My Lumi has just arrived and oh my word I totally love it. This is my first e-ink notebook and while I understand the writing experience may not be quite as good as the reMarkable 2, I’m really thinking it is plenty good enough for me. I use it mainly for reading and annotating documents and a bit of note writing. I am considering cancelling my reMarkable 2 order. I didn’t think I would use the frontlight but actually it’s nice to turn it on a little bit just to make the page a bit brighter/whiter. I know reMarkable has no frontlight so I’m not sure I’m going to like the darkness/greyness of the page now. I am not sure! But thank you Voja because your reviews have helped me know what I’m getting into before making a purchase - once we’ve taken the cellophane off the box there is no going back so it’s good to see all the hardware and software functionality in such detail. Thank you.
I am very much looking forward to your review of the Note Air. While Max Lumi specs describe the screen as "E ink flexible screen with PMMA flat cover-lens", Note Air has "E ink HD Carta screen with AG glass flat cover-lens". I'm very curious about how the writing experience will differ between the two. I currently have a Samsung tablet and writing on glass annoys me to no end. I wonder if I should try a screen protector for the Samsung or get the Note Air.

This would eliminate the harsh contrast between the frame and the screen mentioned in Voja’s review. AND PLEASE MAKE IT EASY TO INSTALL. Second, how about a clamshell folio with the lid holding the Max Lumi and the base holding a BT keyboard? True this would double the weight of the stuff one has to carry around, but you would essentially be getting an e-ink laptop with the acceptable limitations of the most excellent Max Lumi.
I'm wondering if they switch to black so that the light source doesn't bleed through. The light source has to very bright to illuminate the entire 13.3” screen. It like when your phone screen turns on in your khaki pants. I agree with Voja that having such contrasting borders does break the appearance of the device.
Hell of a review. As an academic trafficking primarily in large PDF documents, you've convinced me that the Max Lumi is likely going to be my One Device. It'll allow me to teach better via zoom, type monographs without eyestrain, take notes at the same time that I read, and mimick paper pretty ok too. I'll keep the Remarkable 2 coming, but it's highly likely that I'll return it after testing. Thanks for your work!
A “Super Duper “ review. You are right to point out needs and wants are important at the plus$1k price point. I’ll be looking at either the Nova2 or Note Air due to price and needs. I would stick with remarkable if it did Kindle books.
I love my Max Lumi but I completely agree with you regarding the pen. I hope Onyx will hear you loud and clear and will do something about it for their customers. Here’s a funny thing: I remember in one of your videos for the Max 3 (I think), you had mentioned how for the price of the product, they should include a stand, even if it’s a cheap one, to “complete the package” since it is a big device...this came to mind when I saw the free stand they did include with the free case. I thought they must have heard you...lol.
Thanks Voja! You need to create your own device. I am sure, It will be great. I am thinking about cancelling my Order bei Remarkable and ordering the Note Air.
Voya, if price wasn‘t an issue, would you prefer Max 3 to Lumi? That‘s a question you did not address, I think. And if you preferred Max 3 to Lumi, would you still prefer Note Air to Max 3? If you had to decide for only one device. Your reviews are great and I‘ve learnt a lot from them. Thumbs up
I completely agree with you, honestly I think that infinite canvas alone is a more important feature than all the others in terms of productivity, it is useful for mind mapping and allows you to write and think more freely. I'm tempted to switch to payr for this reason alone. however it is possible to send a suggestion of requests in the onyx forum, there is already a post started in general discussion, maybe if others support the request onyx will decide to implement it.
@@alessioriccardi9816 Yeah I was thinking for the same reason of allowing thoughts to flow more freely. I don't know if I would want it all the time but the option I thought would be possible since the device is so versatile.
I apologize if this has already been asked, but is it possible to wirelessly print documents, drawings etc., with the Max Lumi or presumably with the Note Air? I have both a WiFi printer and a bluetooth printer.
The answer is YES. I am successfully using the Brother print app from Google Play for WiFi printing. Ironic I know, using a paper replacement device to make a paper hardcopy.
