Have been following your channel for a while, bought my Onyx Boox Note, based on your review and quiet happy with it. As the e-readers are progressing, so are your reviews, this channel is the best place to get the honest reviews. It's because of your videos I could figure out how to use my Note properly as Onyx doesn't quite provide a proper user guide with their products. Keep up the good work guys.
I have Note Pro for one year and I'm quite happy with it. Tablet has it's issues, but still I find it great help for taking notes at work and for learning. For technical and scientific papers is to small though. I already bought Max Lumi and waiting for delivery. For me game changer is light. I study at night or in the early mornings and don't want to bother my wife with light. It is a shame that Lumi is black, not white. Back to Note Pro, I bought straight ahead case with a convenient handle on the back and a magnet, protective foil and pen (original is so small and crappy, I use Wacom UP-817E which works fine, little less precise but bigger, Intuos pens do not work). Biggest disadvantages are: * they promised Android 9, but after one year still android 6. No split screen for apps, which is huge disadvantage if you eg want to do notes from e-learning paltform app or website, * in split screen pdf + side notes you need to tap on the left or right side before you start writing (!). It seem that only one side has a focus for writing. It is so annoying. Plus unprecise pen and literally side notes are unusable. * pen is not precise (even if you put a lot of effort to calibration with original one). Taking notes for pdf's is painful, * it weights a lot, it is hard to lay on back and read with hands above, * surface is more like on smartphone not paper (but still better), * drains battery fast with wi-fi on (which is always at home), * it is black, which distracts from a text. Please is it possible to make the Kindle app cover a larger portion of the screen when you are reading? There seems to be a lot of unused space on the side. Thanks.
Thanks for the review! Have you tested the battery life? I have a Boox Note and the biggest issue with using it as a tablet is its battery life. I wonder if their recent iterations have improved on this aspect.
Good review but I don't agree with your complaints about the pen. Wacom EMR is the best pen experience there is aside from Apple Pencil. If the quality of the pen housing is bothering you, just buy a "Lamy AL-star black EMR", as it has all metal body and higher quality construction overall.
Hi! For such devices could you add a musical scores segment, whether you can flip the page really quickly (high refresh) mode? Freeware scores are fine :) thanks!
Hi, Peter! During your demonstration was the screen film protector applied? I am just asking because I know that customers do receive it separetly. Thanks.
whats the best way to charge onyx max devices so that the battrys life dosnt get runnied also is there a certin brand of charge cord that is hiighly recommed for the onyx max lumi device
Okay, but how does exporting notes work? Can you transfer files via the type C port or save files in googledrive/onedrive? Is this OTG compatible? Can you sync notes to notion?
good tablet reviews. A pity that I'm not able to take notes on my super note a5 despite over a month of discussion with your staff over the faulty product. at one point being told that a pen will be sent - only to later find that to not be the case. A warning to anyone else looking to buy from this companies store. edit: having been in contact with Ratta (Tablet manufacturer) themselves a pen is now being sent out. much better service than good reader
Cant put my finger on it but this one seems so fluid and intuitive compared to the others - really nice -my first concern would be the lack of stylus tilt sensitivity -couldnt tell if its a deal breaker - enjoying my NOTE 10 has made me want larger digital writing space so have been scoping these type of videos to get a feel for whats out there -but Daaaayuuuung!! $900 with shipping?! I thought it was gonna be maybe $750 -ah well what can you do ;/ for that price they could at least include a backup pen -or maybe a nicer pen all together -still though GREAT REVIEW
Does anyone know if a max 3 screen protector will work on a max lumi? I found a gritty screen protector that offers some resistance for a stylus, but it's only available for the max 3
the device should be much lighter. it now weighs nearly as much as the big ipad pro. we dont need an eink tablet, what we need is a light eink reading device. yes, 13.3 and frontlight are great, but it needs to be light as well like the sony digital paper
I think, as Voja on @mydeepguide mentioned, they do. But you probably shouldn’t do that because they might damage the screen on other devices, on Supernote itself there is a special dedicated screen protector for that purpose.
The "SuperNote Pen" aka Shinonome Pen that was developed by SuperNote & Wacom. Basically all the pen technology sits in a barrel that is not bigger then a real pen refill! That's why they could put it into a real metal pen casing. I'm quite convinced that the new Boox Note AIR will use the same technology :) (but that's speculation right now) However, the Supernote pen has a very hard tip and the SuperNote tablet has a special soft film screen protector. So really, you should NOT use that pen on a tablet that comes with the softer Wacom standard EMR pen nibs, because it will scratch and not feel good (hard tip on hard screen).
You say the writing experience is “fantastic.” Do you have the screen protector on the device? I ask because I have the Onyx Boox Max 3 with screen protector. Fantastic is NOT the term I would use to describe the note-taking experience.
Im curious, with the screen protector on, how would you describe your writing experience on the device. Is it too smooth, doesn't provide a satisfying feel?
Guys can you please test on old scanned sheet music from imslp? Specially page turning speed and reliability. I mean consider you are reading sheet music and need to turn a page. Usually modern PDFs turn really fast but scanned music takes long for some reason. Here is an example were to find uncopyrighted good quality scans. imslp.org/wiki/Klavierwerke_(Chopin,_Fr%C3%A9d%C3%A9ric) By reliability I mean that on my Max2pro i click a button and the page some times doesnt turn. There is no indication that the click was "received"
hey Marco. We have an office in Chicago IL, Vancouver Canada, and Tokyo Japan. So we ship from wherever we have stock currently. Thanks for the inquiry!
Who cares about the look of the pen ? What technology does it use ? Is it EMR ? AES ? 1.0 ? 2.0 ? Are the lines straight ? Does the palm rejection work ?
Amazing!
One Max Lumi with color e-ink is my dream, I need color to study biology!
These is a color chines e-reader, not the same thing but still

