The reason Filipino rice isn't seasoned with salt or anything is because Filipino dishes have a strong taste, usually salty. So, to balance it out, you need to eat rice. 🍚 ❤
Filipinos eat primarily with a spoon and fork. The spoon is better for scooping up the rice haha. Also Danya is very charismatic. A fast way for him to learn English is just by watching English language TV and movies. Andrey's channel is very popular because he speaks English very well. If Danya can match him you will have many more subscribers.
afritada yum. the purpose of rice in 🇵🇭 cuisine is to balance the taste of the viand, could be salty, sour, sweet, spicy or pungent. Filipinos always eat viands with rice, rice is life ❤
Among all Russian vlogs that I've watched, your afritada is the closest to the real Filipino afritada, saucy but not soupy. Others just dump the ingredients with disregard to proportions. Some put a lot of soy sauce then add a little catsup which should not be the case. Afritada is tomato sauce-based dish, not catsup. So tomato paste is fine. The other thing i've moticed is that.vegetables are sliced into small bits. In the Philippines, we like our veggies a bit bigger so that they dont get mushy when cooked. Yours is quite biig, but can be bigger. Good job!
Thank you so much for telling me in such detail, it was very informative to read. I cook with love and thoughts about the Philippines, maybe that's why it turns out well😄❤️
Now that you have cooked Afritada, then you now have a good base for using other meats and then trying other Filipino-Spanish tomato based stews. So the base is - onions, garlic, tomatoes, broth, potatoes, carrots and bell peppers. Now, you can make these other dishes: Use chicken, then it becomes Chicken Afritada Use pork and cut in half inch cubes then you can do Pork Menudo Use beef and cut about one inch cubes then you can do Beef Kaldereta Use beef with some fats and cut about one inch cube and marinate with soy sauce and some lemon then stew with tomatoes, broth, bell peppers and you can do Beef Mechado All these Filipino tomato based stews we got from Spaniards during the Spanish colony of the Philippines. By the way, these stews will improve in taste and will be more delicious days after you cook it. The taste will be richer and more intensified. Great job on this one!
Thank you so much for telling me everything in such detail. I will continue to cook, I love meat dishes, and so does my family. Yes, I read it, and I was told that some of the dishes are of Spanish origin. I am very pleased that you follow me and write such detailed comments, I really appreciate it. God bless you❤
I’m new to ur channel. I really like how you eat as a family. It’s quite rare to see a family that still eats together. More blessings and God bless to you and to your household
I am glad to welcome you, dear friend. Thank you very much, yes, I try to get everyone together at least at dinner, it brings us closer. God bless you!
Now, that is a world-class chicken afritada. So delicious! One of my favorite Filipino dishes. Whenever I eat that I remember beef goulash, it has a similar taste, especially if you add paprika.
Hope you and your family could have the chance to visit. Philippines. The kids would really enjoy our country.. Love to sed your family eating Filipino chicken afritada.
OMG, you made a yummy afritadang manok. I'm getting hungry while watching. The way you organize and cook your food is clean. The content of your vlog is variety by taking us to different place especially in your parents garden and of course cooking Filipino foods which I liked watching. Love from far away Canada!🇵🇭❤️🇷🇺

I am impressed you gave the recipe as much respect you could give! - Cut the potatoes and carrots to around one-inch cuts. - The bell pepper is best added after the onions and garlic so that their flavor will be in the oil - Cook the rice inside the pot with water. I see a lot of suggestions saying you should get Andrey to teach you, and I agree; he's mastered cooking plain white rice the Asian way! - Cooking afritada with fish sauce and a little soy sauce will give it some extra umami flavor. You need all that umami because Filipinos don't salt rice. - Topping food with herbs is something we don't do in Filipino cooking. I also noticed Danya seems to like to take his time with his dinner... I'm curious: is he always like this? Did the boys like dinner?
Thanks for your advice, I'll take that into account next time.👍 The boys liked it very much, Danya ate the meat quickly, but he always takes a long time with vegetables😁
that chicken afritada looks delicious , im now craving dishes with tomato sauce, its also nice you use rice flour instead of wheat flour on those pancakes which is healthier, and i notice you cook healthier like using vegetable oil , and you can cook rice in water ,
I brown the chicken more on all sides. Remove them. Saute garlic, onions, fresh tomatoes (i use tomato sauce) chicken, potatoes, no carrots but you can add if you like. Add patis, black pepper, a bit of water, simmer on low heat covered until chicken is cooked, add red pepper and peas..i cut the potatoes bigger.
Hello Nastas! Your Afritada looks great! A little suggestion to tweak - add vegetables when chicken (orwhatever meat) is nearly/already tender so they dont get too soft. If you want them super soft, then, your process is ok. Also, when you come to the PH, or if you could order online, please buy a rice cooker 😊 Keep up the great work! 🤗
Natasya dear, when cooking rice you don't need to put it on strainer. You can just boil it water 1:1 ratio. But over-all you did a great job with Chicken Afritada. I love your channel vlog.
Try adding a couple of tablespoon of fish sauce to add saltiness and umami flavour. I would also cut the potatoes and carrots a bit bigger so that when you fry them, the taste of browning is more pronounced. You can also put a tablespoon of sugar to counteract the sourness of the tomato paste. Great cooking and very nice colour!
@@Nastasya_Life Or buy a rice cooker. It''s very easy to cook rice the right way even when you don't have a rice cooker though. Check here on UA-cam how Filipinos cook it.

As a Filipino, I'm very intrigued with how you cook rice. Maybe you can show us the process next time. We cook rice differently here.
It was an experiment, not very successful😂, sometimes I just soak rice overnight and eat it, so it retains its useful properties

Hello🇵🇭❤️🇨🇦Thanks for watching
We usually sprinkle the afritada with little amount of powdered or ground black pepper, but others do not like black pepper
