These are amazing! Dream army achieved as well with it, truly glorious! My dream army I'm actually on the way to making. My first army was Necrons, I love the lore of the Necrons and I made a custom dynasty that has gone a little off the beaten path. The dynasty themselves is an offshoot of Thokt that split off to take in the refugees that could not make it to stasis when the command to rest happened. Because of this they would be still awake when the silent king instilled into his people a need to achieve Apotheosis. This crossed the wiring a bit in the Phaeron of the offshoot and he has made it his purpose in unlife. He has not gone to sleep and has kept a large portion of his dynasty awake throughout the millennia, going from place to place getting biomass and tissue samples from local populaces to try and push the research further. He has learned from initial failures that trading and helping the people of these outer worlds gives samples that are more intact and of higher quality. They have a core world that houses a hiveworld on it that has developed into what the imperium would call a paradise world. I want to create an army and board that is the apocalypse of this paradise, because my second army is deathwatch. Having a fullscale board that shows a world that was clearly once beautiful, taken care of by mechanical undying legions being destroyed due to the motto of "Suffer not the Alien to Live" would be what I would love to be able to bring to life. Now for the Deathwatch they arrive on a battle barge thrown through a warp storm. This creates a reason to through in other things on this world as either defenders or attackers for either side, from things displaced from time (aos armies or horus heresy), to things that shouldn't normally work together. It just sounds like a fun board to play on, to use as a diorama piece, and to house my armies while not in use.
Thank you! Awesome idea and story of yours! I always have a story to mind when painting, i think it helps inspire me and helps me make decisions about what to paint and where. Its supposed to be fun after all ha!
@@SlayerMiniatures Exactly! Its why I loved how you said you were going to have your army evolve. More dings and scratches, trophies, etc.. I have an overlord that I have as an enforcer, each time he slays a difficult opponent I want to get a shield from that army to mount to him. I already have a magnetized deathwatch stormshield and a dispersion shield. Shows that he is supposed to be the melee beatstick overlord that I envision his role in the dynasty being. Funnily enough he's a similar pose to your spartan wraithknight. That slightly outstretched polearm with the shield to the side just screams duelist eyeing up his next fight to me.
Congrats bro. I began my dream army at the tail end of 2019 when I learned that the Wraith units look kind of like Hollow Knight bugs.... I'll make a video just like yours once I've got it all together!

Thanks Konstantin! Comments like this make it all worth while! I think the Wraithknight-seers were my favourite too! They turned out great! Do you have a dream army?
I recently decided to sell off my massive pile of vampire counts (aka pile of shame) to start collecting eldar. I’m managed to amass a very large number of models that I’m super excited to get into. What got me into the eldar are the open smooth surfaces and the alien nature of the race. I like to free hand so the smooth open panels and armor makes it easier to show off my skill. The alien nature of the eldar really open up opportunity to come up with any number of odd color combinations and weird effects and textures. Eldar ftw
@@SlayerMiniatures Im a little embarrassed to admit how many models I have but let’s just put it this way I’m a completionist and with the exception of a handful of rare Oop harlequins, an original phantom titan some Oop forgworld Corsair’s and a vampire hunter I have almost every model ever produced for there range 😅
The gold marbled into blue reminds me of lapis lazuli, the stone. Beautiful. I have to know who thought to name a purple/violet paint after a purple/violet stone (amethyst), and then call it blue? Were they the kind of colorblind that can't distinguish between blue and violet?

0000 Steel Wool gives a better Marble effect than the wipes, it was also the original material. The wipes do a fine mottled look. I'm guessing the wipes came about because they couldn't get the Steel Wool
No worries, best place to find the 0000 steel wool is a painting and decorators supply shop, Screwfix, B&Q, places like that. Therapy Putty is cheaper than "masking putty" they are the same thing though
Awesome video and awesome army. I thought about starting a Wrathconstruct army and make it synthwave, but this video pushed me over the edge hahaha Very inspiring, have my subscription!
Hi Brian, thanks! I used baby wipes as they are cheap and I saw videos where they got amazing results. I did a video on my tests and either those guides are lies, or I did something wrong! Ha! Some people suggested that wire wool is a good idea as it doesn't leave fibres behind. But, I think it would easily get clogged with paint and be unusual. Seeing as I was painting so many models at once, it made sense to so it with the cheapest option.
@@SlayerMiniatures I'm more about making Kill Team sized skirmish games, and making lots of them, haha. I like the lack of attention span needed to create SOOOO much cool stuff, like you did.
I see we share the same taste in Eldar units. I always thought Wraith constructs were the coolest looking. Maugan Ra, Avatar of Khaine, Banshees, Warp Spiders and the tanks look sweet too, but Wraiths are just that little bit cooler... and they come in different sizes to fit every threat.
