Weigh food and use an app such as myfitnesspal or mynetdiary. Although, I suspect metformin works in people whose A1C is in a non pre-diabetic range, which probably isn't most people in India watching this given the epidemiology stats. Lot of 'western' bodybuilders use it because it prevents fat storage. Definitely the safest diabetes drug out there and the one with the most manageable side effects. Reduce A1C and cardiovascular risk factors in the process while helping to build muscle and getting crazy pumps

there's a vast difference between a doctor, nutritionist, dietitian, physician etc. doctors study Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry,neurology etc etc... which means mainly the Human body! they study very limited about nutrition, diet & medicine! ask about the chemical composition of a medicine to both doctor & a chemist or pharmacist ... most doctors won't be able to tell you perfectly but the other one will! whereas if you need any information on human body, hoe it works & all that stuff a doctor is perfect on that.

Dear friends, I am a doctor. I am not trying to defend anyone, just a doctor's point of view. A doctor has experience in sick patients, with no experience in dealing with healthy people, he will be extra cautious while advising you. Whey protein is just protein, necessary in adequate amounts but too much can damage kidneys. That is his fear, because he must have dealt with patients who got side effects and so is scared. I have high blood pressure, spoke to a cardiologist friend who had seen some patients who collapsed during heavy work out. Guess what he advised me? Yes, you got it. He told me to stay away from heavy weights. There is no chapter in our books about sports nutrition. The bottom line is, don't go to a doctor for nutrition advise if you are not sick
well, i consulted A dietician at Aiims, he ask me to avoid protein powder. I didn't settle down their, went back again to Another doctor, he said no too, this didn't ends here, i consulted 7 more doctors, all said no. I think they were right, thanks, i didn't listen to my trainner for using gainer or whey protein... I have increased my strength to lift and that's in just a month, that's all what I just need and yes i am gaining some size with strength to... Going all the way normal is good.

I just saw your video and I'm glad that you shared your opinion and your experience with all of us. just one thing I wanted to point out to you , the doctor you were happily making fun of , did you had any background check on him. he might be suffering from thyroid issue and hence he is fat. it is easy to judge a person we just met and have an opinion of him. not everyone are lucky to have a perfect condition or for that matter an environment to train them selves , follow a routine and keep check on their physical well being.
Hi Tarun Sir, I am a Doctor and big fan of yours. Glad to know your perspective on this subject. I have a female friend of mine who binge drinks every night and smokes atleast a pack of cigarettes. She is currently on some Alternate/7 day diet (a bootload of crap btw prescribed by her so Dietician friend) in which one has to eat fruits on one day and veggies on the other. I really feel bad for her because her day starts with this and ends up in junk, with one goal, mere cousin ki shaadi ko patla hona hai, photos mein acche dikhna hai. I have seen innumerable friends of mine toiling on the treadmill and doing crunches for fat loss. BUT the sad truth is when I asked her issse kya hoga...she says pata hai, mujhe mat sikha, maine kiya hai fat loss....(I wondered!!! because she is still obese). Man I was sad to see the rebound in her case. All today's generation wants to hear is - Fat Burners, Whey Protein, Diets and what not...some of them end up blaming the doctors for their weight gain. There is no shortcut to getting cut. Its a lifestyle. And it doesn't matter if genuine people like us give advice. Nobody thinks of sustaining and all they want is quick fixes. My query is what do you think about the food we eat these days regularly especially vegetables and flours and pulses. I heavily believe that they are not good these days they are GMO. Doctors in general don't practice 'fitness' as you might define it, which is bad for people since resistance training, especially in insulin resistant Indian people (lot of those) is best served by building muscle mass. Whey protein is useful but shouldn't be a substitute for solid protein sources. Protein shakes tend to be more insulogenic than eating a solid source of protein. That's why it's generally best to take post workout, although even that is not a hard and fast rule.

Hi Tarun Sir, I am following Gurumann's muscular 8 and having good results and lost 11 kg in last 1.5 months but I need to loose more and want to get my body fat percentage lower then 12%, how to achieve without fail. There is no time limitations for me. yes but not should be as delay as 2-3 years. I want to go natural and and don't want to take anything else then whey protein. As my brother have 6 packs and good physique and he don't even take whey protein. I too had 4 in past but i was inactive for last 3.5 years and gain 34 kg fat. now how to again reach that position

And even i have encountered situations like these with trainers and dieticians they just try earn money, and dont actually care abt our health or eating habits..
being a doctor, I understand what u r saying but understand that doctors dietician r specifically trained to deal with medical conditions. dietician r trained to check d diet of patient suffering from medical condition. for example u must be knowing a lot of nutrition n diet n bodybuilding, so it doesn't mean u know wht should a cancer patient should eat or a patient with kidney stone, wht exercises should a person who is just recovered from leg fracture. in a same way a cricket player who know batting can't be a bowling coach.

The reason i write is because of other point you mention of doctors being fat and smokers. Sir with all respect to you if only you wud understand trials and tribulations of becoming a doctor and the stress involved you wud also understand why doctors end up not following their own advice. I say this inspite of myself being quite fit (i do follow my own advice) if i say so myself with i being able to bench press abt 215lbs fr 8 reps among other things. I am a doctor too and i consume whey proteins BCAAs and some pre workouts too, A lott of my patients ask me about whey and I never stop them from consuming whey I just recommend them to consume adequate amount of water per day that's it. This was to say that all the doctors aren't like the one you met. Coming on to smoking and alcohol then it's ones personal habits and you can't defame all the medico community by portraying such image of doctors. According to me the number of medicos I know most of them are fit in ratio to most of the population.🙂
sir once I concerned dietitian when I was on fat loss goal he told me don't take whey protein cause its convert into fat so u loose weight but not fat how's dat sir?

sir ive got huge thighs and i do cycling for 11_15km, people are send to me that if you keep doing cycling you will not gain your height I am 17 years old and I want to grow .
Buudy you cant target one area for removing that deposited fat. You will have to work on overall body fat percentage. Dont just stick to cycling. Do squats, lunges, leg extensions, presses,work on glutes, hamstring.
my friend the big question is why you need to weight loss if you have no problem with current situetion of your body and why we go to weight gain supliement if we have no problum.the problum is you chose the weight loss "not the felling healthy and fit from any source like fitness trainer like diatesion etc.follow your body language and then follow anybody that will be helpfull lol.
You should have gone to sport medicine specialist... Stop blaming a MD medicine for being cautious... We deal with patients who have no sense of how and when to take whey protein.. Usually they come with complaints of liver dysfunction or steroid abuse

I am a doctor too and i consume whey proteins BCAAs and some pre workouts too,
A lott of my patients ask me about whey and I never stop them from consuming whey I just recommend them to consume adequate amount of water per day that's it.
This was to say that all the doctors aren't like the one you met.
Coming on to smoking and alcohol then it's ones personal habits and you can't defame all the medico community by portraying such image of doctors.
According to me the number of medicos I know most of them are fit in ratio to most of the population.🙂
sir once I concerned dietitian when I was on fat loss goal he told me don't take whey protein cause its convert into fat so u loose weight but not fat how's dat sir?
same thing happened with me, met a doctor who told me not to take whey powder as it contains steroids, but then he suggested me Dexa for weight gain.....

Buudy you cant target one area for removing that deposited fat. You will have to work on overall body fat percentage. Dont just stick to cycling. Do squats, lunges, leg extensions, presses,work on glutes, hamstring.

You should have gone to sport medicine specialist... Stop blaming a MD medicine for being cautious... We deal with patients who have no sense of how and when to take whey protein.. Usually they come with complaints of liver dysfunction or steroid abuse