Just a heads up: At least in Europe, Onyx has replaced the standard cheap stylus with the triangular version, which doesnt flex and is quite comfortable
Remarkable and Onyx should merge or release some sort of collaboration. I already cancelled my RM2 order and I am looking forward to your Note Air review
Outstanding review series. Finally got to see all parts. Thank you so much for your time, patience and dedication to such reviews. Looking forward to the 3 party review. Keep them coming. :)
Thanks for all the wonderful work you've done on these - much appreciated. I'm a writer, so am considering it as a laptop-replacement-lite. I'd love to know how well it works with Google Drive/Docs/Sheets and a bluetooth keyboard. My usual working setup would be using split screen mode in landscape with Google 'tabs' (are these possible in a similar way I'd get on my laptop?) for several Google Docs/Sheets on one side and an internet browser with several tabs (thesaurus, dictionary, wikipedia, google search, etc) on the other. It's only really text I need, so I'm not worried about any video or image issues. Also, in terms of hardware, I'm interested in whether there any keyboards/cases that might make it possible to do this without a tabletop, so on a lap for example. If your apps review could give an idea of whether some of that might fit together, that would be amazingly helpful!
I cannot imagine that you as a musician skipped the part in reading music on this device, but I cannot find it in the video's, the manufacturerer does not mention this it as well. But I found info that says this device is suitable in reading music as well and for using an pedal to skip pages.
Can you pinch PDF's on the Max Lumi ? In other words make the text even larger, or if need be, reduce the size using the pinch gesture with your fingers ? I haven't been able to do that on mine. I know you can tap the bottom of the page to bring up a menu, then fine the zoom and + or - and accomplish that. I may have missed it in your review. Please let me know. Thank you. UPDATE : I found that if I use Google Drive app, I can access all my important PDF's AND it does support the pinch gesture. However, I transferred from my computer some important PDF's, and for some reason NEO Reader does not support the pinch gestures. Very strange since NEO reader supports gestures on my Note 2 running Android 9.
@@MyDeepGuide Thank you very much ! That did it, and took all of 15 seconds. I was in the settings last night, and for some reason I missed it. I call it a senior moment ! I need the large screen, and zoom at times because my vision isn't what it used to be. This was a big help.
Trello, Word, Squid, Onenote & MindMeister.. I'd love to use this as a secondary display for reading emails, word, documents, reading news and coding...
Hi Voja, many thx for these great deep reviews! Very much impressed. Bit I am still bothered by some questions, that seem so basic but I can't find an answer to these. Like: how do to export an annotated pdf from (after importing from) Dropbox back (annotated) to dropbox? Or, How do you export the pdf with an attached note to (for instance) dropbox? Can you attach a note to a specific part of the pdf (so it will stick to f.,i. a paragraph) and export these combined? Perhaps you have some links to the answers but I am at loss right now. These functionalities are key for my work and workflow.
Many thanks for the thorough and really useful review vids! Regarding apps (your upcoming vid), I'd like to know how a PDF-reference management app such as Mendeley works on the Lumi. Academics don't just store PDF articles in folders they create on device/in cloud; they store them in and read them from a referencing program such as Mendeley (or Zotero or Endnote). Does the Lumi allow stylus markup of a PDF via the Mendeley app? If not, can PDFs easily be exported from Mendeley onto the Lumi for markup and then imported back into Mendeley? Also, what is handwriting input like in note-taking apps such as Evernote and Onenote? Is it possible to make handwritten on a Kindle book? Thanks if possible!
I have never used these systems, so it would mean that it have to familiarize myself with a completely new platform and learn it. This is beyond the scope of a normal review, so, unfortunately, no, I won't be doing that. As for note-taking on Kindle app, I don't think that app has that functionality? Also I don't use either OneNote or Evernote, but I will try to simply glance over them.
@@MyDeepGuide If I read this, maybe in future you will make a video about your complete workflow. It's always nice to learn something new or compare it with my own. I know it only a little because of reading here much and also seeing lots of your videos.
