Thanks Dylan - yet another enjoyable video. As a North Wales based sailor who has never ventured to the south coast, it's interesting to see the area and places which are unfamiliar to me. Mind you, judging by the amount of boat traffic around, I'm glad I'm up here in less-crowded waters!
I thought it was very interesting, and amazingly calm at The Bridge. You were very relaxed about the section from Ryde Pier to Horse Sand Fort, which I find very tricky without GPS and difficult to get across before the ships are on you. By the way, a typo in your title. D.
I have always found that ignorance is a wonderful travelling companion - if you do not know qwhat is coming there is no reason to fear it - classic KTL mistake there - mis-spelling my own url

Concerning that area of disturbed water that you passed through early in the video, which slowed you a half knot -- did the bottom rise up there a bit and so accelerate the tide briefly? (Bernoulli effect?)
there is a ledge thereit suddently got deeper as I left the area of disturbed water so I am sure you are rightDPS Bernoulli is a drop in pressure as speed of a fluid increases - it is how a sail works I believe

it is an amazing place - I have never sailed anywhere that is as packed with boats as the Solent - I admire the people who are prepared to sail there
