Thank you so much for uploading this movie. It is a treasure to watch and stirs the heart to an even deeper level of love for our Lord Jesus Christ and a deeper vow in my heart to give up my life for Him.
Just to share.. From childhood up to my learning days. People always thought that my name is unique. As a chat support, I would always encounter people (from UK and Ireland) who would ask, is this your real name? Do you know who you were named after and I would say, "yes, a Lady who had reigned for 9 days and executed a year after." At times, I would hear chuckles (if I'm on voice queue) or a sad response on both queues. People here likes my name and the first time I encountered Lady Jane Grey as a young adult, I was amazed and saddened by this.
All that was her parents' fault. They were cruel and greedy, using their teen daughter whom they abused, as a pawn. Her father was also beheaded but the mother wasn't punished.
Anything relating to LJG interests me, and I enjoyed this short film, though I only wish that there were more of it. Side-note, but Jerica Henline has the most beautiful eyes!
Loved this!! If only her executioners knew….they were leading her to eternity in heaven with her Saviour!! They were helping her to go on to the place of “off the charts joy” & ever real life is!!! If that were happening to me right now….I’d be jumping up and down saying, “Are you kidding? Lets go!!! How fast can you get me there?!?” Send me home!!! Whoohoo! John 1:14 🗣🔥📖
The young girl in the library reading the story reminded me of myself. I remember going to the town library in the summers and reading the book The Tower of London which contained the story of young Jane Grey and seeing the two art depictions of her execution. It was very sad to hear that she could have saved her life if only she had converted to Catholicism but she refused. It is after all the same God and she could have converted back when Queen Mary passed. Very sad indeed.
To be fair, the Greys didn't do much to help themselves. Even when Jane was incarcerated in the Tower she continued to shower invective on the Catholic faith, most notably in a letter to a former tutor of hers - not a clever thing to do at all with Mary Tudor on the throne! The fatal error was when her father (whom Mary had already forgiven for his part in the plot to make Jane queen) became involved in an attempted coup in 1554. Mary had been lenient with the Grey family until then, but after this open display of treachery she had no choice other than to get rid of them for good - including Jane and her husband. Although Jane was coerced into becoming queen, she did at least accept the role by signing documents "Jane the Quene", and by doing things only the monarch could have done. For example, she blocked the Duke of Northumberland's attempts to grant Jane's husband (who just happened to be his own son, Guildford!) the title of King of England; she also ordered members of the privy council to be locked in the Tower to prevent them from defecting to Mary. In this sense she was legally culpable of treason, despite her age and the manner of her accession. It should also be remembered that Jane was as much of a religious bigot as Mary Tudor. We all know what Mary I of England did to protestants, and we can only speculate how a zealot like Lady Jane Grey would have treated her Catholic subjects had she kept the crown. She deserves much sympathy, but at the same time she most definitely was not the sweet, innocent child depicted in popular sources.
Beauutifully done. But Jane was executed for High Treason ( for usurping the crown- though against her will and through no fault of her own). Initially pardoned, her father was involved in another rebellion ( Wyatt? ) and Mary 1 could not really allow her to live. Still Mary ( who really did not want to have her executed at all) was looking for a way to avoid the advice of the Privy Council and suggested religious conversion. When the latter offer was deemed unacceptable to Jane, Mary had no choice but to accept the Privy Councils advice to have Jane executed. Can you imagine?? Chances are that Jane could have lived to be an old lady- if she had not been used as a pawn by her father in law and father.
When Reid Moon of Moons Rare books was asked who was the most bad ass person in Foxes book of martyrs was he proclaimed without pause Lady Jane Grey. What was interesting is you used the actual words she wrote her sister, but didn't write what she said to the man who came in. She denied the trinity, and the transubstantiation of the eucharist since it isn't biblical. She said "Jesus is a door" are we to walk through him too? For this she was martyred. Lady Jane Gray is my hero.
Great 'renaissance fair' American accent and I love the anachronistic sets, costumes & props. I thoroughly enjoyed this LARPing much better than those accurate but annoying English accents and actual historical stuff. Well done!
I understand this was an amateur production, but think you did a good job. One thing I would suggest is to read an original eye witness account, and base the execution scene on that not a previous film. Her actual words on her execution were far more moving, and showed her Christian faith far more strongly than just the last portion of her speech. Jane admitted her guilt of illegally taking the throne.

@@CrackedCandy Not mine - I prefer Elizabeth’s attitude- there one Christ, Jesus, one faith. All the rest is a dispute over trifles. I seriously doubt it matters to God if you believe there is a true presence in Holy Communion or it is simply symbolic. I think He would have been far more disturbed at His children killing each other over how He is worshipped.
Your effort in making this short video is appreciated. All of these matyrs have a better resurrection when our LORD & SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST returns from heaven. The rc church hands are filled with the blood of the saints. But, how did the rc church get this awful idea of killing those who professed CHRIST alone as their SAVIOR & LORD & their faith on the Word of GOD? That itself exposes the rc church as false.
Thank you, Jerica, for this fine film. Once again, we see how England brutalized its own; and how the descendents of Henry Tudor, Earl of Richmond, murdereer of Richard III, and of two adolescent boys, and usurper to the throne preferred dictatorial bloodshed to servant leadership.
Wooh! Quite a few bold claims there. Jane had usurped the throne. At least Jane got a trial, and was not executed for months. It was only her father’s stupidity and treason that led to Jane’s execution. There is strong evidence the precious Richard had a man dragged from a council meeting and summarily beheaded with no trial. Further there is no clear evidence what happened to the Princes in the Tower. They disappeared on Richard’s watch, not Henry VII’s.
She wasn't a martyr...she was led by the people around her if she'd known the consequences of her actions I'm sure she would have been a very reluctant one..she never thought it through...
I think she was tragic, but she did usurp the throne. However the evidence does suggest she did so reluctantly. Mary recognised her father-in-law was mostly to blame, which is why she initially spared Jane, and her husband Guildford. It was the treason and stupidity of Jane’s father, Suffolk, that led to her execution.
You need to study some history! I wrote a little about Lady Jane in a book called The 500 year old Prophecy of Henry VIII She left behind some writings…. She knew and believed the Scriptures. Read what she wrote to John Feckenham in 1554, who was sent by Mary to convert her to the wicked Papacy.
Everyone's gotta start somewhere. If u can't say anything nice, then u can shut the hell up. Its a good place to start making movies. Give the kid a break.
And think, this whole short film was done by the girl at the beginning when she was just 16 years old and a year later her and her brother made "Polycarp" which won several awards including garry nation's award for best actor at the christian film festival. So how many awards did you have under your belt at 17?

Exactly what I was looking for, a faithful perspective on her story. Thank you.
Nice effort. Don't give up. All movie makers started somewhere & u picked a great topic to start on. Good work, don't give up.

Just beautiful, excellent job! Thank you.
Absolutely loved it. We'll done to everyone involved. Eloquent portrayal of the desperately sad final days of Queen Jane.
All that was her parents' fault. They were cruel and greedy, using their teen daughter whom they abused, as a pawn. Her father was also beheaded but the mother wasn't punished.

Well done how awful that time had been in that era to lose your life at that young age

It's true that she was manipulated by older men, namely Northumberland. However, she was herself of fervent Protestant belief.
