    Love using them to steal objectives or tempting target. They pick a far away obj for tempting target and then you fire and fade a unit of 3 windriders onto it and chip away whats on there and steal it with 6 OC

      Nice dude ikr!? They are fantastic at stealing objectives and have solid damage too!!

    Thanks for this legend! Sorry ive been away for a bit, the Eldar hate from people was getting to me a bit and made me lose the love i had for the faction until i spoke up at my local club and told them that it was making me feel like im the bad guy for playing a faction i love and played before the broken meta of 10th started.

    • @ProxyHammer1
      @ProxyHammer1  11 місяців тому +4

      Ahhh man I’m so sorry 😣 that’s so wrong man seriously!! Honestly though having played this faction for 20 years some people will always give you hate for playing the “tricky” faction. The real issue with the Eldar in this edition was the Wraithknight combo pretty much everything else was ok just a few undercosted units here and there. The game now is much more balanced in general and the Eldar while strong are not tabling people in 3 turns due to wraithknight cheese 🧀
      I’ve always just embraced the hate lol 😆 it has fueled my trolling and love of the faction even more! Don’t let the haters get to you my friend it’s good to see you back!

      @ProxyHammer1 thanks heaps for the kind words mate 😊 and yeah you're spot on, and that's what I had tried explaining to a small amount of the people in my club who were straight up asking the club to ban Eldar until they were nerfed enough in their minds, but wouldn't give the GSC players any of the same trouble they were giving me and the few other Eldar players, even though GSC were obviously just as hard to face as Eldar were.
      I also only ran Wraithguard out of the main Meta units, and people still would continue with the "ohh you only really were able to take that lead because of how broken Eldar are atm" even though they knew my list wasn't an actual meta list in the slightest and it was just me being able to actually be skilful with my army.

    • @ProxyHammer1
      @ProxyHammer1  11 місяців тому

      I've had so many experiences like that, i literally played a highlander list against a Guard player playing a very meta list at the time and by the end of the game he dumped his models and said F this and left the store lol... i forced 44 saves on a 50 man guard blob and instead of rolling his cover he just dipped lol @@SpiritStoneWarrior94-yx3gs

    First. And also Windriders are super underrated. The volume of fire you get with re-roll hits on a cheap MSU unit is fantastic.

      I actually really like the list! The Storm guardians are useful for their sticky objectives but I would swap the defenders for another Farseer Skyrunner for extra guide wherever you need it! Maybe give him the Phoenix gem and keep him hidden.

    Been patiently waiting for you to drop this one. Since our talk in the livestream I’ve been a supporter of the scatter laser deathstar, but now that they have to use Fire and Fade instead of Phantasm it seems that we no longer have the CP budget to boost its shooting with Bladestorm every turn. Well hopefully I’ll be done building my combat patrol soon so I can get some games in the next couple months. Thanks for your insight, Proxy!

    • @ProxyHammer1
      @ProxyHammer1  11 місяців тому +1

      Of course I’m glad I could help! The scatter laser deathstar is still viable imo you just can’t run it and also run fire prisms in the same list 🫤 both compete too hard for Fire and Fade… but honestly I feel myself going harder for War Walkers now than prisms even though prisms are still good they cost a bunch

    under rated is using these guys with a warlock skyrunner with its Reveal ability that removes cover and then they get conceal as well. but you should be putting a warlock or farseer in EVERY unit of these guys. Skyrunner Autarch is ok but i like put him in with 2 or 3 Warlocks skyrunners as his own unit

    I was expecting the "3 Musketeers" to be 1x catapult, 1x cannon, and 1x scatter laser.
    In a small game, this might make a good technical support unit. Especially if you have a more focused squad of 6x Jet Bikes and/or Fire Prism(s) somewhere else?
    Full Disclosure, I haven't played a single game since 6th edition. I've just been slowly updating my Eldar army that I collected back then.
    I was gonna run 6x in my 1,000 point army. I thought a mixed cannons/lasers group might be more interesting/reliable.
    I won't play a game that big till I've painted enough models to play it... except Boarding Actions (so, no Bikes or Vehicles).

    • @ProxyHammer1
      @ProxyHammer1  11 місяців тому

      I definitely see what you mean lol 😆 that would make an interesting unit although way too all over the place tbh.
      If you are going to play at 1k I recommend splitting the unit up into two groups of three so that they can be in different locations on the battlefield giving you maximum board coverage! Definitely give 1k a go! 10th is pretty fun so far!

