You gotta install java though. Yeah back in 2009 navicat was the only options for GUI. Then dbeaver came out -- everyone basically went to dbeaver around 2010. Most newbies know nothing about dbeaver or which java to install.
@@LearnBI DBeaver community is free and just at first glance has more connectors and features. It's open source so you can also use community add ons like interacting with Excel files, which is gated to the premium version here. This is still a step up from the generic PG one though as you say.
It looks nice, but I tried to use it in Linux (it is distributed as an .appimage) but it unfortunately it did not launch. No errors were displayed, it just did nothing. Maybe in the future I will try it again, but now I don't have time to which the problem could be. I will continue using DBeaver for now that works without problems (as I said, I may try it again in the future). Anyways, thanks for the suggestion!
It's a very nice tool (especially comparing it to SSMS), but I don't like that it has editmode as the default mode. It seems very dangerous to me. Isn't it possible to turn this off and just enter editmode on request (by tapping on a cell)?
Sounds like dbeaver with extra steps and costs
It’s free
@@LearnBI I heard You said it's free. Thanks for this Content.
@@LearnBI DBeaver is free as well
BOTH have paid versions with enhanced features... DBeaver is Open Sourced !
You gotta install java though.

I remember using this back in ~2009 or so. It was a good microsoft-only program back then. I think it works with linux now. Good show.
You forgot DBeaver
DBeaver is excellent and FREE!!!!! Well, the free version is very nice!

It sounds like a miracle. Highly appreciate your effort Adam
My pleasure

Thanks Adam for this info
Seems pretty good !! I'll give it a try !
I will try it. Thanks for sharing ^^
could you tell me whether it's upport "influx"/clickhouse etc?
In the video you can see what it connects to.
Can you make a video on features we get using premium version.
Can this tool be connected to power bi and tableau
This is a database management tool. You don't need to connect it to BI tool.

TBH I don't think so but you might want to have a look at the application's settings to double-check
@@LearnBI I searched but didn't find it. I was hoping there was a trick to it. 😉
navicat free?
Navicat Premium Lite is free, yes.
Duckdb?
Why? And for whom? The paid stuff might be good for those WHO need it. For most dbeaver is enough.
A nice tool but all good features are paid.
But he stated that it is FREE. He wouldn't lie, would he? 😅
I did not find anything that dbBeaver do not provide
DBeaver is better🎉🎉🎉
You gotta create an account for some reason, too bad.
Ok 👍🏻
Finally i can delete my 5 db tools
Free Trail?
It's completely free
not a free tool, you must buy it
Incorrect, the Lite version is completely free.
what about kdb+ (from kx) ?
Not really comparable
@@LearnBI Shame ! kdb+ is the fastest in-memory database in the world.
