It was Chrysler's turn to give us a new biggie, even as the brownshirts were poking their big noses into the car business with all these ridiculous rules and regulations...and true horsepower was reduced to a fraction of what it once was! Those like you and I can add two and two!!
