Is it important to create apple id with icloud email? Currently i am having an custom email which i mainly use, do i have to create icloud email to acess all features? So i miss anything if i create apple account with non icloud email? What would be differences?
Great question @laptoplaptop4461! As far the the functionality and services offered while using an Apple Account, there really is no difference to have an Apple Account using an email provided from Apple ending in @iCloud.com or an email by 3rd party company like Gmail. The only minor thing I can thing of is using Apple's email system. Even if you had an Apple Account that is a gmail email address, when you use Apple Mail, it will prompt you to create a primary iCloud email address, so you would still be able to use Apple's email system. I think it comes down to simplicity. I use iCloud because it's a one-stop shop for everything. I can log into iCloud.com if I needed to and see all of my contacts, calendars, email, notes, photos, etc. If I wasn't using an email address ending in @iCloud.com, that probably means my contacts are maybe in gmail and my email could be in gmail, but my photos may be in iCloud. So that would be two different websites that I need to log into, to see my information. The more important thing is just understanding the accounts and where your information actually lives. I hope that helps and makes sense. Thank you so much for taking your time to watch this video! If it was helpful or you learned something new, please SUBSCRIBE to my channel if you haven’t already! @@Learnwithjoel Don’t worry, I’ve already figured out how to create an Apple account on the website and the settings app on my iPad and iPhone. I’m really enjoying the new Apple intelligence features, like the Image Playground, Image Wand, and Genmoji on iOS 18.2 RC and iPadOS 18.2 RC. How about you?
Oh, and I just noticed that the video title changed when I was writing my previous comment. It now says ‘2024’, which is a bit confusing since ‘2025’ is only four or five weeks away.
@@OmarTheOmar1.0offical Yeah, creating new accounts can be pretty straight forward. Image Playground is a little fun. I wish it had more. My biggest issue with it is when you choose a photo based off the face, I like the first choice, but then when you go to edit it, it changes on you! Other than that, there is still room for improvement. It will get better as time goes on. The writing tools are pretty nice too. Genmoji...meh. It's ok. I find many prompts are so similar.
An question... Assume that i have total 100 photos and videos and they all sync to icloud photos, now i went into setting and turn off icloud photos sync, now i deleted all those photos from my photos app(which just gonna delete from iphone) now..i use phone with icloud photos off for few days, after some days and new pictures captured (asume 10 extra pictures), i turn on icloud photos back , what will happen now? Will those photos which i deleted(those 100 pictures) when sync was off gonna get delete? Or something else? If possible...give a detail explanation
Great question @itsmeBalara! Consider iCloud.com the source of truth. I just tested this to verify if anything has changed and it's still the same...so for example: I have 2 apple devices: iPhone and iPad. Both are signed in using the same Apple Account and both have iCloud Photos turned on and they both show 200 photos on them. When I turn off iCloud Photo syncing on the iPad, depending on if you're optimizing photo storage or not, you will be prompted with a message saying it would delete photos that are optimized that really are not on the device. If you're not familiar with these settings and how Photo Optimizing works, I will link the following video below: Storage is FULL! - How to OPTIMIZE FILES and FIX your STORAGE PROBLEMS on Macs, iPhones and iPads ua-cam.com/video/VhGG6goINBM/v-deo.html FREE UP SPACE on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac - The BEST WAY to OPTIMIZE iPhone & iPad Storage ua-cam.com/video/bGmN-C-6W7A/v-deo.html DELETE ALL iCloud Photos the CORRECT WAY! ua-cam.com/video/69_UM6Rgnk8/v-deo.html So...once I turn off syncing on the iPad for iCloud Photos, whether you download the originals or have it delete the optimized ones, you will be left with what ever is locally on the device. So pretend it downloaded all the 200 photos, so it's still reflects the same photos as iCloud.com and the iPhone. If you now delete 50 photos, so now there is 150 photos, those are only deleted on the iPad. If you take 10 new photos on the iPad, they will only be on the iPad and not on the iPhone or iCloud.com. Now the million dollar question, what happens if you turn iCloud Photo syncing back on within the iPad settings. When you turn Photo syncing back on, the 50 photos you deleted on the iPad, will not be deleted from the iPhone or iCloud.com. In fact, they will be put back on the iPad because they still live in iCloud.com. The 10 new photos that you took on the iPad while syncing was turned off, will then sync and be added to the iPhone and iCloud.com. So naturally in this example, we started with 200 photos, turned off syncing on iPad, deleted 50, took 10 new ones and then turned on photo syncing again. After doing all of this, you would end up with 210 photos on the iPhone, iPad and iCloud.com. I hope that helps and makes sense! Thank you so much for taking your time to watch this video! Is this possible? Like i am having my icloud photos and all my photos and videos getting stored in icloud, now is it possible to setup an automatic system in which all my photos gets downloaded into my mac in original quality and than saved to my external drive ? And no matter what is deleted from my icloud photos , those photos always stay in drive?Assume just an worst case if icloud shutdown or anything,
Great question @zstork! Ideally you would only want one Apple Account. On any Apple device like a Mac, iPhone or iPad, you're able to sign into one main Apple Account that synchronizes with Apple Photos, Keychains, Contacts, Calendars, Safari Bookmarks and more. It also can be the same account used for all of your App purchases and subscriptions. Although you can create and have other Apple Accounts, it all depends on your main goal. I do believe there is a certain amount of Apple Accounts that you can create from a single device, but overall, you can create many if you really wanted to. I probably have about 20 or so for various testing purposes over the years. Thank you so much for taking your time to watch this video!