Voja, great review. I’m still NWS to this e-ink arena, I’ve ordered the Boox Note Air. Based on your lumi review and the fact that the Air is nearly speced in a 10.3 format, I’m excited. Could you please provide a link to where you purchased your Lamy? Want to ensure I get an official one. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the review. With the information I have now I've decided I'm going to buy a max lumi instead of a white max 3 even though I agree with you that the light border is better.
I made the same choice for the same reasons. It’s actually nice being able to brighten the screen a bit and the black border isn’t bothering me as much as I thought it might.
Thanks a lot for this 5 great videos about the Max Lumi, Voja . I also watched your video about the Pocketbook inkpad X. As you said, the Pocketbook X gives a great reading experience because it has a big screen and a great frontlights. I want a bigger screen for reading epubs, is the quality of the screen of the Max Lumi as good as the quality of the screen of the Pocketbook X ? Is it as sharp, even with the frontlight on ?
whats the best way to charge onyx max devices so that the battrys life dosnt get runnied also is there a certin brand of charge cord that is hiighly recommed for the onyx max lumi device
Charge it with your phone charger. You don't need something special. If you want some extra guru security than charge it slower over night with an old charger.
Well done Voja. Thanks for this. One thing that is not discussed, is the fact that this device uses Android, which is fine, but perhaps a bit overkill for a note-taking device. Case in point-- I own this product AND the RM1, and when I want to jot down some notes, I always end up on the RM1. That said, I prefer the Lumi for sketching (Industrial Design type stuff) because of it's bigger surface. I, too, look forward to getting my Note Air soon!
Oh, and it took me a couple hours to get the Lumi setup-- it's way more complicated and when you want to add in all the Android goodies, Calendar, Discord, Google Apps, etc. it can take quite some time to get everything settled. Within 3 minutes of opening the RM1, I was up and going. One other point which should be stressed is the customer support and updates-- which I think must be taken into account when purchasing such devices. So far I have no issue with either company, BooX or Remarkable-- but listening to your videos does communicate to me that RM is just not a responsive company and more focussed on hardware than software. So...there's THAT.
@@ChippWalters Well, your point with setup the Lumi might be right, but with remarkable you don't even have the possibility to install apps like Calendar and Discord. So I don't really see that as a negative. It depends on you how many apps you want to install. To do the same as remarkable can you don't need more time than on remarkable. Plus I spent a lot of time with installing "hacks" on remarkable because their software doesn't offer these kind of features (like a clock, pinch and zoom, bookmarks etc.)
@@heiligerklabautermann Of course you are correct. Remarkable does not have a calendar or other apps and that because it's not trying to be a general purpose computer/tablet. At it's core, it replaces a notepad. That's it-- simple. I have half a dozen Android devices, including several tablets. If I need a mobile calendar, I'll check my Note 10+. But none of these devices are as simple and easy to use and IMMEDIATE as RM. That's The point I'm trying to make.
@@ChippWalters Theres a difference between general purpose tablet and basic functions like bookmarks and a clock. And if I have to install hacks to get these basic features its just a shame
@@ChippWalters You can use the Lumi also simple like mentioned above. It's crazy how all getting dulled by rM marketing and it's an excuse for everything. Sadly rM2 is a bad paper replacement, also the Boox could be even better at least they try and learn.
Thank you very much for this in-depth review Can you please try 2 specific apps: OneNote and xodo pdf reader? And try all possible annotations with colors (specially the rectangular shape filled with color at 10% opacity), and then how it appears on PC... In fact this will help me to decide if i’ll buy this or not... Thank you again for your marvelous effort.
@@MyDeepGuide thank you for the answer. In that part of the review you said that for you the writing experience of lumi Is equal to remarkable 1, instead remarkable 2 Is a little faster. But if we talk about writing experience not only based on how fast these devices are, but also Including other aspects like the surface's material, the pleasantness of the feeling, the comfort of the pen, Is there any detectable difference between lumi and remarkable 2?
