Good video tim, forks first is a bad habit a ton of guys do. Along with bulldozing pallets guys will push 2 pallets of milk while having another raised up. And they not only do it in the aisle with selectors in it, but also the 3/4 the length of the dock too.
Hi. First of all congratulations because you always look for security and not only for yourself but also for that of your co-workers. I have the same cutter 🙌🏼 and I do the same thing when I have to do that job, skills, speed, cleanliness, etc. It's complicated because if a woman does her job "better" than her coworkers, then they demote her instead of teaching or improving what's wrong with the other workers, because I understand really well about what you are refering in the video. Anyway, I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one doing the job as it should be done. Cheers to you. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Sideways is definitely a different strategy. I always like the to put the pallet against the mast but you probably can't do that. I would ask an expirenced operator
Not sure if I’ve commented before but have enjoyed your assembly videos even if haven’t done that in a yr and wish would be never again..but looking likely at my warehouse since are so slow Also glad to see this on forks, we use mainly Crown forklifts and hard to recall our old double click method on old forklifts..anyway like how ya put pallet down, get pick one out and then cut wrap..but don’t agree with the pivoting being ok even if we do it also, just not safe..but unsafe drivers aren’t enforced so others do same pivoting as well..our warehouse is a mess and that’s even with guys taking wrap, but leaving “cardboard “ on empty pallet locations everywhere..so annoying to me
@@TheWarehouseSeries not meaning you per se but the concept of pivoting isn’t a safe practice. I’m a forklift trainer and teach properly. Was shown a video of guy doing it all properly and then pivoted ahead of time. Barely any difference so if you can line up quickly, like experienced can, then why not do it all the time?
@@TheWarehouseSeries not trying to say you’re unsafe Tim. It’s more the culture with bad drivers pivoting, rushing forks in/out in racking. Have at least 1 guy who breaks front pallet constantly since he moves forks out too fast and pivots. You did things exactly how they should be done and can tell you’re experienced.
What about the cut wrap? Do you guys have a sanitation guy coming behind you? The reason I say this is because we were required to drop at end of aisle.
We are supposed to cut wrap , bands , remove cardboard corners and slipsheets leaving them to the side neatly for sanitation to pick up. I would say 70% of lifts do this. The other 30% suck. Nothing but being lazy.

Thanks coach
My warehouse has the pallets sideways.. got any tips for that?

What are you referring to by pivoting being unsafe? Forklift or me

@@Ritzls6802 was there anything you noticed me doing wrong? Been driving forklifts for 2 decades. I always like to think I'm one of the safest

I drive one for about a year. Just wasn't me
You will never make production at my warehouse moving like that
It's a training video
Good point about getting cut
Yup, people definitely don't think of that

More yes
It's not against the rules if no one sees you
