Seeing the float rise up out of the water and then disappear got to be the best sight in fishing. All the best Den to you and yours in the NewYear and all the Subs around the world 👍
Hi Den, love fishing the slider, mastered it sea fishing off the coast of North Wales so it was a natural progression to simply adapt it for freshwater. Unfortunately not many local waters to use it, Happy New Year to you Say hello to Maurice and wish him a Happy New Year too.
Hi Den! I love slide fishing, or "with knot" as we call it here in Spain. 90% of the time it is the technique to use. In my case I mark the line at the distance at which I am fishing and when I get to it, I will open the pick up so that the leads go down and the float is better presented. All the best! Waiting for a new video!
Happy New Year Den! Bad luck with the snags…I wouldn’t have had your patience, I would have moved and taken my chances elsewhere! The Slider definitely worked…never tried it myself (most of my venues are fairly shallow), but I will in future. Keep up the good work in 2022!
Cousin and his wife in Queensland , in a residential home . He went over 1958!£10 Pom. Old neighbours , and old friends in Oz. Enjoy your fishing . Great entertainment and tuition.👏👍
Hi Den. That Series 7 Carp power Waggler is a truly brutal rod. I fish mine with 10lb mainline and 8lb hooklinks. Its done perfect for trotting for Wye barbel and for bullying Tench in lily beds. Drennan under-rate it as 8lb mainline and 7lb hooklinks.
It certainly does appear to be quite a powerful rod. I haven't used it much up until now, but I think I'll up the reel line breaking strain and go for it if I fish that swim again.
Hi Barbara. Happy New Year to you too. Unfortunately, that is the only accessible swim on the farmers land. About 40 metres up is a fence belonging to another farmer, and I don't have permission to fish up there. Still, I'm going back to have a crack at it with the pole. Who knows how that will turn out???? 😃😃👍
Nice tips sir, well how about when same distance where u casted ur float and dept would be more than 20 to 30 feet deeper, so how I can use set up. And what setup to be use to catch carp fish. Plz let me know sir
In the depth of water you mentioned, I think you would be better to use a feeder fishing approach rather than a float. I have lots of feeder fishing videos if you are not sure how to set the up. Here's the link to the Playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PL1-iJW0W-2_lFe9DiLrkGg7FsQRreWlEu.html
Hi Maik. Long time, no hear. Happy new Year to you too mate. As for Pole fishing, i will be doing a couple of videos using one sometime in the next few weeks.
Hi Den sir could u make some animation video on this slid float fishing function when it goes or falls under water and how does it alline inside such water dept (20 to30 feet),sir why I'm asking because here in India we don't use such type of technique but for me it is fascinating and I would love give it try ur method sir. And second don't u use snap swivel or any other types of swivel, hance this spinning reel may cause line twist. So how would u deel with it sir.
I'm afraid i don't know how to make an animation, so I can't help you with that, but I suggest you type the words Slider Fishing Setup into UA-cam. This will bring up many other videos which may be of help. With regard to your question on line twist, I have never encountered such a problem, even without swivels. The only possibility I can see for line twist would be if you bait was spinning on the retrieve. In that case, you could fit a small swivel a short distance from the hook.
@@FishingwithDen Thank you so much sir for ur kind reply to me. Well when u told me that slider fishing method from that time on I have been searching on UA-cam but ur given method is more easy nd convinion for deep water. I would definitely try it sir. Thanm you once again sir.
Hi Den. These days the pros seem to just swap out the 'to be used' float for a buoyant plumbing float. Ok if you ve got one. Is it still okay to put a plumbing weight on the hook whilst removing one of the bigger ssg cocking shots to plumb up? Do you make sure the slider float is fully loaded/cocked( with say grouped no8.s etc down the line) THEN remove a big ssg / add plummet weight to find depth? Not sure this makes sense ...sorry
Hi Mark. Yes, I am a bit confused. Have a look at this video which might help: ua-cam.com/video/Q59kMLv5QNY/v-deo.html In this video I used a plummet to plumb the depth, but it is quite an old video. Nowadays, I just add an SSG shot immediately above the hook.
I haven't used the Locslide variety mate, but I do use the Polaris versions sometimes. I have a couple of videos on float ledgering if you're interested.
@FishingwithDen Thanks for your quick reply. Yes I am interested in your float ledgering videos and will seek them out. I love all your videos and have learned a lot. Imaging this, I watch them whilst eating my breakfast in bed every morning and when my wife is watching a program on TV that I am not interested in, which is most programs. I use headphones, so I only distract her when I chuckle at some of the things that happen to you. I am hooked on your vids. Sorry for the pun. Barry

Hi Mark. Happy New Year mate. I wish we had some other European species over here mate, but where I live, it's all Carp fishing I'm afraid. I do sometimes catch sea fish like Mullet and Brim when I fish the rivers, but that's about it.
Thanks John. I didn't even put some of the problems I had with snags in mate. Otherwise, the video would have been double the length.😃👍 Happy new Year to you too mate.
I started with the bait on the bottom and then gradually brought the bait up to about 2-3 inches (50-75mm) off the bottom. After that I just responded to where I was getting the most bites. I think I was at least 2 feet (600mm) off the bottom a bit later and I would have come up much further if the fish kept rising to take the bait.
Happy New Year Alan. Unfortunately, that is the only accessible spot on this farmers land. About 40 metres up is a fence and I don't have permission to fish up there.