Default pen on Lumi is probably the worst pen I've ever used (standard Boox pen). So, a better pen is a must. If I use the same pen on both devices then it comes down to the sophistication of the brushes, and there the remarkable takes the cake. So, if we're strictly talking about just writing experience, then reMarkable 2 is better, because it's faster, them default pen is better and brushes are more sophisticated.
@@MyDeepGuide thank you for this complete answer, you hit what I meant! I don't want to go off topic, but I wanted to ask you one last question. Do you think there are better options than the remarkable 2 in it's same price range? (I'm batch 8 and I'm full of doubts). Anyway, I have recently discovered your channel and I am delighted. In a society focused on fast and immediate content, it is not easy to find such attention to detail in reviews. great job
If you mean if I am affiliated or if I have a like over which I can get something if you buy over the link, no. I am independent, so I don't have those kinds of promotions.
Hey Voya, do you think the lamy is the best pen replacement? I love my Lumi but I see what you are saying about the pen after 3 days of taking calculus notes
I haven't tried nearly enough replacement pens to be able to say the best, but it's certainly leaps and bounds better than the original, if you use the original tip. Lamy tips are very smooth and harder, so I wouldn't use those on the Max Lumi screen.
Very informative reviews. Many thanks. Regarding your Android Apps assessment, could you please include PDF/ebook file transfers to/from cloud storage sites such as Dropbox or OneDrive? An interesting thing would be the method of syncing between the Lumi and cloud storage.
Great review! :) I am interested in buying max 3 or lumi for teaching online. I am not sure, could those two devices screen cast/share with PC, so I could share screen of PC with my students while teaching online? Please help, thank you! :D
This is not good indeed but paramount is how secure is our precious notes and sensitive data inside them. That deserves some attention so pls Vo made an deep research on this 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@dpav02 The gpl as an agreement is of course enforceable by law and they should comply. Saying these licenses are bs is missing the point what they have done for software development in general.
@@dpav02 Some people here implied that the gpl is not enforceable at all, but it is a legal construct like for example copyright. That it is in practice to enforce in a country like China is a political discussion on a completely different level. For me because of this Onyx is a big no no.
Chinese still all kind of intellectual property. I will not write down my personal stuff but want to work on this device, not just make some doodling. And for that I need to be sure.
TY FOR YOU REVIEW ! I really hoped that you ll try to write on onenote to see how does it work, did you try ? also i wanted to ask you if it worth to switch from max 2 to max lumi, in term of speed Ty again
Neutron, K-2 and Pro-1 in my custom made stand for under 10$ :) Had a video about it too. As for music, yeah you can find it in Bandcamp, Spotify, Amazon etc, under my full name and under Angry Dwarf (but that's much harder Goa and Pay trance stuff) :)
Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't get it :/ Wow, you're normal! I get all sorts of messages and questions, so at this point I don't assume anything and I just answer :)
Thanks, Voja, for a great and super thorough review. I’ve watched all 5 parts 🙏🙏🙏 In your 3rd party apps dedicated review, can you please check and comment on Lumi’s RAM usage? The device comes with 4GB, but how much of that RAM is actually available for reading and apps use? I mean, how much free RAM is left after the initial usage of the OS? How much free RAM is left when using the device in split screen, when neoreader has a few documents open and while using the note app or Microsoft word/Google Docs? Thank you very much in advance. I hope you can check these questions 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for your speedy reply :) Is that the available free RAM with no apps running at all, except for the basic OS requirements? It makes me think that the Note Air won’t have a lot of free RAM to work with when multitasking, since it only has 3GB RAM.
Yes, cleared apps. We'll see about Note Air, ram consumption doesn't scale like that, because all modern operating systems are monitoring available ram and balancing stuff to make the device perform smoothly, so it doesn't necessarily mean that it'll spend the same 1.7GB on Note Air as well.
Hallo, I have a question to this e-reader that I haven't found the answer yet. When I write notes by hand and then transform it into text, can I transform it in a way, that I can export it to my MacBook and keep working on the text there, for my papers? Is there a way to use Zotero on it for references? I would really appreciate an answer! Thank you!
