What’s really the gift from Rick’s videos is that they take you back to your childhood when you watched these shows and allow you to to make the connection between what you know now about timelines and actors etc and go back so to speak and have what I call that “aha” moment. It sparks at least for me doing a little research on where these actors are now or when they passed and what other shows or movies they were in. It keeps these memories alive and again at least for me makes me smile and say to myself that’s really cool. So thanks again Rick.
I really appreciate this Mike! This is my aim: to bring everyone back to their childhood and enjoy these wonderful shows that we still love today.
Exactly❤!
It’s really fun to watch shows like Adam-12 again to see all the actors who were just starting out. It was such a great era for TV. 📺
I love all the older shows now coming back on cable and satellite TV. Adam 12 was my favorite and Leave it to Beaver, and Police Woman, during my childhood was another. I remember the Dodge, Chevy Impala, and Ford LTD, full size vehicles were popular as Police cars at the time.
Thank you for covering Adam 12. When I was very young, I did not notice actors from one role to another except for a few. Love Kenneth Washington in Hogans Heroes.
Kenneth Washington is last surviving main cast member of Hogan's Heroes.
Interesting fact: Back in the day (before cable), local TV stations weren't ironbound to broadcast network TV shows at mandated times and where I lived (Albuquerque) was a prime example. Whatever time slot Adam 12 had must have been taken by a local show and Adam 12, if it appeared, you could catch it sometime on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
I never realized that Cloris Leachman was on Adam -12!!! Good catch Rick!!! 👍👍🙂
Yes I never knew either!
That was awesome. I didn't know it was her either.
Color T.V.'s were quite the innovation back then. We didn't get a color set till 1975. It was tough I tells you, having to watch Batman and Star Trek in black an white. 😅
Hello Rick,
I grew up watching Adam 12, however, I don't remember this particular episode. My hubby watches Hogan's Hero's on week nights. They are both great shows with good acting.
I became a police patrol officer back in 1979 and my interest was from watching Adam 12. I've been retired now for 6 years.
Please continue covering these two shows. Thank you! 👍💙👮♀️🚔👮♂️
Adam12 airs several times a day - ME-TV from 5 to 6pm eastern Monday thru Friday. And on FE-TV from 6 to 7pm eastern and 11 to 12 am eastern. FE-TV episodes air 7 days a week. And yes I am a fan of Adam 12 and Emergency as well,Rick. Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely LOVE that you are making videos for Adam 12 👮♂️!!!!
I don't remember Kenneth Washington having been on Adam-12. He was on Hogan's for the entire sixth season, though, beginning in the fall of 1970 on into 1971. (The last original episode aired Sunday, April 4, 1971; I don't know if, or how long, summer reruns aired.)
It’s always cool to see you talking more about Adam-12. It’s really cool to learn some stuff about these shows Rick, keep up the great work and have a great day. Take care!
Cloris Leachman was also in Young Frankenstein. If I remember correctly.
Everyone have a wonderful day.
How about Adam 12 and Emergancy cross overs? In Emergancy it started out that Adam 12 was real life in referenced in the show then it became just a tv show
I never knew that he was in Hogan's Heroes. So far I've seen Cloris Leachman who I barely recognized. Also seen Burt Mustin, Sandra Gould, Donna Douglas, Peggy Rae, Dick Wilson, and a very young Leslie Charleston who would go on to play Monica Quartermain on General Hospital.
I love watching Adam 12 because It helps me remember what LA looked like when I was a kid. All the little trees are big trees now and the fancy apartments are now kind of worn out looking and over crowded compared to what they were in the 60s . These cop shows are kind of funny re how bad pot was considering it is everywhere now .
Got by me. I had not noticed Mr. Washington in either role. Thanks for pointing it out. ( I DO notice that Sweet Corvette convertible that has a reoccurring role!)
Didn't realize that was Cloris Leachman! I knew that was him on A12 and HH!
Thanks Rick. Love the facts. I loved Adam 12
I always made the connection of the Star Trek and Hogan's Heroes with Washington being on the episode "That Which Survives," third season -- Jan 24, 1969.
But of course, it's always fun to check out what rick nineg finds for us.
My fave Adam-12 episode ? "El Presidenté, El Presidenté- viva El Presidenté !!"
So corny & funny....
🚬😎👍
Dang! a fan of both growing up and .. no... I never knew, thanks Rick :)
I would like to have a DVD box set of Adam 12 guess I have to go Amazon shopping 😅
Truly enjoy this channel.
I never thought about him being in both, but he is clearly the same guy. Thanks for the interesting video!
Sgt Baker was simply a sergeant. Kinch was a staff sergeant and was out ranked by tech sergeant Carter, HOWEVER, Hogan usually ALWAYS turned to Kinch for advice and such. It was quite unusual for a Black character to be given responsibility like that back then.
