I am definitely very late but I love these designs! And while I love the inclusion of a character being a narcissist (as someone with NPD narcissistic traits being explored), I feel like including it on a character who's a killer is a bit odd? I understand that people with NPD can come off as a whole hivemind of people who strive to harm others, but most people with NPD would not go to the lengths to take someone's life. More so, if they felt necessary, they'd just try and make themselves seem "better" than whoever they see as a rival. But I also feel like her NPD doesn't contribute necessarily to her life endings if I'm understanding your story? Because I also think we should have characters who are bad people and have mental illnesses, because people who are mentally ill are still able to be bad people, it's just not solely their disorder. But I like the idea a lot! It could help contribute to how she makes herself stand out. These redesigns are great and I like the idea of Ryoba having NPD in general!

Your Soko makes me want a game, book, manga, or series about a detective girl that looks just like them with that exact concept. They have to pretend to love the main guy in order to lure out the killer, however along the way as she's spending more time with him, both characters actually do fall for each other.

I liked the concept you had in mind for the characters, but Ryoba's redesign didn't convince me, her design made her look like another character. I know it's an Au. In any case, I would have made the protagonist retain certain features that make her see that she is Ryoba.

BTW I LOVE YOUR ART! below is me criticizing storytelling and leaving my own opinion so beware [which is just mine for anyone who reads this im not saying it has to be like this lol] im the only one who hates the idea of the jokichi thing,,,, i personally find it to be an unnecessary addition [and i think if you want evil, or psychological theres a ton of more ways you’d go about that since that doesn’t scratch the surface really? she kidnaps him regardless and manipulates him so they’re not going to be his genuine feelings anyhow, sexuality wouldn’t be a plot point i’d personally consider here if i wanted *dark*. i mean you don’t even have to make him gay for this [for the record im not saying this out of homophobia, im literally queer] so it does feel like its just a way to make him gay. a way you could go about that i suppose though is considering it is the 80s you can make him deathly afraid of someone finding out he’s gay, and she can use this to manipulate him, threatening his secret and could be used for a mind break route. although i personally still don’t love that i don’t think it’d be the worst storytelling! personally i think a way to go about that instead of that is instead of him slowly just getting depressed because of his friends dying, it could be used to make him anxious instead. she could leave hints, make it specific points where it has to be “his fault” he no longer feels like he can speak to anyone and begins to self isolate. this is when she can pick him up from his troubles, while now being closer to manipulate him even more. for the plot point of their marriage being darker, i think by this point he’s already going to have a clear idea of what his wife really is [since…she kidnaps him originally.] his feelings never mattered in this however, only the ideal of their relationship. mind break would be a huge thing for this plot point i feel and especially since they’d need to portray themselves perfectly fine infront of ayano, since i dont think ryoba would want her daughter to necessarily be introduced to their dynamic [and this is also the basis for her to continue the cycle, not see the behind the scenes]

The designs are good but the backstories are hella confusing. How would the 2nd victim snoop around and make things difficult by searching for a killer if the first kill hasn’t even happened? How would she even know the motive for the killing to pretend to have a crush on a guy? Feels like that character should’ve been much later in the timeline, after a few kills for her to have any idea of a pattern. And you know, would KNOW a killer is on the loose.
Honestly I love the idea that he (bisexual) because it a good idea to explain why yandere Chan never had time with her father and once he saw that his daughter was like his mother he abandons his family as he was never attached to family. And it would build character on him.
What does bisexuality have to do with having time with your kid and emotionally neglecting them (I’m assuming you mean neglect and not abandonment since he literally cannot do that)? I can’t believe I’m saying this but Yan dev’s backstory there is better. He actually cares about his daughter and tried to make her not be like the mom, but failed. He doesn’t care about his wife at all, of course. But the idea that him being bi means he wouldn’t care about he has no attachment to family, doesn’t care about his kid, or have time with them is crazy. Him wanting less to do with the kid would be due to it being a forced marriage where he was r*ped. Bisexuality has nothing to do with anything.

im the only one who hates the idea of the jokichi thing,,,, i personally find it to be an unnecessary addition [and i think if you want evil, or psychological theres a ton of more ways you’d go about that since that doesn’t scratch the surface really? she kidnaps him regardless and manipulates him so they’re not going to be his genuine feelings anyhow, sexuality wouldn’t be a plot point i’d personally consider here if i wanted *dark*. i mean you don’t even have to make him gay for this [for the record im not saying this out of homophobia, im literally queer] so it does feel like its just a way to make him gay. a way you could go about that i suppose though is considering it is the 80s you can make him deathly afraid of someone finding out he’s gay, and she can use this to manipulate him, threatening his secret and could be used for a mind break route. although i personally still don’t love that i don’t think it’d be the worst storytelling!
personally i think a way to go about that instead of that is instead of him slowly just getting depressed because of his friends dying, it could be used to make him anxious instead. she could leave hints, make it specific points where it has to be “his fault” he no longer feels like he can speak to anyone and begins to self isolate. this is when she can pick him up from his troubles, while now being closer to manipulate him even more. for the plot point of their marriage being darker, i think by this point he’s already going to have a clear idea of what his wife really is [since…she kidnaps him originally.] his feelings never mattered in this however, only the ideal of their relationship. mind break would be a huge thing for this plot point i feel and especially since they’d need to portray themselves perfectly fine infront of ayano, since i dont think ryoba would want her daughter to necessarily be introduced to their dynamic [and this is also the basis for her to continue the cycle, not see the behind the scenes]
i absolutely adore this rewrite its so creative, the changes to jokichi’s character make so much sense for the story & the points you made i love them so much, tysm for taking the time to write this aswell!🩵

The designs are good but the backstories are hella confusing. How would the 2nd victim snoop around and make things difficult by searching for a killer if the first kill hasn’t even happened? How would she even know the motive for the killing to pretend to have a crush on a guy?
Feels like that character should’ve been much later in the timeline, after a few kills for her to have any idea of a pattern. And you know, would KNOW a killer is on the loose.

Honestly I love the idea that he (bisexual) because it a good idea to explain why yandere Chan never had time with her father and once he saw that his daughter was like his mother he abandons his family as he was never attached to family. And it would build character on him.
What does bisexuality have to do with having time with your kid and emotionally neglecting them (I’m assuming you mean neglect and not abandonment since he literally cannot do that)?
I can’t believe I’m saying this but Yan dev’s backstory there is better. He actually cares about his daughter and tried to make her not be like the mom, but failed. He doesn’t care about his wife at all, of course. But the idea that him being bi means he wouldn’t care about he has no attachment to family, doesn’t care about his kid, or have time with them is crazy.
Him wanting less to do with the kid would be due to it being a forced marriage where he was r*ped. Bisexuality has nothing to do with anything.