Thanks again for another thorough review. I especially appreciated the cons. I agree with why make a required screen protector and not apply in manufacturing. Here are some of my thoughts I'm wondering if the non-solid black background is a product of dpi being 207. Maybe you can do a comparison with other e ink screen with higher dpi. For the uneven front light issue, l appreciate what the Onyx did. This coming from someone who grew up with a green-lit front screen of palm pilot and add-on light GBA. So yeah, in the pitch black I am not surprised you would notice it being uneven. It's the limit of the front light. So your comment that regular use in anything other than extremes situation is correct. But for nitpickers it good to know especially for the price. Now the big elephant in the room. The ”dead pixel” issue is a big concern. The question is whether more will show up in the future. This is a limitation of not having a device long term. And if more do crop up will the manufacturer replace it? Only time will tell, but it is something to consider when forking over $1000. Again something a person should consider when deciding this because at this price point you can get a computer, a pretty decent monitor, or even an e ink monitor. I also agree the air product is a much compelling product for the most consumer. Just the size alone, make it convenient to use everywhere. This assumes zooming is perfect. Yes, price is also a big consideration but I don’t think most people consider portability until you own an iPad 12.9 pro or used the undocked larger surface book. Its size and weight start to become unwieldy when trying to use one-handed for any given time. Next Voja, you can show all the cool things you can with the Lumi. Like using it on a monitor stand as a second monitor for reference material**edited just notice you had covered on previousepsiode**. Using it as a laptop, outdoors in the middle of a bright day. Reading with it, using a Bluetooth device to turn the pages(I am one of those individuals that find it distracting to swipe across the page while reading). And the geeky side of me since I know you’re also a developer, using VIM/EMACS to write code and compile it. This last part especially since these tools were designed at a time where screen latency was a lot slower. Thanks again for the great and thorough review. Keep being your awesome self.
Hi! I really like the videos! Please try OfficeHD TextMaker (the pro or the free version) I currently use it in Note2 and is the closest to full pc office that i could find. I really like to know how it works in the 13 inches screen. For me microsoft office isn't good enough to write academic papers....but officehd is. Thanks!
@My Deep Guide Voja Please explain if someone need the screen protector (especially on the Air later on). And does it change the view or writing feel. Besides all the user generated bubbles;).
The screen protector reduces the crispness of the text. I removed mine. It is a super cheap screen protector. Onyx has strongly encouraged me to keep it on in an email, but I cannot stand it. I am trying to explore other options if the screen is really as fragile as they say.
@@alibeydoun524 Thanks for your reply. As the Air is glass I hope I'll don't need one and they only use it to increase the friction for the writing feel.
Every non-glass screen protector adds 3 negative aspects: 1. Increased distance from the writing surface 2. Decreased touch input precision 3. Decreased visibility of the screen content Because of these reasons, I don't use them. I prefer to use a cover and be careful with how I use my devices. reMarkable is plastic front, which should be more prone to scratches than glass, yet after 3 years of use and hundreds, if not over a thousand pages written, screen looks and performs great. It all, of course, depends on the individual, how reasonable, and mindful of the device they are, but if used normally, I don't see not using a protector as a problem. As for companies strongly urging to use a protector, well, if they strongly urge, then it needs to come factory pre-installed.
@@MyDeepGuide Thanks for detailed answer. But I'am afraid why they offer these protection. Thought maybe some of the available pen nibs or even the original could micro scratch the glass. The rM2 and Air uses glass, so I was even more confused.
@@MyDeepGuide thanks for your reply. Do you see the Max Lumi being able to withstand the test of time from a durability perspective if I use a case cover and only the Boox supplied pen and nibs?
@@MyDeepGuide Fine, a really better image quality anyway. I'm in a hurry for your Note Air deep review (and the next Nova/Note 3 that would be available soon)

Hi Voja, when You'll be testing apps, can You please try to test app called "Logos Bible App". Outstanding review series. Finally got to see all parts. Thank you so much for your time, patience and dedication to such reviews. Looking forward to the 3 party review. Keep them coming. :)
thanks voja. as usual, great review.