Color TV’s were quite expensive in 1968.
Enjoyed this, and all your content. And no, I did not know this.
Cloris Leachman was also Timmy's mother on Lassie before she was replaced by June Lockhart.
Jack Webb paid LAPD officers for encounters that were worked into an episode. The PD and FD dispatchers' voices heard were employed by the LAPD and tge LACFD. Once or twice the "A-12" dispatcher was in a scene. The "Emergency" dispatcher was seen several times. Mike Stoker was an LACFD engineer like on TV.
I don’t remember, was Ivan Dixon‘s character departure ever explained on Hogan’s Heroes?
I did not know this, I was not a big fan of his on Hogan's heros. I love Ivan Dixon and thought it was sad to see him leave. As always thank you for bring this up.
Hey Rick
Thank you for sharing another good video😊
Edit...oops
Take care😊
I love learning about the actors that have bitt parts m the series. I had no idea that Kenneth Washington with an Adam 12. Good to know. Please share more lesser-known’s.
Dispatcher: One Adam 12, One Adam 12, go to the station and see the man, a Mr. Nineg. He wants to discuss some matters with you. Reed: One Adam 12 roger. Malloy: I wonder what he wants now?
TBH, it never registered with me. That was around the time I was finishing high school and starting college, and I was really pushing myself academically.
I watched Adam-12 as a child of course. I started watching them just a few months ago again and found that they were not as good as when I was little. I am now watching another show that has a bunch of famous people running through it. Perry Mason! In the first season I saw Angie Dickenson without recognizing her. Just saw her name in the credits and rewound to find she barely looked the same.
kw appeared in a season 3 episode of star trek also. Nice ost rick!
I figured Kenny Washington would have been on Hogan's Heroes first, since H.H. debuted in '65, and Adam 12 in '68.
Weren’t Hoppy and Smitty from Sanford and Son also LA police as the Adam 12 unit were? Can you imagine an episode with them all meeting up? 😂
As for the color tv story line, it fits the era, as I believe color TVs were the novelty item then and not every household could afford them. Cigarettes on the other hand? Seemed everyone smoked back then. But hey, great video , I learned a lot and I really liked seeing the old snack machine they had in the station break room! Your videos are always the best to watch and rewatch. So many details to enjoy!
There was ANOTHER Hogan's Hero on Adam-12. Larry Hovis (Sgt. Carter) appeared as a sleazy agent/photographer taking pictures of aa very naked girl on the beach in the Season 6 episode "Venice Division" (Episode 5). I almost missed it when I was watching it recently and had to do a double take, but it is definitely him.
Color TVs were expensive up to the late 80s
❤
👍👍👍👍👍
How 'bout the Melody Patterson episode??
The beast be a cool episode to cover season 5 episode
Just started watching Adam 12. Mostly because of Kent McCord.
Pete Malloy smoking a cigarette, thats just not right.
The Donna Douglas episode is interesting because she plays a rich snobby women....this was after Bev Hillb and she was finally comfortable in her rich status!
This is completely unrelated to this video but I'm hoping someone sees this. I know many shows used I Love Lucy's laugh track. And Lucille Ball's mom was the "uh oh" lady right guys? Ok Season 2 Episode 30 of Bewitched. I think I hear it but I can't be sure.
Yes it’s Lucy’s real mom
No idea a the time.
She mustve been using that horrible, low grade marijuana in the episode.
That stuff will kill you kids.
There are a few episodes of Dragnet which have me on the floor...I need to watch these
@@lazyhomebody1356 yeah. Times surely we're funnier back then. Now I fear for the future with the horrible opioid pandemic.
One day someone will laugh at this comment for that dangerous opioid.
@@daBEAGLE1017 ummmm, I doubt that! It's really tragic how people got hooked, after doctors and drug companies lied their heads off. But stronger drugs are coming, so, maybe! The last time I smoked it was waaaay too strong for me. I really prefer beer, lol. Reefer Madness has nothing on Dragnet!
@@lazyhomebody1356 yeah, Big Pharma really did the world in. They unleashed the beast.
I know, I've been there and know many who are still there.
Just like Jagger said in the 60s with Mother's Little Helper.
Problems will only get more sophisticated just like vices.
@@lazyhomebody1356 ps.....gotta love beer from Milwaukee.
Kenneth Washington was an awful actor in the days of bad acting. He was given next to no lines in Hogan's Heroes after he replaced an awesome actor, Ivan Dixon. In Adam -12 his lines were delivered like he was reading off large cue cards.
I remember the orange chairs, the vending machines and other snack room furniture! All a ugly color!!