Vikramaditya Bhaskar You should check out MyDeepGuide’s channel for in-depth reviews. He is very thorough and unbiased.
Onyx is the best honestly. I'm using boox note 2 for over 2 years and still happy with it.
I'm sold 😄 I'm waiting on my air but hell might get the lumi too after this

No headphone jack? microSD? There is no bluetooth "stylus" that support tilt? for example "HP Tilt Pen" ?
Can you please list the other pens you've mentioned here?

if only i could afford it hahaha

I agree, I also have a like book Mars and because of battery life I ended using my iPad
Thank you so much for this review! Can this also be used with Samsung Dex?
Backlight ✓, Android + Play Store ✓, External Monitor ✓, Split Screen ✓. OMG I'm soooo close, if there's a color one next year I'd buy two.
its not registered with Google Android licence

what other 13.3 eink device is worth the price if I mostly read but sometimes take notes as well if this one is not?
Please review the note air asap . Thank you
Max Lumi with color e-ink is much anticipated, plus lighter than this current one.
Nice review. Would you say the screen is better (whiter) than the Onyx Max 2 pro or is the same? Cheers
Can it keep the notes and drawings we make with the pen, in a pdf file, when we move it and open it on a pc?
Does anyone know if they are developing it in color or if another company does it in this size?
What for a text editor app is used?
Hi, Peter! During your demonstration was the screen film protector applied? I am just asking because I know that customers do receive it separetly. Thanks.
The screen protector was not applied .
and the glow light was off the entire time :-)
@@goodereader Thanks ! Do you think that the writing experince changes too much with it?
please do a separate review on video playing
In one of your videos of e reader you showed a dialler which onecwas it ?
If X- mode is selected, will there be any ghosting while browsing?
how is the monitor function compared to Max3? is there an upgrade on that, or is the monitor experience just similar?
whats the best way to charge onyx max devices so that the battrys life dosnt get runnied also is there a certin brand of charge cord that is hiighly recommed for the onyx max lumi device
Is there an ،13.3 inch alternative to this device for reading
as far as I know there are -> sony dpt-s1 and dpt-rp1
Is remarkable better for drawing (because tilt) ?

@@kiaradelgado5321 couldn't agree more - they were very quick and eager to help when I emailed them and gave very quick replies.

That's my question too. Which would be a better buy especially when it comes to note taking

I think, as Voja on @mydeepguide mentioned, they do. But you probably shouldn’t do that because they might damage the screen on other devices, on Supernote itself there is a special dedicated screen protector for that purpose.

Note Air actually uses a new type of stylus.
I came from the video of the contest ...I wish I could win this great device
The biggest downside is the extremely high price!!! So the only option for me is to go for Note Air!

When you write may you put your hand on the screen without gloves
This in color and you have a buy.
This eink tablet is quiet good 😮
Can it read pdf files?
Of course, it is especially designed with 13.3 screen so you can read pdfs in A4 size
Anybody has had experience buying from Goodereader website? Do they have existences in the US or do they send these tablets from china?

it not registered with Google for Android licence. so u can't really use downplaod many playbook app, it's a paid promotion

If this is affordable 😢😀😀
Nice
Dasung is better.. Onyx lumni should cost 700$