And, as usual, thank you! Love it.
Curious to apply some paperlike screen protector made for iPad Pro 12,8
Thank you for your thorough review and all your insights.
does anybody know if there will also be a Note Air review from Voja ?
When it arrives, yes there will be :)
Great job Voya! It will be great to see Google Gsuite in action!
If you go to settings and the general setting while in the neo reader, there is an option "enable pinch to zoom".
@@MyDeepGuide Thank you very much ! That did it, and took all of 15 seconds. I was in the settings last night, and for some reason I missed it. I call it a senior moment ! I need the large screen, and zoom at times because my vision isn't what it used to be. This was a big help.
Glad it helped :)
Please add Evernote, and Google Docs and Keeps to the list of apps you test.
Agreed
Trello, Word, Squid, Onenote & MindMeister.. I'd love to use this as a secondary display for reading emails, word, documents, reading news and coding...
Thank you for your reviews.
These are great questions, can anyone answer them?
You may buy it on Amazon i.e. . There should be a certificat inside to recheck.
Is the white Max 3 even available? Could you share the link? Do they ship worldwide?
Hmm yeah
But the max 3 is not a very attractive option right now. Even though it's successor is out, there is no discount or offer...
Think you so much for that series of vidéos ! realy helpfull
If I have one complaint about the Max Lumi, it is the users manual. I just want a bit more.
Great job Voya and Nice Idea for third apps. Why not Pen and other accessoiries
I created a subdirectory in my notes are on my Max Lumi 2. Later, I deleted the notes. Now I want to delete the subdirectory. How do I do this?
I finally found out how, long touch until a window appears.
Thank you very much for this in-depth review
Can you please try 2 specific apps: OneNote and xodo pdf reader?
And try all possible annotations with colors (specially the rectangular shape filled with color at 10% opacity), and then how it appears on PC...
In fact this will help me to decide if i’ll buy this or not...
Thank you again for your marvelous effort.
I could not use the outline of an imported pdf (chapters etc).
Thank you for the amazing review. Which writing experience Is better in your opinion between this device and remarkable 2?
If you check review part 1, chapter Writing Experience, you'll find the answer.
In a society focused on fast and immediate content, it is not easy to find such attention to detail in reviews. great job
@@mennula93 Check out the Boox Air. I cancelled my rM2 for it. But if writing experience is 90% of the device for you than stick to the rM2.
Do you do purchase link?
If you mean if I am affiliated or if I have a like over which I can get something if you buy over the link, no. I am independent, so I don't have those kinds of promotions.
Can you use the split screen like a normal pdf reader? ie. Page 1 and 2 changes to pages 3 and 4 with one swipe? Thank you for the big review
Yes you can
I would be very glad if you did a writing FEEL comparison between RM2, Onyx Boox Max Lumi and Note Air.
Great job as always, grazie mille! :)
I am interested in buying max 3 or lumi for teaching online.
I am not sure, could those two devices screen cast/share with PC, so I could share screen of PC with my students while teaching online? Please help, thank you! :D
Onyx Boox is violating GPL License though. Am very jealous of that neo reader though. Thanks Voja!
@@omnibus4298 He won't. If you don't trust someone don't put private stuff on it. That's all!
Chinese still all kind of intellectual property. I will not write down my personal stuff but want to work on this device, not just make some doodling. And for that I need to be sure.
TY FOR YOU REVIEW ! I really hoped that you ll try to write on onenote to see how does it work, did you try ?
also i wanted to ask you if it worth to switch from max 2 to max lumi, in term of speed
Ty again
He said in this video that he will make another video about third party apps.
Well well, is that a Behringer Neutron I spot there? What are the other two? And do you have any music somewhere?