All of my favourite models! Like minded! When I read that the wraith cannons open a portal to the warp that swallows the target...I think i fell in love. Ha!
hmmmm (looks at my pile of gray plastic)... Fine I'll get back to painting >.> On a slightly more serious note, this did inspire me to paint again (at least for a little bit). I haven't painted a model in 3 months and my excuse has been "I'm just too busy", which if people looked at my schedule would most likely agree, but it is (at the end of the day), an excuse. I'll make some time to paint over the next week or so to paint :)
I know what you mean, I often lose motivation, but inspiring others really makes me happy and inspires me. The other day I really couldn't be bothered to paint, I was stressed from work and agitated, but I made myself sit down for 10mins to paint. I also paint in silence as I let my mind wander and relax. I didnt realise how long I'd been sat there and my girlfriend came and found me to tell me I'd been painting for about 3 hours. I was so calm and relaxed. I sometimes forget how calming this hobby is. So finding time, even a little bit is so worth it! Don't pressure yourself though :) enjoy it

Great vid Tom. Your former Scottish manager would be proud...
Haha! I forgot to send it to him! Standby
Congrats bro. I began my dream army at the tail end of 2019 when I learned that the Wraith units look kind of like Hollow Knight bugs.... I'll make a video just like yours once I've got it all together!
Glad you liked it 😀 enjoy your own dream army! I'd advise you to savour every moment. It was so fun and rewarding
Bye the way, names, the original was a little pretentious, Illiandius. However, given for my penchant for speed and the passing of Sir Pratchet, I have renamed it Rince Wind.
These look stunning man! Been a pleasure following this dream project.
Thanks Nick! Do you have a dream army?
@@SlayerMiniatures probably been my most productive year, as far as painting goes actually. Across a number of different armies though. Started my own wraith host partly through your project (found your IG while looking for Inspiration for my own!) - A 'Seraphon' army has always been a bit of a dream army for me since the old Lizardmen/Bretonia box. I'm just waiting for some of the models to be refreshed before jumping in I think!
Definatly inspiring me to build my dream army, thank you so much for sharing your army and story ❤
Glad it inspired you :) what is your dream army?
@@SlayerMiniatures I think i have to go back to the beginning to the army i was in awe of when i first discovered 40k which would probably be the drukari
@@StrictlyStarsky I love drukhari too. And lots to choose from with the three 'septs' of devotion. All the haemonculi, wracks and grotesques really appeal to me! I hope you take the plunge one day :)
Great work, outstanding!
Thanks Marcus :) glad you liked it
Awesome!!!!!! So inspirational - thankx for sharing your passion and it was nice to see you realise your dream!
Thanks 😀 do you have a dream army?
Absolutely gorgeous stuff! I’ve been dreaming of making an Iyanden army for over a decade now and this is the absolute best i’ve ever seen it be executed. Love it 😍
Awesome! Honestly they were super fun to paint! And it's reasonably cheap for a 2k point army! I'd recommend buying it before 10th edition comes out :)
Dammit, I didn't even like those dirty Xeno Eldar until seeing your amazing models and hearing their story. And now look what you've done? 😂 Seriously though, thanks for the tour through your hobby journey. I'm seriously going to have to look into these guys now. Their story sounds awesome. I absolutely love how you did those cockpits. Great work all around brutha. 🤜🔥🤛
Wow thanks a lot! Glad i inspired you that much! I was shocked at how well the knights came out! What is your dream army? Hopefully i havent made you change your mind ha!
Did this as well with a Steel Legion Army, took me 3 months of painting and basing, all the box sets of Deadwood and The Unit but damn it I finished it and beat 40K.
Awesome! Worth the effort!
just WOW, I love everything about this. the unique poses, the paintscheme, how much time and effort you put in the video, explaining your steps in such a nice and calm manner. The Wraithknight seers with their plums and speers are my favorites :)
Eldar ftw
Oh nice! I've seen some amazing freehand done on eldar! Especially Wraithknights! What did you end up with in your eldar army?
@@SlayerMiniatures Im a little embarrassed to admit how many models I have but let’s just put it this way I’m a completionist and with the exception of a handful of rare Oop harlequins, an original phantom titan some Oop forgworld Corsair’s and a vampire hunter I have almost every model ever produced for there range 😅
Looks incredible. Now, you have to live with yourself
Thanks and...Good point ha!
Glad you got you dream army painted and ready for the table. Looks great, well done!
Thanks Sam!
The gold marbled into blue reminds me of lapis lazuli, the stone. Beautiful.
