Hi there ash, honestly mate really enjoying your rebuild, it's nice to see you just doing so much at a time and basically explaining it all as we go on the journey with you, i enjoy watching loads of car builds obviously like mat Armstrong but they are 100 miles a hour and to many builds, obviously only my opinion but keep it up and so glad I found you from 1st post 🎉
Hey Kevin... Mat who?? 🤣 only kidding... Thanks mate, I'm not planning on changing the way I make the videos so they'll be plenty more for you to enjoy
@jameswhelan83 basically every bolt, nut, screw goes into a bag labelled with where it came from and I record everthing I do. To be honest, the UA-cam videos help massively, bare in mind that for every 20 minutes you guys see on here is made from about 8 hours of footage, none of which I've ever deleted 🤣
Nice one Ash after the frame is painted you need to talk nicely to your other half so you can build it up in the living room hee hee, you're doing great so far mate look forward to the next part.
Good afternoon ash I love you and watching your videos of you stripping down your motor bike for a new paint I hope you and Katie are all well and enjoying doing your motor bike project please keep up the good work up on your videos on your you tube channel please keep safe and warm
Hi Ash. I’ve re-built a lot of bikes over the past 40 odd years (8 years since the last) these video bring back lots of happy memories & frustrating at time but there is no better feeling when they start after the rebuild & again when it back on the road. Your a natural with the camera. Keep up the good work matey
Really enjoyed that buddy I'm rooting for you now Just to make things handy open the top cap on the forks while there still in the triple clamps they can be tight
I have good memories of my "jeep 9" Bought mine damaged so stripped it down a bit gave it a good service fitted a laser 4 into 1 exhaust and she was a quick bike .. good engine in these bikes 👍👍 Kind regards from Turkey 👍
I am very surprised that you managed to get everything apart Ash, well done. The thin rubber hose that is connected to the coolant filler goes to the overflow tank on the right side of the bike under the side panel, and the last 2 clips you removed off the frame are for the 2 breather pipes that are connected to the carbs. 👍
I doff my cap to you Ash, working outside in the Welsh weather, often with one hand for the sake of the video! I too have an 85 GPz900 stripped down to the frame awaiting the engine to be rebuilt, but at least I am doing it in a workshop with a decent lift. I do have a feeling that I will likely need to your videos for reference during the reassembly so thank you in advance.
There's a lot more footage than you guys get to see... if you ever need a bit more detail just ask. I'm not gonna lie, my back aches for the 2 days after working on the bike 🤣
I literally spent the whole of yesterday cleaning the swing arm and related components, I'm hoping they're the worst parts, what with being by the chain and everything
Making videos is handy for when your putting it back together Wiring and cable routes is the biggest pain when you have a freshly painted frame and no wear marks to guide you
Good work, and great fun - have enjoyed watching thus far ... looking forward to the best bit, which is of course the rebuild
Me too! Waiting on parts at the minute
I look forward to seeing it. Good luck. I sprayed & tuned a FZR1000 & lots of other stuff for my friend year ago. A great bike & lots of fun
Thanks buddy, hoping to get it running soon
Absolutely brilliant video thank you.
Cheers buddy... let the rebuild begin!

Going to look so good. You should repaint it in the red and black colours
What about Hot Pink? 🤣

When you said you were tearing it down to the frame, you weren’t kidding!
Great job!👍👍
Yep, literally isn't another bolt I could undo 🤣
@@AshRowland how you keep track of it all

Haha, I was thinking of building it in the cellar, but getting it out would require a lot of digging 🤣

Thank you 😃 there's a lot more to come 😃

Thank you very much mate, I'm glad you're enjoying them. Hoping to get the FZR started this week
Really enjoyed that buddy I'm rooting for you now

Ok cool, thanks for the tip 😃

Hi from Wales! My exhaust is pretty bad, I'm wondering if there's an exhaust refurbish company out there

Ah cool, thanks, I'm relying on comments like this to help me rebuild it, along with watching all my videos backwards 🤣

Nice one Ash, here comes the fun! Parts washing! Whoop whoop. 😂
I literally spent the whole of yesterday cleaning the swing arm and related components, I'm hoping they're the worst parts, what with being by the chain and everything
Looking forward to the rebuild great content 👍
Thanks mate!
Superb work Ash, not just on the bike but the video as well.
I think I'm as excited about the project as you are.
Keep it up fella
Thanks buddy... You're more than welcome to come and help me de-grease most of the parts now 🤣
Nice work Ash!
Thank you! Cheers!

Very good point, there's obviously a lot more footage than gets uploaded, you guys would get very bored watching me for 8 hours at a time 🤣
Seem to remember someone fitting a rear wheel and swing arm from a zzr1100 ... Going back a bit now..
Yea, sounds about right, I'm planning on keeping this as stock as I can though
I think the saying is, everything is a hammer unless it's a screwdriver then it's a chisel
Screw driver makes a useful hammer to tap float bowls if a float is stuck!
🤣
I wish the later GPX750 had such an easy frame to get the engine out of...
I know right! 4 bolts, that's it!
gr8 video well done real world. Is it possible to watch all your videos backwards? would be interesting if you could.
I'm actually having to watch them backwards to remember how to put it back together 🤣
Well done mate, now the real work starts :) Frame didnt look too bad, any holes or cracks?
Nope, all good... 1980s welding has something to be desired though lol
Probably missed the early videos but do you plan to rebuild the bike?
Flip me what a stupid question 😒
Yep, all the way ... have a look at my channel and you'll all the videos of the teardown, including the running engine 😃
I do hope you labeled most the parts and took photos 📸 😅
He’s actually videoing it, you’re watching it
🤣
Of course, well, most of them 🤣