Neutron, K-2 and Pro-1 in my custom made stand for under 10$ :) Had a video about it too. As for music, yeah you can find it in Bandcamp, Spotify, Amazon etc, under my full name and under Angry Dwarf (but that's much harder Goa and Pay trance stuff) :)
@@MyDeepGuide Cool! Will check it out. Remind me, what is your full name? Having trouble digging up your last name on your channel 😅
Vojislav Dimitrijevic :)
And now read it loud and backwards, and Satan will play a riff for you 😜.
Does one know with which better stylus this monster could be compatible ?
Lamy Allstar or Steadler i would recommend.
Voja how come you're using 2 different hoodies in this review video?
Original filming and then a few days later, the addendum comment after I heard back from Boox regarding the white pixel issue.
@@MyDeepGuide that was a joke, but thanks for embarrassing me 😂
Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't get it :/ Wow, you're normal! I get all sorts of messages and questions, so at this point I don't assume anything and I just answer :)
Thanks, Voja, for a great and super thorough review. I’ve watched all 5 parts 🙏🙏🙏
In your 3rd party apps dedicated review, can you please check and comment on Lumi’s RAM usage?
The device comes with 4GB, but how much of that RAM is actually available for reading and apps use?
I mean, how much free RAM is left after the initial usage of the OS?
How much free RAM is left when using the device in split screen, when neoreader has a few documents open and while using the note app or Microsoft word/Google Docs?
Thank you very much in advance. I hope you can check these questions 🙏🙏🙏
Around 1.7-1.9GB free, usually.
Thank you for your speedy reply :)
Is that the available free RAM with no apps running at all, except for the basic OS requirements?
It makes me think that the Note Air won’t have a lot of free RAM to work with when multitasking, since it only has 3GB RAM.
Yes, cleared apps. We'll see about Note Air, ram consumption doesn't scale like that, because all modern operating systems are monitoring available ram and balancing stuff to make the device perform smoothly, so it doesn't necessarily mean that it'll spend the same 1.7GB on Note Air as well.
@@MyDeepGuide Wonderful. Thank you for the explanation 🙏
I'm hoping you'll touch on this point in your Note Air in depth review :)
Here are some of my thoughts
I'm wondering if the non-solid black background is a product of dpi being 207.
Thanks!
@My Deep Guide Voja
Please explain if someone need the screen protector (especially on the Air later on).
Every non-glass screen protector adds 3 negative aspects:
1. Increased distance from the writing surface
2. Decreased touch input precision
3. Decreased visibility of the screen content
Because of these reasons, I don't use them.
I see there, you've changed your lighting gear for a 2 sources soft boxes vs one ring. Big improvement there :-)
Else, bravo for your work, I'm a fan
Thanks, but it's actually two identical rings, but most importantly, new camera ;)
@@MyDeepGuide Fine, a really better image quality anyway. I'm in a hurry for your Note Air deep review (and the next Nova/Note 3 that would be available soon)
Thank you for your in-depth reviews. You have done very well! Quick question, what method(s) are used to transfer files from the Onyx Boox Max Lumi to and from a PC?
Dear Voja,
I want to buy a Lumi. Only I still don't know which seller to choose - shop.boox, ereader.store, or amazon. I found some comments that Lumi may come with defects and I am looking for a trusted one. If I get some defects, also I want to easy options for changing and returning because I read some people even can't normally change items. Could you give your opinion, please, where to buy?
Kind regards, Jevgenija
Hello,
I'm sorry, but I can't give a recommendation on something i have no experience of. Since i haven't been returning products or making warranty claims with either of the stores, i really can't help you there.
I made a packet capture video after i got my max lumi to see where the device might be communicating back to.....i know there were some people that were concerned about this. ua-cam.com/video/ObtjXO_hEPw/v-deo.html
wich is better ?onyx lumi or remarkable 2
OneNote!
Hi Voja, when You'll be testing apps, can You please try to test app called "Logos Bible App". It's a Bible app and it's very logic to use that kind of app on ebook reader since it is basically a reading app. But in the same time it is very heavy on a system because it interconnects multiple sources. Anyways, it would be interesting to see how does the devise handle it and it would interest me personally.
Thank You Voja, that would be awesome