I have to know who thought to name a purple/violet paint after a purple/violet stone (amethyst), and then call it blue? Were they the kind of colorblind that can't distinguish between blue and violet?
Thank you Lazer, the marble effect was well worth the effort! And yeah...amethyst blue is an odd name choice!
Congratulations on achieving your dream, they look fantastic!
Thank you Nortic! I'm super happy with them 😀
Amazing! Enjoy your army. And thanks for the painting guide!
Thank you 😊
Absolutely stunning.
Thank you Owls! You're a hoot!
Looks great!,
Thanks mate! Which was your favourite?
@@SlayerMiniatures The one with all the weapons on one arm :). Proper Gundam vibe lol !
@@rochedl that one surprised me. I wasn't sure i liked it but as soon as it was painted it looked awesome!
Woooah amazing man. Gratz on finishing your childhood army. I hope to fix and sort my Tau one day
Do it! You won't regret it :)
Amazing stuff
Thanks Fulktastic! Do you have a dream army?
@@SlayerMiniatures Deamons, but I have proper hobby ADD and have yet to get around to it. Belakor and 1 of each of the Greaters amd a collection of the smaller stuff. Years ago I had the older smaller models for each of the Greaters so getting the updated ones is something I really want to do.
@@Joe_Murph oh that's cool! You clearly have a plan so it will happen one day!
Amazing!!
Thank you! What was your favourite?
@@SlayerMiniatures I think the technique you used at 7:30 was really cool, I'm gonna see if I'll be able to use that in the future.
Super cool! Love all the kit bashes especially the wraith knight glave/spear conversion!
Thank you! I won't lie...they came out way better than I was expecting. Mid way through kitbashing I sat back and said 'damn, that looks cool!' Haha!
These are absolutely insane. Such cool poses and paint
scheme. Amazing work!
Thanks so much! It was so much fun! What was your favourite?
@@SlayerMiniatures I think the two with glaves and the double-sword one, but the one with the triple-cannon on one arm is also a beaut.
Awesome video, really great to see some dreams coming true!
Thanks Keith! I'm so glad that I finally did it!
I love the work you've done. I have my 4 armies and now I have to put them together. Last thing I need for one I have is a warlord titan but I have to save for it.
I'd love a massive titan one day! Maybe an eldar one :)
i didn't realize your stuff was the cool conversion video i watched a bit back it all looks fantastic together and you inspired me a big back then to customize my crisis suits more
Hi tiki! Glad I inspired you and that you found me again ha! How did you do you suits?
Came back to watch again because this is such a great video. I remember seeing the conversion videos and just sitting on the edge of my seat for this one. I'm glad you took your time cause this really turned out man.
Thanks alot! This whole thing took me about 6 months in total to do :) I enjoyed every minute of it too!
Yo this is fantastic! I lost my mind when I saw the marbling effect
Thank you 😊 I did a whole video on the marble effect! It looks so good! A successful experiment ha
Always get strong Evangelion vibes from these models, awesome!
Thank you :)
I won't lie...I had to Google it. Ive never heard of it, but it looks cool! Would you recommend watching it?
@@SlayerMiniatures Absolutely recommend it. The series is on Netflix (new voiceovers are meh) or hop to the three films for a more condensed and modernized version.
When I finally jump into 40k elder r def the move. I could only hope to have an army looking this fresh.
Thank you 😊 they came out well!
Not sure why this popped up on my feed, but this was cool to watch. They look great!
Are you not into warhammer? Is that why its odd it popped up? Thanks for watching anyway 🙂 and glad you liked it 😊
This army is beautiful!!! Very nice work.
Thanks you!
Legit! Great work. I build armies yearly, but this somehow rang more true. Your living the dream, have some fun.
Thank you 😊 have you built your dream army then?
@@SlayerMiniatures Orks, I've been playing for many years now, but only recently found them and consider them my favorite. When my Titans arrive, then I'll have it lol
elvers in any form need a proper externinatus but that shit is tight. well done.
Haha thanks!
"Let the dead rise to join our numbers... lest we join theirs..."
Awesome quote. Love it
Beautiful work and a great video. Congrats on the cool army
Thanks Carl! It was well worth the effort! Do you have a dream army?
awesome. best way to spend some adult money! working on the dream army now
What is yours matt? Wolves?
@@SlayerMiniatures Yup out of retirement from 2003 !
@@matthius519 sweeeeeeeet!!
0000 Steel Wool gives a better Marble effect than the wipes, it was also the original material. The wipes do a fine mottled look. I'm guessing the wipes came about because they couldn't get the Steel Wool
Yeah I had a few people suggest that too. I'll deffo use that next time. I plan to do a titan at some point. I'll happily take any tips and tricks
No worries, best place to find the 0000 steel wool is a painting and decorators supply shop, Screwfix, B&Q, places like that. Therapy Putty is cheaper than "masking putty" they are the same thing though
God those Wraithknight Seers are pleasing to the eye.
