I think injected engines were banned for years, even in the 2000's there was still Capris and Granadas being raced. I guess they changed the rules, or somehow do a bodged conversion to carbs before racing.
You need some mechanical skills. Welding. Cars need a roll cage. Side bars. Some kind of race transporter. Plenty of UK races all over. But even this kind of racing isn't cheap. Expect a few £k and the ability to read and carry out required modifications. And a strong neck and back. I gave a car away for banger racing. The man who took it had his own 5 tonne transporter, was a qualified hgv engineer and was on £40k a year.
This is much better than the American ones. The cars are so funny, Mercedes, BMW wagon, was there a Jag in there? Of course the Previa. Ford Ka times 25...
