- Guinea Pig squeals from being held incorrectly. This is a video I found from 12 years ago, comments should be to encourage others not to do this and what is the correct way which is close to your body supporting the whole body, we no longer have any pigs so I cannot demonstrate the proper way. IME thats not a sound of pain, but very much NOT a happy pig.
My oldest is a bit of a prima donna and sometimes makes a sound like this when being picked up
Always calms down when you actually get her up though (with 1 exception which did scare me, but i think she might have had a nightmare or something)

@@spunkiethejunkie umm the guinea pig is just being flipped not properly so he/she is okay I have one of my own and I do 4H with her so I know what she is doing with the guinea pig. The guinea pig may not like it, but he/she is okay
The reason why he squeaking is cause he’s stressed out all ways remember to support the bottom half of the guinea pig too. but do not touch there butt also, she was kind of choking with him with her thumbs just remember to know what you’re doing before you get a guinea pig (yes, I know it says how to not hold a guinea pig)❤

This is funny, however the internet somewhat has a point.
Holding your piggy like this can hurt their shoulders, give them back problems, and causes them a lot of stress. They dont like it, and so they struggle, which ends in them being..dropped. Which, well, you can guess what happens.
Guinea pigs are very fragile, and get stressed easily as they are prey animals.
So on some note, I do agree, but on the other(care of the pig) Im gonna take the internets side.

Of course that poor baby is screaming. You are providing no support to the delicate rear at all causing immense stress on its’ already fragile spinal structure. On top of that you have it in a painful under-arm grip… your hand pressure is crushing its’ ribs and since I already mentioned that there is no rump support, the weight of its’ body is putting so much pressure on the points where you are holding the guinea pig. These animals are so much smaller than you and thusly require much more deliberation in the way that they are handled. Please please please never hold the poor little guy like this ever again. Please also study their anatomy so you can further understand why they should not be held in such a manner. It could honestly prevent you completely from seriously hurting it.

Baby Guinea Pigs when the airplane takes off
I have 9 of them and seeing this made me cry from his cry’s bro when ever mine made that sound I was either so excited I was squeezing them too hard or I was not feeding them well enough, and obviously I held them like this when I first got them, I was new to it what did u expect
if u didn’t know the Guinea pig is screaming because A. She isn’t supporting the butt (they r very heavy in the bottay) B. She petting the Guinea pigs fur the opposite way it’s supposed to go ( when u do this it is very painful and stressful for ur Guinea pig so *dont* :၊ )

Idky but my guinea pig must be Superman compared to everyone else’s 😂 I found 3 outside of a petco took them home, then ended up with 13 somehow, raised them until they didn’t need their mother anymore gave them up for adoption kept my one male and he’s been doing great ever since. Raised him since about 3 months old since he was part of the initial 3 and he has every shot and has never been sick or needed to go to the vet. I regularly handle him rougher than this and he loves it. He likes jumping off of things although I really try not to let that happen. Real personality on him, although I’d like to get another he seems to prefer being alone. I’ve tired a few times to reintroduce a new piggy slowly but he just focuses on dominating them 24/7 and bit ones ear and paw one day so I truly think mine is just different from most 😭 He only squeaks when he wants food too but I see him popcorn daily and he’s always ready to come out and play so I’d say he’s happy overall