Yeah...I won't lie..when i painted them and looked at them...I literally said aloud...they look f***ing awesome! Ha
Wow dude! Incredible!!!!
Glad you liked it!
Looks awesome !!!
Thanks Thomas! Great name by the way
Awesome video and awesome army. I thought about starting a Wrathconstruct army and make it synthwave, but this video pushed me over the edge hahaha
Very inspiring, have my subscription!
Awesome! Honestly this was one of the most fun projects I've ever done!
Looks sick bro! You think gauze will work instead of the baby wipes for the marbling? Figured there’s a method to the madness lol
Thats a fantastic looking army.
Thanks Carl! Do you have a dream army?
Man, that turned out amazing! Excellent work!
Thanks Lee! Do you have a dream army?
Ha!
Great vid dude, currently trying to build a blood angels army, who'd have thought there's sooooo many reds 🤣
Thanks Ben! I've done a guide on blood angels, in a dark red scheme. Yes there are lots of reds! Haha
hmmmm (looks at my pile of gray plastic)... Fine I'll get back to painting >.>
On a slightly more serious note, this did inspire me to paint again (at least for a little bit).
Don't pressure yourself though :) enjoy it
very nice dude. i'm about to embark on my same type of journey with dark angels, that i've been waiting a couple of decades to do. I finally have all 3 of the time, money and skill to do it so should be fun.
Oh that is awesome! I am so excited for you! Enjoy it mate :)
Just a little tip...I wish I had bought my old codexes like in the video. It would have been an even higher level of nostalgia to see those books again while painting
Very inspiring, thanks!
Thanks Kelly! Do you have a dream army?
@@SlayerMiniatures I've always wanted an epic High Elves Army with Dragons and tons of Cavalry. I have it, built it and my #1 hobby goal for the New Year is to complete this huge collection. I have decided to play 6th Edition WHFB, so I'm mustering a couple armies to do that, currently finishing 20+ year old Orcs and a Giant before moving on to those Elves.
@@kellykuciemba6789 oh that sounds so cool! I was in two minds when I got into warhammer. Fantasy or 40k. I went with 40k, but I was very close to getting a high elf army! I ended up buying the army book. The Dragon Princes of Caledor were just so cool. And Swordmasters of Hoeth!
If they bring them back in 'The Old World' I'd have to start them!
Damn. Was never a fan of Eldar minis when I was a kid in the 90s/early 2000s, with the grav tanks being the only exception, those were pretty cool. But again.... damn that army looks cool. Well painted and the models have clearly improved a great deal from when I used to have tabletop armies. If it weren't for the obscene price of plastic crack I'd probably have another go as an adult.
Thank you! 😊
I think I only paid full price for 3 knights and 2 start collecting boxes. Everything else was bought for super cheap on ebay...Well, cheap in comparison to the full price.
I think 4 of the knights were less than £40 each? Thanks for the kind words! Sorry if I tempted you to start! Ha
You got so much character going in each model - really nice work mate
Thanks Aide! Was well worth the effort
Incredible work man, well done.
Thanks Barry! Glad you liked it
They came out nice, my Craftworld has always been Saim-Hann, so not quite so many Wraiths for me to paint, lots of bikes though!
Nice! I plan to do each craftworld eventually. I have all the models to do saim hann and alaitoc
Cool, I've probably got enough Wraiths to do a small army of them, I'll have to have a look and see. I picked up a second hand army that was half painted a few years back, that had quite a few tanks in it in various stages of completion
I'm really looking forward to the rest of the plastic Aspect Warriors coming out too, just wish they'd do it quicker!😂😂
Absolutely stunning!
Thank you 😊
Very inspiring! What a stunning scheme
Thank you Quercus! Which was your favourite?
This was an amazing video, great colors and quality of the paint job! Bravo 👏
Thank you :) the pink worked really well I think. I wasn't sure until the grime stage haha!
This was so awesome and inspirational! It makes me so happy to see an army painted with such love. Hope to see more of these wraith as they evolve with time.
On a side note, would you mind sharing how/what color you primed the wraithguard before airbrushing with the iyanden contrast? It seemed slightly different to the larger wraith models, but the outcome was stellar and still matched the whole army.
Hi dude, glad you liked it :)
The guard are sprayed in spots of wraithbone/cream and the zandri dust/sand colout cans that I used for the knights. All the same colours just I didnt do any marble effect on the guard as it wouldn't be visible. Hope that helps
I enjoyed this redemption arc.
Thank you 😊