    I've been using 3 sets of 3 because they're not in tournament lists and it makes people less upset about them.
    But they're actually extremely potent.

      No joke a block of 9 with Lethal Hits from some Shroudrunners is about as Take-All-Comers as you can get since the Dev Wounds nerf.

    • @justindowning3845
      @justindowning3845 11 місяців тому +1

      @@ghost9pm407 the problem with the block of nine is it's harder to hide, so you're going to take damage on them before you get to use them. You can still use the shroud runner to target a unit before your 3 sets of three take it the rest of the way down. I think that's inefficient, unless it's a mission critical target.

    • @ghost9pm407
      @ghost9pm407 11 місяців тому +1

      @@justindowning3845 I don't disagree. I ran a block of 9 of them in a Ynnari bike spam list along with a Farseer Skyrunner to be able to get full re-rolls to hit whether or not the target unit was on an objective.
      I was up against some artillery and to your point I figured they'd be an easy pick up for my opponent since they proc the blast bonus. They came in from reserve and did some nice damage with the Lethal Hits assist.
      I do agree that running 3x3 as easy to hide objective battlers is probably the absolute best way to use them. I do think running a big block as a hammer unit isn't terrible either, just not as efficient.

    Rhe lack of wounds on eldar units people take no notice off which annoys me considering how lore wise they are attuned to the space around them , so even a better save or an extra wound would allow them to appear closer to their lore considering how survivability plays such a big role in their abilities.

    How do you deal with imperial guard indirect as they have stats that can drop bikes really fast?

    • @ProxyHammer1
      @ProxyHammer1  11 місяців тому

      Unfortunately things like the basilisk seem to be almost the perfect counter. If facing a lot of guard artillery reserve your bikes until you can silence the guns. However it is also important to not that the basilisk will hit on a 3+ with d6+3 attacks 4+ if you use LFR on them. Basilisk will probably net about 4 wounds at d2 and you will get a 4+ save so only about 2 will die. Not great but not too devastating considering a basilisk is 135pts

    Recently bought some Windriders, looking forward to getting them up and running. Would you suggest using small groups of 3 to guard and sit on objectives? I'm struggling to find units to sit and hold objectives whilst still contributing to the battle that aren't too expensive

    • @ProxyHammer1
      @ProxyHammer1  11 місяців тому

      Windriders can definitely do that but they are a better trading and mid field unit as groups of 3. Usually our Grav tanks and lone operatives can sit on objectives in the back without getting caught out. However, the opportunity for them to steal an objective with a good use of fire and fade should always be looked out for!

    9 Scatterbikes with a Warlock Skyrunner costs 295pts. I can have 20 Hawks for 300pts. You can use the trick of being exactly 24" away, so Fire Overwatch cannot be used, get 80 shots instead of 54, and have lethal hits auto, without having to have shroud-runners in overwatch range.
    Shroudrunners cost the same as scatterbikes, and have much more utility and firepower per model.
    Windriders are yet another example of the points costs for models being stupid.

    • @ProxyHammer1
      @ProxyHammer1  11 місяців тому +1

      Something to keep in mind however is that the Windriders will get built in rerolls against certain targets while the hawks won’t. I actually think the damage for the hawks is quite superb as well for the points.
      So are 20 hawks better anti light infantry than scatter bikes for the points…yes. But the bikes are considerably tougher against indirect fire with a better base save and higher toughness (plus the warlock gives them that sweet conceal for -1 to hit). Throw fortune on the unit and your opponent will probably shoot else where. They are a great “buff dump”. I personally would rather run Dire Avengers or Hawks post phantasm nerf but the Shuriken cannons absolutely shred most medium to heavy infantry in s way only hawks could dream of.
      I do agree though the point system we have now is completely unequal when it comes to options.

    • @nickthenoodle9206
      @nickthenoodle9206 11 місяців тому +1

      Against 1 damage indirect fire, bikes are tougher, but when it comes to D2+, the extra Hawks do count.
      I've been playing against, and using, a Guard army recently, and their indirect fire will target farseers first!
      Guard proves the points for Eldar are wrong. Overall a Scout Sentinel is better than a Vyper, for its role, as much tougher and cheaper. It doesn't hit quite so hard, but that's not what a sentinel does. 10 Guardians costs almost as much as 20 Guardsmen. With Take Aim, their 2 las-cannons are better than one Bright Lance with re rolls. Gaunts Ghosts at 100pts is far superior to Illic and 5 rangers at 125pts. I can go on. The points system is a joke.@@ProxyHammer1
