Actually none. It is not allowed to use motorcycle engines in these. Most of them use VW 1,6 liter inline 4 or the Fiat Twincam 1,6 liter because the displacement is limited to that if you use other than original motor in rear engine jokkis cars. But many of them have over 200hp at the crank and they weigh only 710kg so the power to weight ratio is crazy. Many of them do wheelies of the line even with narrow street tyres.
@@Teemu_1366 yes! that's the one my father drove. the front was the same but it was a limosine and had a "rear wing" out of rubber. it wasn't really a wing, nor a spoiler... just for aesthetics 🙃 he bought it like that from a petrol station in the 90s
Finland. It is kalled the "jokamies luokka" "Every man race" And the point is to keep the cars cheap so "everyone" can afford to tune a shitbox with a roll cage and safety fuel Tank. And at the end of the race one can buy any of the cars with a fixed price.
Fiat 850 was relatively popular car here in Finland in it's days as well as fiat 133 ( and 127 too but that is not competitive due front engine). Main reason for popularity was that it was sold by company named “Hankkija” which was also one of the largest retailers for agricultural machines in Finland. So you could buy tractor and car from the same place, and many farmers did that. And when the car was older or there was some bigger or smaller issue they just pushed it in to the barn to wait something.. also scrapping the car cost some money back in the days. So those old barn finds race now on racing tracks :)
Fiats in general were popular cars in Finland. Cars were cheap, spare parts were cheap and constructions were DIY friendly. I owned eight Fiats in a row... my father-in-law was a car mechanic at Hankkija and he knew these buggers inside out.
Well, Wreckfest is based on this sport. Its very popular in Finland (The origin of Jokkis) and Sweden, Norway and Denmark. A couple of tracks in Wreckfest are based on real tracks here in Scandinavia aswell. Aaremark is a good example!
What is this sport called? Can't be stock car, they aren't stock at all right? Rebuilt rear-axles and rear axle put more forward on some vehicles. I'd like to read the regulations of this sport! Love it
It's called jokamiesluokka (aka jokkis), in the 70's an 80's those cars were really close to a stock car, just roll cages inside and maybe some small tinkering with the engine side. But as usual in motorsport, things got a "little bit" out of hands and novadays top cars are closer to a rallycross cars. These cars Needs to be sell after the race if somebody wants to buy it with 2000euros. Despide that top cars are valued worth of 10000euros, urge to win big events is so strong (and some races have really good prizes for the winner).

But idk this looks more like Rallycross. No one really is trying to hit eachother. They all built just to finish first.
debatable
Wreckfest has rallycross lmao

I’ve never seen rear-engined Fiat 850s and 126s race before. They are hilarious! Thanks!
…and cute at the same time
Quite a few of these are 133s, too. Which were never seen in Italy or other markets, basically a bigger 126, there were a few in Finland.
95% these Fiat's are 133. I don't see any 126. 133 is very famous "jokkis" race car in Finland. Has been last 30 years.
@@Teemu_1366 Thanks. My old brain is stuck in the Italy of the ‘70s…

3:50 nice wheely
Small fiat with 1600 cc fiat or vw golf/passat engine on the back. 175 horsepower or so. So they do wheely very easily.

Wonder if any of these chassis were salvagable, cant imagine theyre a common car
So are you allowed to wreck your opponents during these things? Or is it just something that's kind of expected but not encouraged, like in Nascar?
It's not allowed but it just happens all the time :)

Rules don't allow that, there needs to be four wheels :)
Arent some of those cars our Polish Fiats 126p? Off course they have swapped engines judging by their sound and performance ;)
Those are mainly Fiat 133 and 850, and definitely not with their own engines :) There's been also some 126's but not many.

Those 133 Seats were re-badged as Fiats to Finland markets because Fiat was better brand here back then.
